  • Acid Attack: Reptile uses an Acid Bubble that pops in Jedah's face, blinding him. This is actually allowed by the announcer since this is a natural technique of Reptile's.
  • Alternate Self: The versions of Babidi, Zangya, and Cheelai in this episode come from an alternate timeline where Babidi was somehow able to brainwash the latter two into serving him.
  • Amazon Chaser: After Rajang returns to her teammates after her first match, Tang compliments her for being very strong, which Rajang thanks her for. And then she smells that Tang wants to mate with her, which the Horse Zodiac tries to get her to forget about. Reptile also makes a comment that having a mate that could easily defeat him in combat would be a plus in his eyes.
  • An Arm and a Leg: One of Metallix's spin-dashes results in Rajang losing an arm. Doesn't stop her from using it to beat her foe with.
  • Attack the Tail: When Rajang tries to charge at Poppy, the possum leaps out of the way and grabs her tail, swinging the ape onto her side. Rajang gets back at Poppy by grabbing her tail and flinging her around like a flail, before slamming her down to the ground.
  • Berserk Button: When Johnny Cage jokes that he'll go easy on Tang to prevent accidentally turning her into glue, the horse zodiac gets furious at the remark and kills her foe by breaking his neck.
  • Big "NO!": When Kimberly questions if Reptile eating Jedah's head was necessary, he justifies it by not wanting the body to rot and then asks Kimberly if she wants to try it. To which Kimberly turns him down with "Hell no! Thanks for the offer, but still, NO!"
    • Metallix yells one as Pickle being to tear him apart.
  • Bond One-Liner: After killing Rajang, Metallix gives a mocking compliment to the skills of his slain opponent.
Metallix: You did well...for a monkey! HAHAHA!
  • Bring It: After Muhammed Ali lands a jab into Metallix's side, Metallix yells "ENOUGH!", to which Muhammed replies by taunting him with "I was about to say the same thing! C'mon! C'MON!".
    • And after Majin Zangya mentions that Bojack was right about the method of breaking necks is fun:
Johnny Cage: Sorry, gorgeous, but you won't be snapping THIS neck. Come at me! C'mon!
  • Blood-Splattered Warrior: After Amy headbutts Metallix, he's had enough and uses his speed to confuse her before spin-dashing into her so much they bury through the ground. A few minutes later, he comes out, caked in her blood.
  • Broke Your Arm Punching Out Cthulhu: In kicking Pyron's head clean off his body, Tang gets a limp in the leg she used for the act in the remaining matches she's in.
  • Brought Down to Normal: The characters that have superhuman abilities (like Goku and Metallix) get suppressed or removed so that they don’t immediately obliterate all the other challengers in their matches. This rule gets repealed for the final match.
  • The Bus Came Back: 17 people come back for this Arena: Reptile, Tang, Tsunade, Yourichi Shihoin, Poppy O'Possum, Lord Raptor, Goku, Yamcha, Vega, Shirou Ogami, Michiru Kagemori, Makoto Nanaya, Mountain, Johnny Cage, VixZ, Amy Rose, and Baozi all return from previous Arenas.
    • Back for the Dead: And unfortunately for Poppy, her heart ends up giving out while fighting Pickle in the third match of the episode.
  • Call-Back: Johnny Cage’s line upon discovering he’s on a team of anthropomorphic animals harkens back to a similar line Powergirl made when the same thing happened to her:
Power Girl (Episode 4): It's like a Disney cartoon, but for horny people.

Johnny Cage (Episode 34): It's like a Disney movie directed by pervs. What has my life come to?
  • Clip Its Wings: After avoiding a slash from Jedah’s wings, he grabs the base of them and rips them off.
  • Combat Pragmatist: After Dr. Gero’s attempt of taking energy from Pickle and attacking him fails, he plans on having Pickle and the Raging Brachydios fight each other, with him destroying whoever the weakened victim is. However, he doesn't get the chance to implement this plan when Pickle colliding with the Raging Brachydios causes an explosion that incinerates Gero.
  • Continuity Nod: While it still comes to a shock, Yourichi is able to remember that normal people can see a Soul Reaper like her after the last Arena she was in.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Several of the matches end rather quickly. The biggest examples comes from both of Dr. Fetus' matches. His first match between him Marco, and Tsunade has Dr. Fetus effortlessly eliminates them by throwing the paralyzed Marco at Tsunade, which knocks them both out of the ring. And in the second round where he's pitted against Pickle, all he does is shove his middle finger into Pickles' nose, where Pickle breaks the glass protecting his body before being slapped into the crater caused by Michiru's eliminatation of Shirou.
  • Curse Cut Short: After Mike Tyson is immobilized by Kenshiro, he begins to yell "Son of a-" but gets teleported out before he can finish.
  • The Day the Music Lied: There are many cases where a theme for a particular character plays during a match, only for them to lose. In a few matches in the first round, they're even the first one to lose.
  • Death by Irony: Metallix, the pinnacle of future robotic engineering, is ultimately destroyed by Pickle, a caveman.
  • Designated Girl Fight: All the matches involving Kyoko barring the final one exclusively have female contestants fighting each other.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: In-Universe; Yamcha is left completely shocked at how Ty-Lee was able to defeat Goku of all people, complete with a Jaw Drop.
  • Do Not Go Gentle: Poppy, realizing that she's going to lose to Rajang, decides she's going to make sure Rajang remembers this day. After performing a Punch Parry with Rajang, the possum manages to punch one of her horns off before her heart gives out.
  • Enemy Mine: In the final match, Kyoko and Kenshiro agree to take out Metallix before they resume with their fight, knowing that letting Metallix win would be a very bad thing to happen.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: As Makoto is telling a story from Ryu's time in the Smash tournaments to Little Mac, she brings up this one boxer that couldn’t get back on the stage. And then she notices that Little Mac looks very familiar:
Makoto: There was this one boxer who kept getting launched off the stage over and over and couldn’t get back on it! And he...kind of...looked like you...ah, yikes. No offense!
  • Eye Scream: The acid properties in Reptile's spit ends up getting into Jedah's and Rajang's eyes when he fights them in his matches, but not enough to completely blind them.
  • Fighting Your Friend: Michiru and Shirou end up having to fight each-other during one match, but they treat it as sparring, at least.
  • Flipping the Bird: Dr. Fetus does this to anyone who annoys him, which happens A LOT. He flips the audience the double birds when they boo him for making the match between him, Marco, and Tsunade incredibly short and unsatisfying. His final act in the episode is him shoving his middle finger into Pickle's nose in some attempt to cause some pain, and making one final middle finger as he's slapped into the crater caused by the previous match.
  • Full-Name Basis: To differentiate between the two Makotos, Makoto Nanaya gets referred to by her full name in the story since she has a known last name.
  • Girl on Girl Is Hot: After the risque match between Kyoko Usagi, Sindel, and Makoto Nanaya, Michiru catches Shirou blushing from it, with him trying to justify it as admiring Kyoko's techniques. Michiru doesn't buy it and demands some back-rubs from him when they get back.
  • Grievous Harm with a Body: After grabbing Demitri, Rajang uses him as a club to try and crush Poppy with.
    • Dr. Fetus wins his match against Marco and Tsunade by tossing the paralyzed Marco into Tsunade, launching them out the ring.
    • Rajang uses the arm that Metallix had severed from her body as a weapon to beat him with.
  • Groin Attack: Vega ends up falling victim to Johnny Cage's iconic Nut Punch move.
    • When Makoto kicks Pyron in the face after getting gored on his horns, it prevents him from avoiding a kick from Tang, which slams into his crotch.
    • After kicking Pickle in the eyes, Michiru punches him several times in the crotch, with the weight of each punch being compared to a megaton.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: After taking Jedah's wings off, Reptile then uses them to slice him in half.
    • Pickle kills Metallix by smashing his claws into his body and ripping him into two.
  • High-Voltage Death: When Dimitri manages to get his fangs to bite into Rajang's neck, she panics, which causes her voltage to surge throughout his entire body, frying him to a crisp.
  • History Repeats Itself: The prize Baskerra gives to Pickle after winning the tournament is to send him to a world similar to the one he was born in before the asteroid crashed down and he got preserved in a saline rock formation. Specifically, the Goodbye Volcano High universe, just as the asteroid is approaching and is going to destroy their world. Baskerra then gives Pickle a temporary power boost to destroy it, with Pickle charging straight for it. While it isn't shown, it's inferred that Pickle succeeded in his task.
  • I'm Okay!: As Mike Tyson is getting excited over all the weird (from his perspective) fighters, he slaps Pickle's shoulder asking if he's been seeing all this. Pickle responds by instinctively flicking him into a wall, to which Mike yells that he's okay.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: After the Primordial Malenzo's attempt of stomping on Elena fails, he uses a backup plan he made in case it didn't work, which was stabbing her with his tail, and then throws her body into the air.
  • Innocently Insensitive: While Makoto is telling Little Mac the exploits Sakura mentioned Ryu had in the Smash tournaments, she recalls one story of this boxer who got repeatedly launched off the stage and couldn’t get back on it, not realizing that Little Mac was said boxer until after finishing the story. By the time she realizes her mistake, Little Mac just tells her not to bring it up again.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: After the brainwashing Babidi put on Metallix gets removed since it violated the rules, he panics and tries to intimidate Metallix by telling him he still has some tricks in him, but Metallix throws him into the air before slamming him back down, with the impact sending pieces of him flying before he can finish.
Babidi: Stay back! I still have some tricks up my-GURK!
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Michuru and Shirou are forced to fight each other in one of the matches in the second round.
  • Make an Example of Them: Babidi gets sent to the first match along with Metallix to demonstrate the 'no powers' rule the tournament has, with the brainwashing spell Babidi put on Metallix vanishing. Metallix, not happy at what Babidi tried to do to him to say the least, reduces him to paste.
  • Mêlée à Trois: Essentially every match in the first round and the last round in general.
  • Never Heard That One Before: After avoiding one of Mountain's attacks, Yamcha jokes "Uh, nice kitty?" to which Mountain replies with "Like I haven’t heard that one before."
  • No Body Left Behind: In his first match, Metallix completely atomizes Babidi's and Muhammed Ali's bodies.
    • Demitri gets his body fried to a crisp by Rajang's voltage surging throughout his body, which then turns to ashes after she punches his body into the ground.
    • Dr. Gero gets incinerated from the explosion caused by the Raging Brachydios's fist and Pickles' body colliding.
    • Kenshiro and Kyoko's bodies by Metallix firing several energy balls at them.
  • Neck Snap: VixZ attempts to do this to Shirou as he's distracted from Kitty clawing him by slamming her extended fingers into the back of his neck. Shirou's sense of smell is able to detect her however and has her fingers strike Kitty's head instead.
    • The Primordial Malenzo kills Clay by biting his jaw and then twisting his jaws, breaking his neck.
    • As Vega is left reeling from the nut punch he got from Johnny, Majin Zangya comes behind him and snaps his neck.
    • After Johnny makes a tasteless joke about not wanting to turn her into glue, Tang gets mad and puts her thighs around his neck and snaps it.
  • Offhand Backhand: When Reptile turns invisible in his first match, Jedah just backhands him, having smelt his flesh to detect where he was.
    • After killing Kenshiro, Metallix backhands Kyoko, who was trying to sneak up on him.
  • Off with His Head!: Reptile kills Jedah by biting off and swallowing his head whole.
    • Tang finishes Pyron off by kicking him in the head with enough force to take it off.
    • Reptile gets his head ripped off by Rajang.
    • Metallix kills Rajang by spin-dashing sideways to her neck, with his spikes acting as a chainsaw, decapitating her.
  • Oh, Crap!: At the beginning of the match between Pai Chan, Jedah, and Reptile, Pai Chan takes a look at the other two combatants, and exclaims "Uh oh. This could be a problem!"
    • After the Primordial Malezno slaps Kimberly down with his tail, she mutters "Oh shit..." as her eyes widen with terror before the Primordial Malenzo decides to fling her into a wall.
  • People Puppets: In the match between Goku, Rom, and Ty-Lee, Ty-Lee gets on top on Rom and strikes various nerves in his body to use attacks at her command.
  • Post-Victory Collapse: After defeating Ty-Lee and winning the match, Kyoko collapses to the ground, as the technique she used to numb all sensations in her pressure points had taken its toll on her.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: Johnny Cage, after grabbing Zangya, begins spinning her around before shouting "And it's a HOME RUN!" as he throws her into an empty part of the stadium, with the impact causing some of the structure to collapse onto her.
  • Pressure Point: A recurring tactic seen in these fights is one contestant striking the nerves of another to immobilize them, making them easy pickings. Kyoko averts this when she fights Ty-Lee by using a technique that makes her pressure points lose all sensation, which helps Kyoko defeat Ty-Lee.
  • Punch Catch: During Metallix's fight with Muhammed Ali, he grabs one of his fists and crushes it.
  • Punched Across the Room: When the Raging Brachydios gets ready to fight Clay in their Team Introduction, Mountain interferes and punches the Brachydios into a wall.
  • Punch Parry: After Poppy declares she'll make Rajang remember their fight, Poppy and Rajang's fists collide, with Rajang howling in pain from the impact.
    • When Little Mac's fist connects with Michuru gorilla fist, sparks fly out and both are pushed back.
    • Pickle, after slamming Michiru down to the ground with her body in his jaws, tossed her to the side and smells her body to check if she can still fight. Then Pickle reflexively blocking her fist with his when she attempts a sneak attack.
  • Return to Shooter: As Metallix fires several missiles at Pickle to kill him, Pickle uses a Shockwave Clap, which causes the missiles to fly out of control and right back to Metallix.
  • Ring Out: How many of the contestants get non-fatally eliminated in the matches.
  • Running Gag: Pickle attempting to eat the bodies of the opponents he had defeated, only to get teleported away before he can take a bite. After destroying Metallix, Baskerra gives him an enormous steak after defeating Metallix.
  • The Scapegoat: Knowing that he can’t dodge Mountain's attacks forever, Yamcha gets the heat off him by claiming to Lord Raptor that Mountain said that his music sucks, prompting him to attack Mountain, distracting them both long enough for Yamcha to use a Wolf Fang Fist to defeat both of them.
  • Single Tear: Kenshiro sheds one just before the third match of the episode begins, as Amy and Kazuya's speech about fighting for those they love reminded him that he fights because he lost the ones he loved, and not wanting it to happen to anyone else.
  • Team Killer: Babidi is the first death of the episode by his 'teammate' Metallix atomizing his body for Babidi's attempt to brainwash him.
    • Michiru ends up having to fight and eliminate Shirou when they get pitted against each other in the second round.
  • Theme Music Powerup: In Elena’s first round, Her theme from Street Fighter IV plays as she fights and defeats Baozi and Vidro.
    • In the matches where the Primoridal Malenzo fights Clay and Kimberly in the first round and Elena in the second round, Scarlet Feast from Monster Hunter: Rise: Sunbreak accompanies the fights, with the Primordial Malenzo emerging victorious.
    • The instrumental of Ai Wo Torimodose plays when Kenshiro fights Mike Tyson and Yoruichi, where he defeats them both.
    • When it comes down to just Metallix and Pickle, The Beast plays as Pickle fights and eventually defeats Metallix, with the lyrics of the song interspersed with the fighting.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Poppy, Lord Raptor, Vega, Amy, Reptile, and Johnny Cage get killed once more, with the rest of the returnees merely being eliminated.
  • This Cannot Be!: When Pickle gets close enough to Metallix and slams his claws into Metallix's body, Metallix's final words before being split apart are him being unable to comprehend him being defeated. Doubles as a Villainous Breakdown
Metallix: N-N-NO! THIS CAN'T BE! I AM METALLIX! I AM DESTRUCTION! I AM-AM-AM-AM-DOES NOT COMPUUUUUUUUTE!
  • Token Evil Teammate: Vega for Team 10.
  • Tournament Arc: The second Arena to have a tournament set-up, but this time focusing on (mostly) martial artists instead of the most powerful characters in fiction and has a traditional bracket system this time.
  • A Twinkle in the Sky: The match between Michiru, Little Mac, and Majin Cheelai begins with Little Mac eliminating Majin Cheelai by launching her into the sky with a left hook, calling it this trope word for word.
    • Kenshiro eliminates Yoruichi by spinning her around and throwing her into the sky at a speed that rivals her own.
  • Twitchy Eye: As Marco assures himself that the tournament wouldn’t have him face someone who could do more than punch and kick, Makoto accuses him of thinking that actual techniques wouldn’t measure up, having an eye twitch as she questions him.
  • Use Their Own Weapon Against Them: After Reptile takes Jedah’s Razor Wings off, he uses them to bisect Jedah.
  • Use Your Head: In their match, Amy manages to headbutt Metallix with enough force to send him back. Pickle also headbutts Metallix in the final match.
  • Vengeance Denied: Dr. Fetus shakes his fist in anger after Meat Boy loses in his match between him, Amy, and Kazuya, having been denied the chance to defeat his arch-enemy.
  • Who Writes This Crap?!: When Amy is teleported back to her team after winning her first match, Johnny Cage having listened to her and Kazyua talking about fighting for those they love throughout the match, complains "Who writes this dialogue? I mean, c'mon! This makes my movies look like high art!"
  • You Are Already Dead: A downplayed example occurs when Kenshiro, after striking several pressure points in Mike Tyson's arms, tells him "My fingers have struck the right amount of nerves to immobilize you. It's no use continuing to fight. You're already defeated." seconds before Mike falls down.
    • Kenshiro has a straighter example in his match with the Primordial Malenzo where Kenshiro punches the monster through the beak, sending a shockwave through his body. Kenshiro then tells the Primordial Malenzo "Lay down and rest. You’re already dead.", with the creature dropping dead seconds later.
    • After Kenshiro strikes several blows onto Metallix, he remarks that Metallix should already be dead. To which Metallix replies with "No...YOU are already dead!" and spin-dashes at him. While Kenshiro is able to catch his body, it leaves him open to Metallix transforming back and aiming his arm-cannon at Kenshiro's head, blowing it off.
  • Your Head Asplode: Kenshiro’s head gets destroyed by a point-blank blast from Metallix’s arm-cannon.

Your Winner: Pickle (Buddhe's pick)
