Civil War Aftermath
is the name of a community roleplay about the Aftermath of the Civil War, which was one of the main plot points in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the fifth of The Elder Scrolls series.
The roleplay is still receiving updates as of 2020.
Civil War Aftermath contains examples of the following tropes:
- Affably Evil: Tyrian is very polite and prefers to talk before engaging in acts of torture. Heck, he offered a glass of water to someone he was interrogating. However, he is the Grand-Overseer of the Aldmeri dominion.
- Canis Major: Lorgar's true lycanthropy form is a massive black werewolf.
- Darker and Edgier: Individual characters and events that were in the game are portrayed much darker in this roleplay. Such as the siege of Whiterun, which ends in a mass looting and rape spree in the city.
- Dirty Old Man:
- Tullius goes to brothels, harasses a maid when drunk, and is described as a "perverted old man".
- Lorgar is 55, reads romance novels (some of them dirty) and thinks Girl on Girl Is Hot (really hot, being a Yuri Fan).
- Good Is Not Nice: Baldur does some pretty horrific stuff in chapter 1 and 2, but is on the side of "right".
- Hotter and Sexier: Chapter 1 was mainly focused on the war, while chapter 2 has... very suggestive posts and interactions. Chapter 3 continues the trend.
- Lipstick Lesbian: Princess Dales Moitre likes girls and acts like a Girly Girl, loving frilly clothing and cuddling.
- Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Most of the Nordic surnames are intimidating; Red-Snow, Grim-maw, etc.
- One-Man Army: Lorgar is a stand out example. When he breaks out of Falkreath prison, he slays over twenty guards. In solitude, he briefly engages the entire solitude Guard force in his werewolf form, and goes on a rampage.
- Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism: Far on the cynical side, portraying war as a brutal and psychologically scarring matter. Though it still goes out of it way to show that there's good people on both sides of the conflict.
- Summon Magic: Witchie can summon something akin to a "Frost Werewolf" from Hircine's hunting grounds.
- Took a Level in Badass: Dales Moitre went from a ditzy Imperial Princess, to a ditzy Imperial Princess that can cut down a highly trained dominion assassin in seconds, and is able to hold her own against Witchie in a practice match.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Lorgar, Tullius, and Marius are rude, aggressive, and very insulting to each other, and are huge jackasses to each other. Yet they would go extraordinary lengths to help each other, and try to keep in contact with one another.
- Yuri Fan: Lorgar's favorite genre of novels is girls love, which results in many awkward situations.
