Even Snoopy does it!

  • One episode of Adventure Time features a snow golem doing this to an alarm clock bird.
  • In the 2001 parody on Animaniacs, an alarm clock wakes up the Warner brothers a bit early, so Yakko reaches out of his stasis pod and smashes it with a mallet from across the room.
  • Arthur: In "Slink's Special Talent," Slink doesn't want to wake up at 6:00 AM for his paper route. He hits the snooze button on his alarm clock and tries putting it in a drawer before becoming frustrated, at which point he swats the alarm clock off his night table and across his bedroom.
  • The 1988 reboot of Beany and Cecil opens straight away with an alarm clock going off and coming apart at the springs on its own.
  • Classic Disney Shorts: The 1941 Donald Duck short "Early to Bed" is basically 7 minutes of Donald VS. his alarm clock, followed by Donald VS. his sofabed, then the revenge of the alarm clock.
  • Dan Vs.: Instead of smashing it, Dan actually pulls out his digital alarm clock until the cord snaps and chucks it out the window; the alarm then knocks a passing jogger unconscious.
  • DC Super Hero Girls:
    • The short "#StreetStyle" opens with Kara Danvers (Supergirl) crushing her alarm clock with one punch... before replacing it by picking from a pile of similar alarm clocks.
    • "#SuperWho?" opens on Kara pulverizing her alarm clock — again. Although here it isn't because it's ringing her awake, but because the radio is speaking of Superman's latest exploits, upsetting her.
  • Eddy of Ed, Edd n Eddy has been known to pummel his alarm clock on occasion. One time it shows that Eddy has a pile of smashed up alarm clocks in the corner of his room.
  • In Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, Ben Grimm has passed the (ahem) torch of alarm clock abuse to Johnny Storm, who keeps melting his.
  • The Flintstones: One episode has a Fred doing this to his alarm clock. This clock in particular is operated by a bird with his wing in a sling, who avoids Fred's fist just in time.
Bird: Boy, that was close. Yesterday, I didn't quite make it.
  • The Garfield Show: Its theme song opens on an alarm clock ringing next to Garfield, who then punches it off of the dresser.
  • Gravity Falls: The second Fixin It With Soos short revolves around Soos fixing a cuckoo-clock that Stan broke "by accident". Cue flashback:
Stan: STOP MAKING THAT NOISE! *SMASH* I HATE YOU! *SMASH* THIS IS DEFINETLY NOT AN ACCIDENT!!
  • Hey Arnold!: In "Oskar Gets a Job", Oskar gets a job as a paper boy to pay back a finance. On the first morning of his new job, when Oskar's alarm clock goes off, he tosses it out the window. Arnold's alarm clock then goes off so Arnold can make sure that Oskar does his job, but when he comes to Oskar's apartment, Oskar lies to him that he has the Chinese Stomach Flu to get Arnold to do his job for him.
  • Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi:
    • In one episode featuring the girls' stay at a farm, Yumi is woken up by an alarm clock modeled after a rooster. She smashes it, then goes back to sleep; however, a REAL rooster lands in the open window and issues an even noisier wake-up call, to which her response is less than polite. ("You stupid turkey!")
    • At the end of the episode "Cat Nap", Kaz and the girls' pet cats simultaneously smash an alarm clock each with a different hammer.
  • On an episode of Jimmy Two-Shoes, Lucius does this to Samy, who's acting like a human alarm clock.
  • Kaeloo: In one episode, Mr. Cat smashes his alarm clock with a mallet when it rings.
  • Looney Tunes:
    • In the classic Warner Brothers' cartoon "A Bear for Punishment", Junyer has a whole table of alarm clocks. When they all go off simultaneously, Pa Bear frantically tries to shut them off one after another. Junyer silences the whole array by putting a finger to his lips and "shushhing" them.
    • Two other Warner cartoons have an alarm clock violently silenced at their conclusions. "Porky's Badtime Story" has Porky bashing the clock with a mallet; its remake, "Tick Tock Tuckered" has it getting shot dead.
    • WHY I'LL MOIDER THAT BUGLER!
    • In the newer Looney Tunes Cartoons short "Firehouse Frenzy", firefighter Daffy Duck is sleeping one morning and the fire station's alarm starts ringing, but he assumes it's his alarm clock and tries shutting off and then putting in the dresser before ultimately smashing the dresser with the alarm clock inside, but the ringing won't stop. Then it's finally played straight at the end, after the fire station burns down but Porky and Daffy's beds remain intact; they leap back into bed, but the alarm clock starts ringing for real so they smash it with their fists.
    • The Eager Young Space Cadet gave Duck Dodgers a talking "Happy Cat" alarm clock for Christmas. The clock became a Clingy Macguffin... in fact, a rather hostile one voiced by Mako Iwamatsu.
Happy Cat: Wake up! You are lazy and worthless!
  • In a Mainzelmännchen (from ZDF, the 2nd German TV channel) toon the alarm clock strikes back... the Mainzelmännchen ends up with a black eye.
  • A variation occurs in the first episode of My Adventures with Superman when Clark accidentally destroys his alarm clock while trying to turn it off gently with just one poke of his finger. This is even inverted by way of contrast when Lois wakes up; she energetically whacks her clock with her fist a couple of times, but still fails to activate the snooze button.
  • Taken to the literal extreme in The Owl House when Eda throws her living alarm clock at the wall, smashing it to pieces. The fact that it falls into a pile of similarly broken clocks indicates that this is a regular occurrence for her.
  • The Pink Panther: The cartoon "In The Pink of the Night" starts with an alarm clock waking the titular character up. Pink tries to turn it off, but it keeps going anyways. He reaches under the bed for a mallet and pummels the clock into submission. He then gets up and puts the clock into a drawer that was already full of broken alarm clocks... In the same episode, Pink first smashes the alarm clock using a massive wrench (from a drawer full of wrenches), then cuts the cable to his radio alarm (with clippers from, yes, a drawer full of clippers). The episode was then dedicated to Pink's new cuckoo-clock. Hilarity Ensues.
  • Although no clocks were harmed, one Popeye cartoon has Popeye doing everything he can to keep Swee'Pea from waking up, including punching out music students, crushing several cars, and sinking a ship.
  • Road Rovers has Shag constantly being irritated by his alarm clock going off every five minutes. The final time, all the viewer hears is an irritated growl, a Dramatic Gun Cock, and an explosion. We then immediately cut to Shag sleeping soundly while holding a smoking missile launcher, with a crater where the alarm clock used to be.
  • Rocko's Modern Life took this to the extreme in "Day of the Flecko," when a feather from a passing bird lands on the Bigheads' station wagon while Rocko is trying to sleep in after working all night, setting off its' very loud car alarm. As if noisy alarm wasn't enough, Bev Bighead orders Ed to shut the alarm off by completely demolishing the car, and the smashing sounds don't help Rocko either.
  • On Rugrats, Chuckie once said that the first thing his dad did when he woke up in the morning was throw the noisy clock against the wall.
  • In the second episode of Samurai Jack's 5th season, Aku's morning starts with him punching his alarm clock.
  • The Simpsons:
    • Bart Simpson does this to his alarm clock in the song "Deep Deep Trouble" from the album, The Simpsons Sing the Blues.
    • In "The Curse of the Flying Hellfish", an assassin tries to kill Abe Simpson by poisoning the water where he keeps his dentures. It fails when Abe hears the alarm clock and absentmindedly smashes the glass and puts the clock in his mouth.
  • SpongeBob SquarePants: In "Employee of the Month", SpongeBob tries to destroy Squidward's alarm clock, but Squidward opens a closet full of ticking alarm clocks.
  • The Hulk likes to do this in The Super Hero Squad Show. Anytime a phone rings, Hulk thinks it must be mocking him, so he often smashes it.
  • The rooster variant is the entire point of the Tex Avery cartoon "Cock-a-Doodle-Dog".
  • Total Drama Revenge of the Island: Brick's alarm clock plays a Reveille every morning, which annoys his teammates. Scott responds by taking the alarm clock to the confessional, punching it three times (doing no visible damage), then dropping it in the toilet, at which point it goes off again and causes the toilet to erupt like a geyser. It goes off a third time later in the episode, also while Scott is using the confessional.
  • In an episode of The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat, we have the Everything Talks variant.
Alarm clock: YOU'RE LATE FOR YOUR DAAAAAAAY!
Felix: How 'bout a nice gentle ding-ding next time?
    Alarm clock: Life's tough, pally.
Felix: [turns his tail into a mallet and smashes the clock] You can say that again, Clarence.
  • Undergrads:
    • In an episode, Nitz has stupidly told Kimmy Burton that he has a travel clock with an assload of features. While he's trying to find a clock to buy on the internet Rocko shows up and has nowhere else to go. Rocko decides the two of them should spend Friday night getting wasted rather than looking for a clock. Nitz doesn't drink and spends the whole night worrying about the clock. When he wakes up an hour before he meets Kimmy to give it to her he realizes he's fucked and Gimpy tells him to relax and it's on its way. When it arrives he goes to get ready to meet Kimmy. But since it's a travel clock designed for different timezones the alarm goes off waking up a hungover Rocko. Nitz returns to the room to find Rocko smashing it with a bat. Later, when Gimpy messages for help over the computer, Rocko holds up the same bat and say "Smash?"
    • In another episode, Rocko is woken from his stupor by an annoying noise and reaches out to smash the alarm clock... only to remember he doesn't own an alarm clock. He opens his eyes to discover that he actually smashed the keyboard for his computer, and the noise is coming from downstairs.
  • The Venture Bros.' own Brock Samson did this in his college years to Rusty's alarm clock, mostly just to show how intimidating he was.
  • X-Men:
    • In one episode of X-Men: The Animated Series, Wolverine is shown being woken up by an alarm clock, which he instinctively destroys with his claws. He then remarks that he hates when he does that.
    • One episode of X-Men: Evolution features a variant: Kitty Pryde phases her hand through her alarm clock. Her phasing power disrupts electronics she passes through.
