A chicken ghost named Florentine takes over Chowder's body, causing problems for the gang.

Tropes:

  • Balloon Belly: The whole group gets one after eating Florentine.
  • Creator Cameo: During the Gravy Yard boat tour, C.H Greenblatt's puppet is shown controlling the piranhas, which marks the 3rd time it appears in the series.
  • Creepy Cemetery: Mung and Shnitzel have to take Chowder to the "Gravy Yard" to remove the evil spirit from his body.
  • Demonic Possession: When Chowder eats the flurkey, he becomes possessed by Florentine the poultrygeist.
  • Eating the Enemy: While Mung and Shnitzel are trying to figure out how to get rid of the rotten flurkey that's causing poltergeist activity around their kitchen, Chowder decides to solve the problem by eating it.
    • Later, after the group traps Florentine in a freshly baked flurkey, they all eat the now-talking poultry dish.
  • The End... Or Is It?: Chowder looks at the camera and says "The end!" right before his face changes back into Florentine's and the episode ends.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: Chowder, after being possessed by the poultrygeist Florentine. Strangely, the voice of Florentine by himself was not deep, nor was his voice after he possessed the newly cooked flurkey.
  • Exorcist Head: Chowder spins his head around to face Mung and Shnitzel after he's been possessed, followed by Dramatic Thunder.
Chowder: Oh, look! I have a tail!
  • Faux Horrific: Mung reacts with the same horror to the possessed Chowder twirling his finger as he does to him spinning his head around 360 degrees.
  • I Have Many Names: Said by Florentine during his introduction to Mung and Shnitzel.
  • Implausible Deniability: Truffles asks Mung if he's opening portals in the kitchen again and he says no, as a portal opens behind him.
  • It Came from the Fridge: The poultrygeist came from an old flurkey made by Mung years before that got lost behind the fridge and went so bad that it became evil.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: When Mung explains that there's a treadmill in the Gravy Yard so they can "exercise" the demons, Shnitzel is so disgusted by the pun that for once he says something other than "radda". He says "wah wah" as Losing Horns play in the background.
  • Let Us Never Speak of This Again: Mung says this at the end of the episode.
  • Non Sequitur, *Thud*: After getting hit on the head with a fruit bowl multiple times by the poultrygeist, Mung says "Did somebody get the license plate of that fruit bowl?"
  • Nothing but Skin and Bones: The rest of the group makes Chowder run on a treadmill until he's this so that he'll be too skinny for Florentine to want to stay in his body.
Chowder: Mung? Can we go back to the kitchen now? I'm so hungry!
  • Poltergeist: The ghost of one of Mung's past dishes haunts the restaurant and causes supplies and ingredients to float all over the room before it possesses Chowder.
  • Pun-Based Title: A play on "poultry" and "poltergeist".
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Chowder's eyes turn red when Florentine is in control.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The Snackro-nomicon is a parody of the Necromonicon from the Evil Dead franchise.
    • River Pretzel Stix is a spoof of the Greek mythical river, River Styx.
    • Florentine parodies the famous "Your mother sucks cocks in hell" line from The Exorcist when he tells Mung "Your mother was a polar bear, your father was a figure skater!"
  • Stab the Salad: The episode starts with Chowder approaching Mung with a giant mallet raised over his head as Mung screams in horror and as he brings it down, red liquid splatters everywhere. It turns out he was just using it to mash squish-squash.
    • Shnitzel pulls the same gag later when Mung asks him how they should get the demon out of Chowder.
  • Throw the Book at Them: When Mung tells Shnitzel to use the book on Florentine, he flips through the Snackro-nomicon briefly before throwing it at Chowder.
  • Tome of Eldritch Lore: The Snackro-nomicon.
  • Vomit Indiscretion Shot: Florentine in Chowder's body and Mung both puke on Shnitzel several times.
  • Your Mom: The Magical Incantation Mung and Shnitzel use to open a portal to the Gravy Yard is "Oongawa, yo mama don't take no shower and she stink."
