  • In 3rd Rock from the Sun, Dick, Harry and Sally present themselves as siblings despite the fact that Dick is visibly at least two decades older than the others. Justified as they are actually space aliens in human form who chose their appearance without understanding the concept of age.
  • On 7th Heaven, the twins Sam and David are born during their eldest brother Matt's first year of college. Mom Annie actually revealed her pregnancy to dad Eric at Matt's high school graduation.
  • According to Jim: Towards the end of the show, Jim and Cheryl had two twin sons named Gordon and Jonathan when their other three kids, Ruby, Gracie and Kyle were entering their tweens/teens.
  • In Anne with an E, this applies to Mary's children. She had Elijah when she was very young and had Delphine years later after marrying Bash. Elijah was already a young adult by the time Delphine was born.
  • Arrested Development: Lindsay was adopted by Lucille and George. The fifth season reveals her to be Lucille's half-sister.
  • Arrow:
    • While her birth year is not known, Talia al Ghul is Older Than She Looks thanks to the Lazarus Pit, and is seen as a young girl in 1958. Her younger half-sister, Nyssa, was born in 1985, so they are three decades apart.
    • Oliver Queen's children fit this. His son, William, was born in 2006, while his daughter, Mia, was born in 2019, meaning they are thirteen years apart.
  • Beverly Hills, 90210: Erin Silver is born the summer before her elder half-siblings Kelly and David's senior year at West Beverly (when Kelly is around 17 and David is around 16). When Erin herself starts going to West Beverly in the sequel series, Kelly's a guidance counselor there.
  • The Big Bang Theory: Shortly after his mother's death, Howard, who is in his mid-to-late thirties at this point in the series, is visited by a twenty-something young man named Josh who turns out to be his paternal half-brother.
  • On black•ish, DeVante is born around the time his eldest sister Zoey is heading off to college. In fact, all of his siblings are about a decade or so older than him.
  • Blossom: Blossom's father Nick marries his girlfriend Carol at the start of Blossom's senior year of high school, resulting in Blossom gaining a stepsister, Kennedy, who is about ten years younger than her. At the time, Blossom's oldest brother Anthony is expecting his first child with his wife and her other brother Joey is college aged. Towards the end of the series, Carol announces she's pregnant.
  • BOB ❤️ ABISHOLA: Bob Wheeler is 50 years old at the beginning of the series. There's a twelve-year age gap between him and his fraternal twin siblings Douglas and Christina, who are only 38 in the first season. It's mentioned that Bob dropped out of college following his father's untimely passing in order to help his mother take care of the twins.
  • Boy Meets World: Cory's younger brother Josh is born when Cory is in his first year of college, his older brother Eric is in his twenties, and his younger sister Morgan is thirteen years old. In the Sequel Series Girl Meets World, Josh is only three years older than Cory's daughter Riley and becomes a love interest for her best friend Maya.
  • Breaking Bad:
    • In Better Call Saul, Chuck McGill is 16 years older than his brother Jimmy (the future Saul Goodman), meaning Jimmy was born around the time Chuck graduated high school, which might explain the lack of any real connection between the siblings, a major reason for their series-defining conflict.
    • In the Breaking Bad series itself:
      • Walter and Skyler White's son Flynn is 16 when his little sister Holly is born.
      • Jesse Pinkman is in his mid-twenties while his younger brother Jake is at least in middle school.
      • Andrea is in her mid-twenties and already a parent, while her brother Tomás is still a kid, making him only a few years older than his nephew, Andrea's son Brock.
  • The eight siblings of the titular family of Bridgerton. There is about a two-decade difference between oldest son Anthony and youngest daughter Hyacinth. Since their father died before Hyacinth was born, Anthony is the only paternal figure the youngest siblings have ever known.
  • Call the Midwife: A frequent trope, as the show is set before the invention and then widespread use of contraception. Women are portrayed as marrying young and continuing to have children until they hit menopause, meaning the oldest child in a Massive Numbered Siblings family is a teenager (or older!) in an episode where their mother gives birth to a new baby. It's rarely the focus of an episode, but the 2012 Christmas special features a teenager who abandons her baby due to shame about her Teen Pregnancy. Her mother laments she missed the signs because she was busy with her own pregnancy. And a series 6 episode that features an adult daughter and her mother who are estranged due to a Maligned Mixed Marriage, and who are pregnant at the same time. Of the main cast, there is Timothy Turner, whose widowed father remarries when he's a preteen and in a few years, goes from only child to the oldest of four. As of series 12, he's at least two years into college studying medicine while his siblings are just starting primary school.
  • Chicago Fire: Sylvie Brett is the result of a Teen Pregnancy her birth mother Julie had when she was 16. In the present day, Julie ends up pregnant again at 46, making her an Absurdly Elderly Mother. She later dies giving birth to Sylvie's half-sister Amelia.
  • Charmed (2018): By the time Harry's son Carter dies of old age, he has at least one adult daughter but also a four-year-old son named Georgie, who was conceived via an affair with his married neighbor.
  • An episode of Chicago Med features a recently retired couple with a grown son who come to the hospital because the wife is having unexplained stomach pains. It turns out she’s in labour. At the end of the episode their son shows up with his wife and daughter who is a year older than her own aunt.
  • Cobra Kai: In season 5, Johnny Lawrence and Carmen Diaz are expecting a child who will be 17 years younger than both Johnny's son Robby and Carmen's son Miguel.
  • The Cosby Show: Rudy Huxtable is about fifteen years younger than her oldest sibling Sondra. She's still in elementary school when Sondra gets married and gives birth to twins. She's also eleven years younger than Denise, her second oldest sibling. At the beginning of the second season, Denise starts 12th grade while Rudy starts 1st grade.
  • In The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Deet appears to be much older than her little brother Bobb'N. Their exact ages aren't given, but Deet appears to be in her late teens or early twenties by human standards, while Bobb'N is clearly a child who is only just learning to talk properly and still uses Baby Talk at times.
  • Dark Shadows:
    • Barnabas Collins and his little sister, Sarah, look like they could be father and daughter rather than brother and sister. note
    • Barnabas and Sarah's father, Joshua, is a great deal older than his younger brother, Jeremiah (with the two's sister Abigail being somewhere in the middle but overall closer to Joshua). Jeremiah is very close in age to Barnabas, and the two are stated to be more like brothers on one occasion. Which makes it all the more tragic when Barnabas kills him in a duel.
  • Days of Our Lives: Hope Williams’s maternal half-siblings Steve and Julie were adults when she was born. Hope’s father Doug was actually involved with Julie before marrying her mother Addie, who passed away when Hope was only a baby. A few years after Addie’s death, Doug and Julie got married, resulting in Julie being Hope’s half-sister and stepmother.
    • Hope’s own children also have a huge age difference between them. She and her husband Bo had their oldest son Shawn before divorcing and remarrying a few years later. Shawn was a teenager when their son Zack is born. note  By the time their daughter Ciara was born, Shawn was an adult with a daughter of his own. Bo also has another daughter Chelsea note  from a previous marriage who is at least a decade older than Zack and Ciara.
  • In Degrassi: The Next Generation, Christine Nelson and Archie Simpson have a son while Christine's daughter Emma is in high school.
  • Derry Girls:
    • Erin Quinn is about fifteen years older than her Living Prop sister Anna.
    • Implied with Erin's grandmother and her sister, Aunt Bridie. From a photograph, Erin's grandmother appears to have been in her fifties when she died ten years previously; while Bridie is currently in her early to mid-seventies and would have been about ten years older than her sister. Also, Erin's mother Mary and aunt Sarah are both around fifteen years younger than Bridie's son Eamonn, who is their first cousin.
  • On Designing Women, Julia Sugarbaker is twelve years older than her "baby sister" Suzanne, and multiple episodes indicate that Julia helped to raise Suzanne. (One episode reveals that they also have a half-brother, from a relationship their father had when their parents were separated, who is roughly halfway between them in age.)
  • Desperate Housewives:
    • Susan and Mike's son MJ is about eighteen years younger than Susan's daughter Julie and Mike's son Zach. Julie is also eighteen years older than her other half-brother Evan from her father Karl's second marriage.
    • By the time Tom and Lynette's youngest child Paige is born, Porter and Preston are college-aged, Parker is a teenager, and Penny is eleven years old. Paige is also over twenty years younger than Tom's daughter Kayla from a previous relationship. At the end of the series, Porter and Julie have a daughter, making Paige an aunt at around three years old.
  • In Dharma & Greg, Dharma is in her 20s when her brother is born.
  • Dynasty (2017): Steven is revealed to be Joseph Anders' son from his affair with Alexis Carrington. He is over a decade older than Anders' daughter, Kirby.
  • Doctor Who: Hinted at; while the Doctor is never seen having any children on-screen, by the First Doctor's introduction he already had a grandchild in Susan Foreman, and the Tenth Doctor does confirm to Rose in one episode that "I was a dad once." He ends up being a Truly Single Parent as the Tenth Doctor, multiple centuries and lifetimes later, with Jenny in "The Doctor's Daughter." Even by Time Lord standards, the gap between the two would be enormous.
  • Eight is Enough: Nicholas Bradford is fifteen years younger than his brother David, fourteen years younger than his sister Mary, thirteen years younger than his sister Joanie, eleven years younger than his sister Susan, and ten years younger than his sister Nancy. He's only ten years old when David and Susan marry their respective spouses in a double wedding. He becomes an uncle at eleven years old after Susan gives birth to his niece Sandra.
  • This seems to be a case with some of the members of the Dingle family in Emmerdale. Although the ages of Zak's children are not mentioned or developed, his daughter Belle (who was born in 1998) has six half-siblings who were mostly adults when they arrived on the show before or after she appeared. Cain, for example, continues to look a whole generation older than her when she was a teenager (there's even a 27-year age difference between Belle and Cain's actors).
  • Los Espookys: Renaldo is around 31 years old, while his younger sister Beatriz turns 15 in the first episode. The large age gap gives them a Sibling Yin-Yang dynamic, with Renaldo being respectful to their mother while maintaining his independence, whereas Beatriz is rude to their mother but quickly caves into their mother's demands as soon as she meets any resistance.
  • Family: The Lawrences' oldest daughter Nancy is a woman in her late twenties, who is a single mother that divorced her husband for his infidelity. Their younger two children, Willie and Letitia, are in their mid to late teens.
  • Family Affair: Cissy was about a decade older than twins Buffy and Jody. Since the three seemed to age in Comic-Book Time (somehow aging two years in five), the two younger kids were Not Allowed to Grow Up when it came to how they dressed and acted, and Kathy Garver was already in her twenties when she was cast as a fifteen-year-old, she ended up looking more like their governess than their sister by the end of the show.
  • Family Ties: In the middle of the third season, Andrew Keaton was born. He's nineteen years younger than Alex, seventeen years younger than Mallory, and eleven years younger than Jennifer.
  • The Flash: In season 4, Joe West conceives a daughter named Jenna with Cecile Horton. By this time, Joe's children from his previous marriage are both adults; Iris is pushing thirty while Wally is in his early twenties.
  • The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: At the time of their younger brother Nicky Banks's birth, Hilary is an adult, and Carlton and Ashley are in high school. Hilary is also about a decade older than Ashley.
  • Fuller House:
    • DJ's oldest son Jackson is about eleven years older than her youngest son Tommy.
    • Jesse and Rebecca's adoptive daughter Pamela is at least twenty years younger than their twins Nicky and Alex.
  • Game of Thrones:
    • At the start of the series, Robb Stark and Jon Snow are around 17 to 18 years old, while their youngest brother Rickon Stark is around six years old, making for a gap of eleven years.
    • Jon Snow is the secret child of Rhaegar Targaryen, Daenerys Targaryen's famed older brother. Jon Snow and Daenerys are about the same age, despite being nephew and aunt. In fact, Dany, the aunt, is the younger of the two by some months. Daenerys wasn't even born when Rhaegar died and he was already an adult with two young children (who also died before Dany's birth).
    • Ramsay Bolton (nĂ© Snow) is a full-grown man when his father Roose Bolton sires another son early in Season 6. It doesn't last very long since Ramsay feeds the boy (and his stepmother) to his dogs a few minutes after birth.
  • GARO:
    • When first introduced in the Beast of the Demon Knight movie, Tsubasa Yamagatana/DAN is around 30 and his sister Rin is 11.
    • GARO: Gold Storm Sho: Gald (mid-20s) and his sister Haruna (13-14) are about a decade apart in age.
    • GARO: Kami no Kiba ~Jinga~: Jinga Mikage is around the age of 27-30 while his brother Touma is a pre-teen.
  • General Hospital's Dylan Hornsby is young enough to be his older brother Ned's son, thanks both to SORASing that makes Ned himself about 20 years older than he should be and their mother Tracy's midlife pregnancy that resulted in Dylan's existence.
  • In Getting Together, Bobby is the legal guardian of his sister Jenny. Jenny is twelve. Bobby's age is never given, although he's stated in one of the tie-in novels to be twenty-three. (Bobby Sherman was in his late twenties at the time.)
  • On Gilmore Girls, Rory's half-sister Gigi, from her father's marriage, is born when she is a senior in high school. Understandable as Rory's parents were sixteen when she was born.
    • Luke's sister Liz remarries later in the series and gives birth to a daughter who is at least 21 years younger than her son, Jess. As with Gigi, this is justified in part because it's heavily implied Jess was the result of a Teen Pregnancy. Neither Jess nor Rory have much contact with their siblings; in the 2016 revival, Gigi is living in France and Doula isn't seen or even mentioned at all.
  • Good Luck Charlie: At the start of the show, Charlie is nine months old. Her closest-in-age sibling is 10-year-old Gabe, while her eldest siblings Teddy and PJ are in high school. This age gap provides some drama on the show... doubly so, when the Duncan kids' youngest sibling Toby is born later in the series.
  • Growing Pains: The youngest Seaver child, Chrissy, was born the day after her closest in age sibling Ben's twelfth birthday. Her other brother Mike was in college and her sister Carol was a senior in high school. In the 2000 reunion movie, Chrissy is a high school student while Mike is married with four kids and Carol is a Wall Street lawyer.
  • House of the Dragon:
    • Rhaenyra is around fifteen when her brother Baelon is born; her mother had previously gone through years of miscarriages and stillbirths. Unfortunately, Baelon dies shortly after his birth along with Queen Aemma. This prompts Viserys to name Rhaenyra his heir, as due to the circumstances he realizes he's unlikely to get a son anytime soon. He then marries the younger Alicent Hightower, Rhaenyra's childhood friend, and manages to produce more children when Rhaenyra is in her late teens. By the time that Rhaenyra is in her twenties and has children of her own, her sons are around the same age as her half-siblings and they have grown up in the Red Keep together. In the books, at least, this led to them often being called "cousins" although they're properly nephews/uncles.
    • Aegon and Viserys Targaryen, the sons of Rhaenyra and Daemon, are much younger than their half-siblings (Rhaenyra's first three sons and Daemon's twin daughters). When they are first introduced to their grandfather, Viserys is an infant while Aegon can't be older than three years old, whereas their half-siblings Jacaerys, Lucerys, Baela and Rhaena are all in their teens (only Joffrey is still a kid, as viewers saw him being born six years earlier).
  • iCarly:
    • Carly Shay's only known sibling is her older brother, Spencer Shay, who — according to dialogue from the pilot episode — is about thirteen years older than her (Carly is said to be 13 and Spencer is said to be 26 at the time). Spencer is Carly's legal guardian for the entire series, due to the fact that their dad, Steven Shay (who's in the Air Force), is stationed overseas and we never see or hear anything about Carly's mom (until the 2021 revival series confirmed that Carly and Spencer's mom more or less abandoned the family). If something were to happen where Spencer couldn't be Carly's guardian, Carly would go live with Steven's dad, who she and Spencer call "Grandad."
    • "iBeat the Heat" reveals that Spencer's Sitcom Archnemesis, Chuck Chambers (who's a young boy), has an older sister named Gia who's around Spencer's age and he spends most of the episode hitting on her to no avail (largely due to Chuck messing with Spencer when he tries to talk to her).
  • Jane the Virgin: The title character is in her late twenties with a child of her own when her father Rogelio fathers his second daughter Baby.
  • Just the Ten of Us: Graham and Elizabeth have four teenagers, an 11-year old, an 8-year old, and two babies.
  • Kamen Rider:
    • Kamen Rider Den-O: Airi is around the same age as her fiance Sakurai, who is 28 - making her a decade or so older than Ryotaro.
    • Kamen Rider Double: Philip is 17 and his sister Saeko is in her late twenties-early thirties, around 10 to 13 years older than he.
    • Kamen Rider OOO: It is shown in flashbacks that Dr. Maki was raised by his older sister. She died when she was in her twenties and he was still elementary school-aged.
    • Kamen Rider Gaim: 26-year-old Takatora Kureshima is ten years older than his 16-year-old brother Mitsuzane.
    • Kamen Rider Amazons: In series one, Haruka and Mizuki are ostensibly foster siblings three years apart in age. Not only do they turn out to be blood related, but chronologically Mizuki is 15 years older (Haruka is an Amazon and was created only two years ago.)
    • Kamen Rider Zi-O: There is around a 10 to 12-year age gap between Tsukuyomi and her older brother Swartz.
    • Kamen Rider Zero-One: Isamu Fuwa is 26 years old and has a middle school-aged brother.
    • Kamen Rider Saber: Reika and Ryouga Shindai are at least 13-15 years apart in age, possibly more. Ryouga was already an adult by the time his sister was 7-8.
    • Kamen Rider Revice: Koshiro Igarashi is born after the events of the main show, when his parents already have three adult children. He is 23 years younger than Ikki, 21 years younger than Daiji, and 19 years younger than Sakura.
    • Kamen Rider Geats: Sae Ganaha is around 21-22 and her younger brother and sister are around 9-11 years old.
    • Kamen Rider Gotchard: The Three Dark Sisters are this trope at least visually: Atropos looks like a 9 to 10-year-old girl while Lachesis is in her early 20s and Clotho mid to late 20s. Due to them being Really 700 Years Old, Atropos is actually the oldest and Lachesis the youngest.
  • Knots Landing: Gary and Val were just teenagers when they got married and had their daughter Lucy. They got divorced shortly after and remarried years later. By the time their twins Bobby and Betsy were born, Lucy was an adult who had already been married and divorced. The 1997 reunion movie reveals that Gary has another daughter Molly (from a brief relationship during a period of time when he thought Val had died), who is even younger than Bobby and Betsy.
    • Karen and Mack adopted Laura's newborn daughter Meg shortly after her death. At the time, Karen's children Diana, Eric, and Michael, as well as Mack's daughter Paige, were all adults. Meg also has this with her biological siblings. She's at least ten years younger than her maternal half-brother Jason and nearly twenty years younger than her late paternal half-sister Mary Frances.
  • Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: By the time Elliot "Eli" Stabler Jr. was born, the next-youngest siblings, twins Richard and Elizabeth, were nearly 15 years old. Another sister, Kathleen, who is 18, even expresses concerns that people might mistake her for being her new sibling's mother.
    • The Victim of the Week in one episode is a teenager who was born just as the last of his siblings left for college. His father walked out because he didn't want to go through the process of raising a kid again. His mother at least tried, but her displeasure at having to raise another child caused her to neglect him emotionally, leading to him being vulnerable to a predator.
  • Little House on the Prairie: Mary and Laura are about twelve and ten years older than their youngest biological sibling Grace. Their youngest adopted sibling, Cassandra, is a decade younger than Mary.
    • In a later season, the Olesons adopt a daughter, Nancy, who is a decade younger than their oldest child Nellie.
  • Lucifer:
    • Linda got pregnant as a teenager but, being so young, felt unable to raise her daughter and left her with the hospital staff. She goes on to have her second child, a son named Charlie, in her forties during the fourth season. Several months after he's born Maze helps Linda track down her daughter who's now an adult and over twenty years older than her half-brother.
    • The final season reveals that Chloe is pregnant with Lucifer's daughter, Rory. By this time, she already has a teenage daughter, Trixie. Rory is also eternally youthful because she is half-celestial, so Trixie will only look even older than her as time goes on.
  • Malcolm in the Middle: Oldest son Francis is out of the house and married when Lois finds out she's pregnant with Jamie. Reese and Malcolm have already graduated from high school and moved out for college in the finale when Lois finds out she's pregnant again.
  • Modern Family: Jay's stepson Manny is over twenty years younger than his biological kids Claire and Mitchell, and younger than even Claire's kids. Claire and Mitchell are in their thirties and Manny is fourteen by the time Jay and Manny's mother Gloria have Joe, who's even younger than Mitch's daughter Lily. Joe himself is just six years old when he becomes a great-uncle to Haley and Dylan's twins.
  • Monk: After Adrian Monk's father Jack abandoned him and his family, he started another family some undisclosed amount of years later. In his second family, Jack fathered a third son named Jack Jr. Adrian turned 50 in the final season, while Jack Jr.'s age isn't given but seems to be at least in his mid to late thirties.note
  • Midnight Mass (2021): Riley is a man in his thirties. His younger brother Warren is a teenager.
  • My Sister Sam was based around the 30-year-old title character suddenly becoming responsible for her orphaned 16-year-old sister.
  • My Three Sons has oldest Mike (a high-school senior) and youngest Chip (third grade) - and that's only the first season! By the end of the series' twelve-season run the family has added adopted brother Ernie (who started out as a foster kid and a younger friend of Chip's before being adopted when Mike left the show, allowing the "Three Sons" title to still be true) and stepsister Dodie (when dad Steve remarried in Season 10). Mike and Dodie never meet, but originally-middle-son Robbie has since married and had triplet boys, meaning that at the end of the series Dodie (who's in second grade) is an aunt to a trio of three-year-olds.
  • Double Subverted during the last season of The Nanny. When the season starts, Maxwell Sheffield, with his two older children Maggie and Brighton almost in their 20s and his youngest Gracie already becoming a teenager, has since married Fran Fine following years of Belligerent Sexual Tension. Fran, having always wanted to have children, is excited when she finds out that she's pregnant, but is heartbroken when Maxwell tells her that he doesn't want any more children. It's made worse when she learns that she isn't really pregnant — the test provided a false positive. Later that season, Fran gets pregnant for real and Maxwell has since changed his mind about having additional children; the show ends with Fran having fraternal twins.
  • Offspring: Nina, Billie, and Jimmy Proudman are adults when their half-brother Ray (who was conceived when their father Darcy had a fling with Nina's workmate Cherie) is born in the pilot.
  • In One Tree Hill, Lucas Scott's maternal half-sister Lily is born during Season 4 and is eighteen years younger than him. She's also his cousin, as their fathers were brothers.
  • In Once Upon a Time thanks to interdimensional time passage and the Curse erasing her parents' memories, Emma's younger brother is at least ten years younger than her own son. Later, History Repeats with Emma's own children: she has a second child named Hope after Henry graduates high school, so they're at least eighteen years apart in age.
  • In Only Fools and Horses, Derek "Del Boy" Trotter is 13 years older than his brother Rodney, and has taken care of Rodney ever since their father walked out on them and their mother died when Rodney was still small.
    • In the episode "Happy Returns", Del's ex-girlfriend June has a 19-year-old daughter and a 6 or 7-year-old son.
  • In Orphan Black, Charlotte is sixteen years younger than all of her sisters. She refers to her niece Kira as her "cousin" because they're so close in age.
  • The Other Two: Cary and Brooke are 28 and 30 respectively, while their youngest brother Chase is 13.
  • Season 1 of Peaky Blinders has four of the five Shelby siblings as adults, who run the family betting shop (and street gang). Youngest sibling Finn is barely eleven in the first season, thirteen in the second, and it isn't until Season 4 at approximately fifteen or sixteen that he becomes a full Blinder. In the prior seasons, he's ordered around by the rest of his family and serves as a Butt-Monkey for Arthur and John to mock.
  • Pobol y Cwm: Sioned is 25 when her younger half-brother Huwi-John is born. Their two other siblings John and Angela have died, but John was Sioned's twin brother, and Angela would still be more than 20 years older than Huwi-John.
  • Reba:
    • Cheyenne (seventeen in the first season) is ten years older than Jake (seven in the first season). However, Kyra (twelve in the first season) is in the middle to balance out the difference.
    • Later in the first season, Brock and Barbra Jean's son Henry is born. As a result, he's seventeen years younger than Cheyenne and twelve years younger than Kyra. He's also only a few months older than his niece Elizabeth.
  • The Righteous Gemstones: Kelvin, the youngest Gemstone, was the result of a Surprise Pregnancy and was born when his parents were in their forties. As a result, he's a decade younger than his siblings Jesse and Judy.
    • Jesse's oldest son Gideon is an adult and is about a decade older than his youngest son Abraham, who is still in elementary school.
  • Roseanne:
    • In the early seasons, Dan's father Ed has a May–December Romance with Roseanne's best friend Crystal, and they get married. Their children, Ed Junior and Angela, have this with both of their older half-brothers; Crystal's son Lonnie is a teenager, and Dan is in his forties. One episode even has Dan's daughters, both of whom are older than Lonnie, babysitting the teething infant Ed.
    • Later in the series, Roseanne and Dan have a fourth child named Jerry Garcia Conner. He's twenty years younger than Becky, eighteen years younger than Darlene, and fourteen years younger than DJ. He's also only a couple years older than his niece Harris Conner Healy, who's born during Season 9.

    • Star Trek: Picard has Jack Crusher, who would be around 30 years younger than his half-brother Wesley.
  • Stranger Things: Nancy Wheeler (who's sixteen in the first season) appears to be at least thirteen years older than her Living Prop sister Holly. Middle child Mike (who's twelve in the first season) balances it out a little more.
  • Step by Step: The Foster-Lamberts are a blended family of six children. By the time their younger half-sister Lily is born at the end of the fourth season, the two oldest children, J.T. and Dana, are in college, the middle children, Karen, Al, and Mark, are in high school, and the youngest child, Brendan, is around ten years old.

  • In Ted Lasso, the Higginses have five sons. The youngest is in primary school and the eldest is a priest.
  • Too Cute: Occasionally, examples of this will pop up. Justified due to the fact that dogs and cats don't actually go through menopause and can have litters at any point in their lives; moreover, they have much shorter childhoods relative to their overall lifespans than humans.
    • The Irish terrier pups have an older brother named Gianni from their mother's previous litter. He is the equivalent of a teenager while the puppies themselves are toddler-aged.
    • Tonkinese cat Princess and her mother Queenie have their litters within a day of each other, resulting in the former's siblings and children being around the same age.
  • Too Close for Comfort: Henry and Muriel Rush are a couple in their forties with two adult daughters when their son Andrew is born.
  • Transplant: Bash is at least twenty years older than his little sister Amira, who's in grade school. It's therefore unsurprising he's raised her in Canada, and he would likely be taken as her father by most who don't know their relationship.
  • On The Tudors, Henry VIII's daughter Mary is in her late teens when her stepmother, Queen Jane Seymour, is pregnant with and gives birth to the future Edward VI. Truth in Television, as this was also the case in real life.
  • Two and a Half Men: In the sixth season, Judith gets pregnant and gives birth to a daughter named Milly, while her son Jake is in his mid-teens. Around the time of Milly's conception, Judith and Herb temporarily separated and Judith slept with Alan, only to quickly dump Alan and reconcile with Herb. Therefore, it is unclear whether Milly is Jake's half-sister or his full sister. All signs point to Alan being Milly's biological father, but the show never confirmed it either way.
  • The Waltons: John-Boy is eleven years older than his youngest sibling Elizabeth.
    • In Season 2, Olivia gets pregnant. She loses the baby because she's too old to carry properly; had the child (posthumously named Joy) survived, she would have been eighteen years younger than John-Boy, sixteen years younger than Jason, fourteen years younger than Mary-Ellen, thirteen years younger than Ben, and twelve years younger than Erin.
  • You're the Worst: According to a line of dialogue in the episode "The Seventh Layer", Paul reveals that at least one of his siblings has a son who is considerably older than Paul himself and thus, was more like an uncle/big brother figure to him than the other way around.
  • Shows such as 19 Kids and Countingnote  and Bringing Up Bates, as with 19 kids in the respective Duggar and Bates families, the youngest children were born roughly at the point where the eldest children were getting married.
