Recap / Chowder S 3 E 6 The Apprentice Scouts

Go To

Gazpacho serves as the leader of a scouting troop called the Apprentice Scouts.

  • All for Nothing: It turns out Chowder's worries about Gazpacho having Rabie-C's (the show's version of rabies) are this. Gazpacho being worked up and sweaty was because he is extremely desperate for his scouts to earn a merit badge or else he'll get fired. And the foam from his ears are just his eardrums popping due to the high altitudes.
  • Come with Me If You Want to Live: Said by Chowder, under the assumption that Gazpacho has Rabie-C's, complete with Terminator accent.
  • Dwindling Party: Due to Gazpacho's new abrasive crazed method of giving merit badges, the scouts in the troop drop like flies, until it's just Chowder, Gorgonzola, and Panini. Gazpacho writes it all off as the scouts 'not wanting it bad enough'.
  • It Has Been an Honor: Subverted. When Chowder, Gorgonzola, and Panini are cornered by a seemingly crazed Gazpacho and think it's the end, Chowder says they really weren't the two people he wanted to die with. Gorgonzola mentions he feels the same.
  • Merit Badges for Everything: This seems to be Gazpacho's leadership style.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: Gazpacho randomly gains bat wings and "hawk vision". The former is handwaved as "loose skin".
  • Out of Focus: This is the only episode of the entire series where Mung Daal does not appear, nor is he even mentioned.
  • Properly Paranoid: Chowder deliberately directs the boat down a terrifying looking route instead of a peaceful sunset because "(he doesn't) like the look of that sun." Turns out that said sun was waiting with a club to beat them.
Sun: Darn, I almost had them.
  • Together in Death: Apparently, Panini intends for herself and Chowder to be buried together in a tomb one day. Chowder is naturally disturbed.
Chowder: If we make it through this, you and I are having a serious talk.
