Hate Sink / Super Sentai

Go To

Like its sister franchise, Kamen Rider, the Super Sentai series has many villains that we Love to Hate— from Radiguet to Enter to name a few. However, the franchise is also no stranger to the list of disgusting and irredeemable scumbags below.

  • J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai: The Crime Boss from #5, to a surprisingly sociopathic degree. He forces Junko Koyama as his spy to perform his scheme, even keeping her father captive as insurance. He even disguises himself as Junko's "grandfather" to prevent ISSIS from noticing him, all in a smug manner when discussing with Junko of her father's fate. He later performed a deception insuring that Junko gets her father back and once the chicanery is revealed, the Crime Boss reveals the actual professor while having his Crimers shoot Junko, with Ace being too late to save her. All of this ultimately proved him to one of the worst villains in the show despite being around for an episode.
  • Denshi Sentai Denziman: Demon King Banriki is an obnoxious jerkass who spends most of the show lazing around and making rude remarks at the other Vader Clan members. As such, while rest of the Vader Clan were Likeable Villains, Banriki was someone who gave audiences a villain they wouldn't feel bad about seeing get defeated.
  • Dengeki Sentai Changeman:
    • Star King Bazeu is a Galactic Conquerer who keeps his followers in line by not only threatening them but their home planets while being perfectly fine with sacrificing them or forcibly mutating them into Space Beasts. He even separated Giluke and Ahames from each other due to them once plotting to overthrow him, and by the time they reunite, Bazeu bars them from teaming up, eventually leading to the two generals to go against each other. In truth, Bazeu is a Planet Eater whose sole reason for leaving some planets alive is so he can hold them for ransom to get their inhabitants to serve in his army.
    • Doctor Kumazawa from #13-14 was a traitorous Mad Scientist who allied with Gozma in hopes of ruling Earth in their name. Kumazawa pretends to be Nana's father and tricks her into helping him and Gozma. As Nana learns that the Changeman aren't bad people and Kumazawa firing at Hiryuu, Nana attempts to get him to stop, only to be shoved aside, realizing that the man isn't her true father. Hiryuu then demanded him to reveal his true colors, which Kumazawa gleefully reveals his allegiance with Gozma and desire to rule Earth while stating that Nana's father was abducted and killed. Once unarmed, one of the giant lizards comes towards the man, with Kumazawa pathetically begging for the lizard to spare his life under the grounds that he was promised to rule the planet, only for the reptile's tail to swing at Kumazawa down a cliff to his death.
  • Choujuu Sentai Liveman: Great Professor Bias is widely remembered as one of the most heartless Sentai villains with a massive god complex. He subverts any genuine and altruistic qualities to his underlings only seeing them as tools for his end goal, and gleefully throws them under the bus once he has no more use for them. He even has the gall to reject an offer to turn a new leaf from Megumi and what makes his death karmic is he ends up aging rapidly into an old man, and his last moments comes off as satisfying beyond expectations, which cements his status as one of the most repulsive villains in the franchise.
  • Kousoku Sentai Turboranger: Great Boma Emperor Lagorn is quite a massive Bad Boss to his followers that freed him, especially when they fail him and even has three of them march to their deaths via do-or-die tactics, and is extremely prejudiced towards the Wandering Boma, claiming them as not true Boma and attempting to have them persecuted. Even in his seeming death, Lagorn was able to reform himself and seals of his enemies' powers while launching a final crusade to wipe out humanity involving a bunch of unsealed Boma.
  • Choujin Sentai Jetman: Supreme Commander Akira Ichijou in #40-41 proves that you don't have to be like Radiguet, Tranza or Juuza to be a scum of the universe. In his Establishing Character Moment, it's made clear that he really despises Commander Odagiri that much, in that the guy has little to no care for anyone other than his own and he's willing to ditch his own men (Neo-Jetmen) to save his own skin and the act of endangering both his team and Aya's was just a middle finger to her. Ichijou's ego and apathy could have warranted victory for the Vyram had not Aya and the heroes acted immediately as soon as possible, along with how Ichijou's men deciding to disobey his orders and give their support to the heroes. While we unfortunately don't have the full details of his fate, the staff made sure to let everyone know that the character is undergoing severe staff reevaluation.
  • Gosei Sentai Dairanger: Lieutenant Colonel Shadam served as the most prominent of the Gorma Tribe and personal adversary to the Dairangers, while also being an abusive father towards Akomaru, even tricking Gorma Emperor XV into turning against the latter and banishing him from Gorma. He is also a ruthless fighter, taking advantage of Kaku's mercy of him by killing him, seizes his emperor to become ruler of Gorma himself, and ultimately doesn't care if his actions bring about Daijinryuu. With all that, his death and the revelation that he too is a clay doll comes of as quite cathartic.
  • Ninja Sentai Kakuranger: Nue served as Daimaou's messenger and is quite a cruel Youkai, especially towards the Dorodoros, even earning the ire of Junior. His first act involves turning Seikai and Saizou into kappas and forces them to kill each other, especially with all the mental and psychological torture the two encountered. When the Dorodoros helped the two, Nue cruelly kills them in response. Eventually, it was revealed that in the past, Nue made a deal with Jiraiya's teacher Gali for the latter's daughter to saved in exchange for him to be Nue's assassin.
  • Denji Sentai Megaranger: Of all the members of Nezirejia, Guirail is the worst of them all—even Dr. Hinelar and Yugande look down on him with contempt. A downright cowardly and sadistic psycho who has little to no care for the well-being of those around him, he'll gleefully use them as meat shields to stay alive. And literally getting into Yugande's skin for the final time by fusing with him ultimately led to his downfall, as Hinelar finally chooses to makes an example out of him once he's in a weakened state. On top of that, his Power Rangers counterpart, Darkonda is even worse.
  • Kyūkyū Sentai GoGoV: Grand Witch Grandiene can be considered one of the most detestable female main villains in Sentai. She takes Abusive Parent to the most extremes and is plain nasty to everyone in general. Not to mention her goal is to cause mass destruction to engulf the world. What's worse is that she's the first Big Bad whose Power Rangers counterpart shares her status completely, and then some.
  • Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger: Kight Reidlich from 10 YEARS AFTER is a corrupt commissioner of S.P.D.'s Earth branch who had Doggie framed for his crimes, even callously murdering his mafia customers to cover his tracks. Once his plans and true colors were exposed, Kight attempts to have the Dekarangers killed, and when in need for more power, even showcased his Bad Boss nature to his two Neo-Dekarangers by absorbing them into him, showing that he would callously murder anyone for his sole benefit.
  • Juken Sentai Gekiranger: Long is an ancient omnicidal deity who seeks to cause destruction across the globe, because he finds the world to be boring, basing its value solely on how it can entertain him. On top of that, he's done much worse from killing Jan's parents and brainwashing the soul of his dead father into becoming one of his generals and trying to get him to murder his own son to forcing Rio to serve him. Since he's immortal, his defeat ends up with him sealed on a golden coin, twice.
  • Engine Sentai Go-onger: Crime Minister Yogoshimacretein is the absolute worst among the Gaiark's ranks, so much that the remaining two of the main Gaiark trio (Kitaneidas and Kegalesia) fear and loathe him. Yogoshimacretein even has the gall to disown his son, Yogostein after the latter's death by Sosuke's hands. The real kicker is that he's willing to throw his underlings under the bus to save his iron hide and stands out to be one of the vilest Sentai villain in a light-hearted show. And another kicker: his Power Rangers counterpart is much worse on a whole new level—as a a genocidal A.I. that reduced the entire world to a barren wasteland and enslave half of human population by turning them into cyborgs, in the process turning that Power Rangers season into one of the darkest entries in that franchise.
  • Tensou Sentai Goseiger has Robogog of the 10-sai. He takes the cake as the most detestable, sociopathic, and overly petty of the main antagonists the Goseigers face, second only to Brajira of the Messiah, and yet, even the latter is not as truly hated as much because he is at best a delusional and grandiose Knight Templar who is very good at chess scheming, is Faux Affably Evil, and doesn't take the time to be openly cruel to those around him until their usefulness is over, being fixated on what he believes is his mission. Robogog is only meant to be as despicable as possible so that you could root for Brajira for once.
  • Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Most of the Zangyack higher-ups care for each other, such as in the case of Damaras and Insarn for Warz Gill so much they even mourn his death, and Ackdos Gill being determined to avenge his son's death. The same cannot be said for Basco ta Jolokia. A wild card at heart, Basco's creed is about in order to achieve something, you must give up something—he starts to live and breathe with it by selling out his own kin, and he gets worse by the time he runs into Marvelous again. Basco will do whatever means to get what he wants, especially if it mean harming innocent children into forcing someone to surrender their Greater Power. Lastly, he couldn't care less about his travelling companion, Sally when he uses her as a meat shield to save his skin and it only snapped Marvelous and finally gave him some well-deserved revenge.
  • Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger: Megabeast Hunter Bangray is an alien rival of Yamato/Zyuoh Eagle who loves to Kick the Dog just to prove Yamato’s philosophy on everything being connected wrong, and his atrocities are more personal and repulsive than the main villain group Deathgaliens, and these guys are all about destroying planets for their leader’s sadistic pleasure as part of a game. Bangray is such a despicable asshole with none of the qualities that make the Deathgaliens interesting to see (Ginis’s calm, Faux Affably Evil manor, Quval’s somewhat sympathetic motives, Naria’s Undying Loyalty, etc.) that the only time he actually incurred happiness was when the Zyuohgers finally defeated him for good.
  • Uchu Sentai Kyuranger Episode of Stinger has Thunderbird, a cruel, and sociopathic Daikaan who takes sadistic pleasure into lynching an alien girl and removing what's left of her innocence just to get a promotion from Don Armage.
  • Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger: Gachireus stands out as the most deplorable amongst the Druidon Tribe and is defined by three things — arrogant, ill-tempered, and domineering; so much so that majority of the Tribe hate and/or fear him to the point Kleon ends up becoming his punching bag. While most of the Druidon Tribe ended up pulling a Heel–Face Turn by the end of the series, Gachireus's second (and permanent) death doesn't garner any sympathy from his own kin or even the Ryusoulgers for that matter, having only gotten worse following his first appearance while the others were at least willing to give Pet the Dog moments.
  • Mashin Sentai Kiramager: Emperor Yodon is a cruel, sadister villain who corrupted Galza into villainy when the latter was a child due to how he and Oradin were presented as potential obstacles in his path of conquest. Towards the end, Yodon reveals to only value himself and has zero loyalty to his followers, especially when he used Yodonna as a Human Shield and claimed that she should be happy to die for his sake. In truth, he only manifested Yodonna and Shadon due to having grown for companionship at the time before viewing them as his weaknesses personified and was willing to be rid of them when the time came.
  • Avataro Sentai Donbrothers: Sonoshi, the Noto inspector, is an absolute jerkass who prides in being an utter nuisance to not only humankind, but their fellow Noto as well, willing to humiliate the main Noto trio just to put themselves on top. In fact, they are so detested that both the Donbrothers and the Noto trio willingly cooperated just to try and get rid of him, and subsequent appearances only make them more detestable than they already were.
  • Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger: The show's 2nd Big Bad Dagded Dujardin is the king of the Galactinsects who's generally fun screentime belies his cruel and dismissive nature towards other beings, and the nonchalant nature of his pettily evil and heartless actions means that neither the King-Ohgers nor the Kyoryugers are willing to tolerate his antics. What makes him the worst kind of work is the fact that he's the one who manipulated all of the previous rulers of Shugoddam to instigate a war against the Bognaarok race for his own twisted amusement. What makes it more infuriating is that the blasted pest won't go away, so anytime the monarchs have any success against him is treated as a huge accomplishment.
