Original air date: 3/1/2002 (produced in 2001)

Episode number: 8b

Vicky and Timmy compete to be the queen of the skate park, with Vicky promising to banish all children if she wins. Timmy trains with Cosmo and Wanda in various exotic locations so he can beat her at her own game.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Adults Are Useless: No one running the skate park does anything to stop Vicky.
  • The Bet: If Vicky wins the skateboarding competition, Timmy and the rest of the children are banished from the skate park for good; if Timmy wins, he becomes the new queen of the skate park.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When Vicky blatantly cheats in the final round and blows up part of the ramp while Timmy is skating down it, Chester saves him by launching his braces off his teeth and making them bridge the pieces together so Timmy can continue across them safely.
  • Braces of Orthodontic Overkill: Chester usually wears what look like regular braces. However, in this episode they kept getting damaged and replaced with ones that do unusual things on occasion, such as sprouting swing sets.
  • Brick Joke: Early on, there's a scene where Francis skateboards down a dangerous ramp and is flung into outer space. Near the end, Vicky refuses to fulfill her end of a bet with Timmy and says he has a better chance of "some loser, 12-year-old wasteroid falling from the sky and plowing me into the ground", at which a flaming Francis reenters the atmosphere and crushes her.
  • Cue the Flying Pigs: When Timmy beats Vicky to determine the new Queen of the Skatepark, she refuses to step down, claiming that he's got a better chance of some loser 12-year-old plummeting from the sky and plowing her into the ground than her gracefully accepting her loss. Francis immediately falls from space right on top of her, and she cheerfully hands over her crown.
  • Ditzy Genius: AJ in this episode, with his constant inability to internalize slang.
  • Gilligan Cut: Wanda assures Timmy his friends will love him, even if he loses. It immediately cuts to AJ saying they won't love Timmy if he loses.
  • I Lied: Vicky goes back on her word to let Timmy be queen when he wins. Fortunately, a Brick Joke stops her.
  • Left The Back Ground Music On: When Chester realizes Vicky stole Timmy's trick, he says it calls for dramatic music, and summons a record player out of his braces.
  • Literal Metaphor: When it's Timmy's turn, Vicky tells him to break a leg. Then explains she meant that literally, and tries to kick Timmy off the ramp.
  • Loophole Abuse: Timmy finds out Da Rules forbid helping him win a skating contest. However, he realizes there's nothing stopping him from making wishes to help him practice, and uses it to travel the world and get to ideal practice spots.
  • Orbital Shot: Timmy has one as he tries on Vicky's crown and is cheered on by all the children.
  • Shout-Out:
  • You Must Be This Tall to Ride: Vicky installs one of these signs on a popular ramp as part of her tyrannical rule as "Queen of the Skate Park". After successfully challenging her for the position, the first thing Timmy does is tear the sign down.
Timmy: Thank you, thank you! And as the new Queen of the Skate Park, I decree... [Pushes a button, making Chester's braces produce a laser that destroys the sign] LET MY PEOPLE SKATE!
