Episode 1: Tower of Glass
Victor goes to visit Vannevar, Ib, Katya, Eva, and Suzanne. They are interrupted by the Second Inquisition.
- Action Bomb: The Second Inquisition attacks in the latter half of the episode.
- An Offer You Can't Refuse: Prince Vannever says that Victor must turn over the Thin Bloods or die. He means it.
- The Cassandra: Victor turns out to have been one of these when the Second Inquisition proves to be a bigger threat than the Thin Bloods.
- Cutting the Knot: Vannever just plans to have Ib kill Victor if he refuses to give up the Thin Bloods.
- Hazy-Feel Turn: Eva's true allegiances are nebulous given she's possibly Brainwashed and Crazy.
- Ironic Echo: Vannevar notices the parallels between the French Revolution and his present circumstances.
- Nerves of Steel: Victor never loses his cool despite coming inches from death.
- Not So Stoic: Ib frenzies due to the danger around her and flees in terror.
- Refuge in Audacity: Victor decides to use the time he's held in a prison of shadows, about to be executed, to negotiate a new treaty with the Camarilla.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: The Inquisitor insults Firstlight for believing Gregory.
- Sorting Algorithm of Evil: The Inquisition arrives and makes fun of the Firstlight amateurs the way they made fun of the SAD.
- Worthy Opponent: Vannevar finally acknowledges Victor as one of these after his attempt to negotiate under pain of death."You speak well and quickly."
Episode 2: Another Broken Heart
Nelli G, Gregory, and Lavender make a movie before dealing with the Second Inquisition.
- Action Bomb: The Second Inquisition attacks in the latter half of the episode.
- The Bus Came Back: Nelli's sister is stated to have moved to Orlando to stay out of the way of the supernatural.
- The Cavalry : Imalia manages to rescue Nelli and the others at the last second.
- Dramatic Irony: X has overthrown Therese...with Jeanette's help.
- Fatal Flaw: Nelli is confidant she can handle anything the Inquisition can throw at her.
- The Film of the Series: Nelli G is doing a movie about her ancestor Petronella.
- Holy Burns Evil: Nelli has her hand horribly burned by holding one of the agents' holy symbols.
- The Mole: Eva confirms that she's acting as this with the Camarilla.
- No-Sell: Nelli's attempt to Presence one of the agents fails miserably and triggers combat.
- Pyrrhic Victory: Gregory, Nelli, and Lavender win against the Second Inquisition but all of them are severely injured. Worse, Nelli's identity is exposed to the Second Inquisition.
- Rank Up: X is stated to be the new Baron of Santa Monica.
- Red Right Hand: Eva now has red eyes she hopes drinking blood from Jasper will help. It doesn't.
- Ships That Pass in the Night: In-universe. Lavender and Gregory describe themselves as this due to their differing shifts.
Episode 3: Night Flowers
Jasper, Chloe, Eva, and Katya have a reunion. Before, again, the Second Inquisition shows up.
- Action Bomb: The Second Inquisition attacks in the latter half of the episode.
- Call-Back: All the way back to the very first episode. In another fight, during another visit to the Griffith Observatory, Jasper finds himself leaping onto the roof of a moving car.Alex/Jasper: As a callback... to the very first time I was here, I am going to land on top of the SUV!
- Curiosity Killed the Cast: Jasper's Nosferatu flaw forces him to stop and examine a magical artifact mid-battle.
- Dramatic Irony: Chloe now knows about Jasper and could be in a relationship with him but he is in a relationship with Eva (but has to pretend he's not). Katya wants to kill Jasper to help Eva but is unaware the latter still loves him.
- Heroic Sacrifice: A mild example where Jasper attempts to lure out all of the Inquisitors to let Eva escape (but using Obfuscate to cover his tracks).
- Holy Burns Evil: The Inquisition now has a chemical weapon that burns the skin of vampires with the wailing of their victims.
- Love Triangle: The current situation with Jasper and Eva regarding their relationships, though it's more like a love square.
- The Missus and the Ex: Chloe, Katya, Jasper, and Eva are a complicated relationship to say the least.
- Monumental Damage: Chloe destroys a statue of Galileo outside of Griffith Observatory.
- Shout-Out: The new weapon the Inquisition wields is from the upcoming Bloodhunt game.
- Snark-to-Snark Combat: Katya and Jasper can barely stop this even during an attack.
- Unrequited Love: It is clear by the ending, where Eva abandons her, that Eva has no remaining feelings for Katya.
- Vampire Vannabe: Averted. Chloe no longer wants to be a vampire versus an independent ghoul.
Episode 4: Live on the Moon
"Well, I'd like to visit the moon.
On a rocket ship, high in the air.

Ellenore, Annabelle, and Carver meet with the leader of the Second Inquisition.
- Action Bomb: Adrian finally runs out of patience halfway through the story.
- And Then What?: Ellenore asks Annabelle if she really thinks driving the Camarilla out of LA will improve things.
- Big Bad: Adrian appears to be this for the final season.
- Bomb-Throwing Anarchists: Annabelle has become one of these under Carver, which wasn't far to go anyway, and it somewhat horrifies Ellenore.
- Downer Ending: Annabelle is staked by the Inquisition and falls into their hands.
- Good Shepherd: Adrian presents himself as this. He's lying.
- Knight Templar: The Inquisition's Gladius Dei are close to a literal version of this. The fact their name means The Sword of God certainly helps.
- Not in This for Your Revolution: Ellenore bluntly rejects Annabelle's request for her to join the Anarchs.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Adrian portrays himself as one of these. He is most certainly not.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Ellenore gives one to Annabelle."You can only protect someone as far as your arms can reach and you sent me far away."
- The Reveal: Ramona embraced Ellenore at Annabelle's behalf.
- Unexplained Recovery: Gregory seems to have recovered from his gunshot wound very well in what appears to be the same night.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Ellenore gives Annabelle this for abandoning her for a year.
- Van Helsing Hate Crimes: The Inquisition targets not only Annabelle's friends to manipulate her but also her lover Mark.
- Villain with Good Publicity: Adrian almost wins our heroes over with his kindly facade.
Episode 5: Isolated
X and Jeanette rule the Barony of Santa Monica.
- Action Bomb: X goes willingly with the Second Inquisition and the only violence is done by Jeanette.
- Continuity Nod: X mentions Kyoko once set Jasper on fire.
- Dramatic Irony: The Second Inquisition know Therese and Jeanette are the same person but our heroes don't.
- Evil Is Petty: Jeanette and X deny a petitioner his domain just because he got it from Therese.
- FaceāHeel Turn: Delilah has sacrificed being a human-like vampire to become a true Kindred.
- Good Shepherd: Elijah claims that he can save X's soul.
- I'm a Humanitarian: Delilah has committed diablerie at least once.
- Puppet King: X is obviously not the real power in Santa Monica despite being co-Baron.
- Psychic Powers: X uses his Auspex to read every supplicant who comes to Santa Monica.
- Redemption Equals Death: Jeanette says this will happen to X if he goes with the Inquisition.
- Shout-Out: X is wearing the clothing of the Malkavian player character from Bloodlines.
- Took a Level in Badass: Delilah has gone from being a Thin Blood to being a Tremere via diablerie.
- Vampires Are Rich: Delilah is making money hand over fist with her club.
- Vampires Are Sex Gods: Jeanette is apparently on OnlyFans.
- Villainous Breakdown: Jeanette suffers one of those when X refuses to obey her commands.
Episode 6: Cry Havoc
The vamily reunites as Annabelle remains captured.
- And Then What?: Adrian uses this against Annabelle by saying that without the Camarilla, which has fallen in LA, that she has nothing to live for.
- Broken Pedestal: Annabelle feels, justifiably, betrayed by Adrian.
- The Bus Came Back: Fiorenza makes her first appearance in a couple of seasons.
- Deal with the Devil: Ib is offered the Princeship of Los Angeles if she wants it.
- Easily Forgiven: Annabelle forgives X despite the fact he tried to murder her.
- Enemy Civil War: Katya and Aurora have a battle with Katya being A Lighter Shade of Black.
- Extra-Strength Masquerade: The Camarilla or Second Inquisition (or more likely both) have Los Angeles believe a "turf war" is being waged despite all the supernatural shenanigans.
- History Repeats: Vannevar, like La Croix before him, is cut loose by the Camarilla.
- Not Quite the Right Thing: Eva admits that her plan to be The Mole in the Camarilla has backfired horribly.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Adrian tells Annabelle that she doesn't want to win her war, just fight it.
- The Scapegoat: Fiorenza says the Camarilla will lay the disaster at the feet of the Anarchs.
- Worst News Judgement Ever: The Puppy Parade is more important than the massive war going on between vampires and hunters.
Episode 7: Sharpen your Knife
The vamily prepares for war with the Inquisition.
- Arbitrary Skepticism: Victor is a vampire who has met Gargoyles and been in an enchanted labyrinth. He finds the Society of Leopold being real to be shocking.
- Charm Person: Elijah is affected by Annabelle's Presence into assisting in her and X's escape.
- Damsel out of Distress: Annabelle successfully escapes the Inquisition with X.
- Dude, Not Funny!: Victor saying, "All Hail the Dark Father" offends Gary Golden who has fought the Sabbat.
- Emergency Transformation: Nelli plans to turn Lavender into a Toreador to save her life. Ib disapproves.
- Enemy Mine: Ib finally makes an alliance with Victor to stop the Inquisition.
- Godzilla Threshold: They debate using the Labyrinth to destroy the Inquisition's base. Zellios suggests this is a bad idea.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Katya was delaying Aurora deliberately despite the fact she had very little chance of escaping the Second Inquisition as a result.
- Not Quite the Right Thing: Zellios admits constructing the Labyrinths was probably a bad idea.
- Shout-Out: Annabelle throws X like a baseball in homage to Wolverine and Colossus."Fastball special, asshole!"
- Uncertain Doom: Katya and Aurora are attacked by the Second Inquisition. We don't see their fate.
- What Have I Become?: Ib regrets becoming Kindred.
Episode 8: Reign in Hell
The vamily moves to rescue Annabelle from the Second Inquisition.
- As Long as There Is Evil: Annabelle has a heroic one as she says that as long as evil exists, there will be a need to be rebels.
- Big Damn Heroes: The vamily show up in the nick of time to decimate the Second Inquisition.
- Breaking the Fellowship: Blaming Victor and Nelli for attracting attention, Jasper leaves the coterie.
- Driven to Suicide: Adrian says this is the best option for dealing with vampirism.
- Killed Off for Real: Most of Victor's security team is dead.
- I Did What I Had to Do: Annabelle's reaction to killing Adrian.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Adrian is impaled with a giant cross that Annabelle hits him with.
- Pre-Mortem One-Liner: "God's wrath falls heaviest on the faithful" by Jasper.
- Rule of Symbolism: Adrian is killed by the very artifact that he venerates.
- See You in Hell: Adrian has these as his final words. Annabelle agrees.
- Special Guest: Matt Mercer as Cuthbert Beckett.
- These Hands Have Killed: Annabelle finally takes a human life by killing Adrian.
Episode 9: Valediction
The denouement for the entire series.
- And the Adventure Continues: New York City is revealed to be the next location for a chronicle.
- Breaking the Fellowship: Nelli, Jasper, Annabelle, and Victor part ways.
- Driven to Suicide:
- X decides to enter torpor for an indeterminate amount.
- Eva decides to meet the sun.
- Enemy Mine: Drew Handler makes a deal with Nelli G to keep a lower profile.
- History Repeats: Victor finds none of his allies are interested in joining together against the Camarilla and Second Inquisition.
- Hunter of His Own Kind: Eva turns all of her knowlege of the Tremere over to Handler. This is the work of seventy years of research.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Jasper tells Victor and Nelli they both suck.
- Sequel Hook: Annabelle travels to New York, where a new Chronicle has been confirmed. Also, X's underwater hiding place was implied to have been used to contain... something... which has broken free by the time X and Jasper reach it.
- Ship Sinking:
- Jasper and Eva officially break up.
- Nelli and Victor are now at odds over who will rule Los Angeles.
- Averted with Annabelle and Marc when she tells him to seek her out when he's healed.
- Uncertain Doom: X and Eve both meet this in the book.
- Wound That Will Not Heal: X suffers from of these from feeding on Adrian. He no longer can derive nourishment from feeding.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Annabelle says this to Victor and confirms he's a Parental Substitute to her.
