  • Trudge getting buried in garbage towards the end of episode 3.
  • DUB! Jack has some pretty funny lines
Jack: Who the deuce are you?
Jack: If they try to take us on, I'll give them a barrel full of Jack Attack.
    • DUB Episode 7 has a gem as well, also from Jack, after Rex comes with the first of many explanations about what Yliaster is. Too bad his explanation is later proven to not at all be true.
Rex: The Yliaster is simply the force that keeps the entire universe together.
Jack: So it's glue. You swore an allegiance to magic glue!?
    • Also the scenes after his first turbo duel. He grabs a microphone from a reporter and starts informing the crowd that he can beat anyone on any runner. He then loudly proclaims himself the "master of faster" and the "ruler of the duels".
  • In episode 7's dub, Yusei takes it on himself to try and play Yanagi's deck against Tanner, starting with completely ignoring the old man's advice:
Yanagi: Whatever you do, don't use the Crystal Skull!
Yusei: The Crystal Skull? Good idea!
Yanagi: What are you-? I said don't use it! Didn't you see what it did to me?!note
  • Bolt's comments on why people are sent to Chief Armstrong's office. You either get in trouble, or make good barbecue sauce:
Bolt: (Yusei) may duel like a pro, but I got a feeling he doesn't know squat about barbecue.
  • During Yusei's duel with the corrupt Chief Armstrong we get this after Yusei plays a card.
Inmate 1: See, I told you my deck wasn't lame!
Inmate 2: Listen, I said that you were lame, not your stinkin' deck.
Armstrong: Shut up losers, you're both lame!
  • There's a scene early on in the anime, where Yusei was just released from prison and he enters a Bad Guy Bar because Bolt Tanner told him to meet up with someone there. He just walks in like a bad guy, gets up to the bar like a bad guy, and even SITS like a bad guy (elbows on the table and hunched over.) The Barkeep taunts him by saying that kids aren't allowed here. Yusei's reply: "Get me Milk." note  The barkeep is offended but shuts up the moment Yusei shows that he's here to meet a contact, and he even pours Yusei a glass of milk.
  • The TCG changed Morphtronic Datatron from a lighter to a USB flash drive. Its appearance in the anime went completely unedited in the dub, leading to a USB flash drive spitting fire.
    • In addition, it's still a fire-attribute, pyro-type. So it's basically an electronic firebender.
  • Episode 14 has a random street duelist that looks and sounds suspiciously like Joey Wheeler. "Nah, it's his cousin, Jesse Wheeler."
    • Later in the episode's Dub, Yusei's working on his duel runner, listing to the theme song (which is apparently a band in New Domino City or something), when Tanner, Blister, and Yanagi walk in. Before they even say anything, they instantly cringe at the music and exclaim to turn it off.
  • Episode 16's dub, with Eric Stuart clearly having way too much fun with Sir Randsborg's Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe. And Akiza's stoicism is replaced with her being very thoroughly unimpressed.
Randsborg: A silent tongue? Or hath the viper take hold of thee?
Akiza: No, I'm getting tired of having to listen to your bad accent.
    • Not that she's entirely above it all...
Akiza: In some words you understand: Thou art about to be royally played!
  • Episode 19 has Leo remember Luna's promise to the spirits to defend spirit world as its protector, to which Luna hastily replies "I WAS THREE!"
  • This gem from episode 20:
Satellite Resident: This way! This way to the Satellite Black Market! The only thing it can't get you is perishables, or a wife!
  • After winning against Jack in the Fortune Cup, Yusei faces a greater challenge than ever... the MEDIA!
  • Episode 34 features the second half of Yusei and Kalin's duel from the Dark Signer Arc, and though the scene is genuinely terrifying, Kalin screams this beautiful line in the midst of it:
Kalin: Dance, Yusei! Dance the dance of death!
    • Immediately after this, we're shown that Yusei has momentarily lost control of his D-Wheel, causing it to spin uncontrollably. Dance the dance of death, indeed.
  • Jack being completely deadpan with his arms crossed on all the rides at a theme park while Carly, Trudge, and Mina are screaming their heads off. Even on a bungee jump. You can hear Trudge sobbing and being comforted by attendants after it.
  • Carly's rant to her Jack hallucinations in Episode 37. In desperation, she tells them she wants to take everything she did for him back, and the fact that the things she mentions differ between Japanese and English versions makes for twice the funny. The last thing is either embarrassment for having to wash his men's clothes or her flirty looks. And her ending line: "And I want my heart back. I want it to not be so broken." Yet the scene shows just how overwhelmed she is with having her heart broken, so it's more Narm Charm than anything.
  • Sayer's reaction to seeing Carly after blasting her out of his window in Episode 38:
Sayer (To Himself) Ok, you're having a nervous breakdown, it's the stress of your job, it's gotten to you. I hope.
  • In the dub, Jack calling Goodwin out on his BS in episode 42 when the Signers show up to his mansion:
Goodwin: It is with great honor that I welcome you all to my home. I'm here to serve you.
Jack: Right. The only thing you've ever served is a tennis ball.
  • Jack arguing with Leo over who's better, him or Yusei, in episode 43.
  • The Japanese version has Crow memorably shout "Oh my God!" in English, followed by an indecipherable Popeye-esque rant during a duel. The contents of the speech go something like, "Yusei, I'm sorry, I really am useless against the Dark Signers," until Jaeger tells him to shut up. Jaeger casually muttering to himself about his plan while Crow cries and rants is equally funny, though.
  • Throwaway line in the dub:
Random Guy: Quit whining like a Kuriboh.
  • Episode 40 has Martha and Blister/Saiga be all for Yusei and Akiza getting together. First Martha saying he should go after his "future wife", then Blister delivers this burn in the dub:
He's already got a girlfriend, his Runner!
    • When Martha makes Trudge do all the chores.
Trudge: Why do I have to clean the bathroom, too!?
  • This gem of an exchange in dub episode 45:
Mina: Um, Jack, I have to disclose something. I think I might have special feelings for you.
Jack: 'Course you do. But we're talking about Carly right now!
    • Considering the Jack/Mina/Carly love triangle, Carly would've laughed her butt off if she heard Jack say that to Mina's face!
  • Upon Roman summoning more spider monsters, Yusei has this to say:
Yusei: Great. this is just what I needed. I mean, is it just too much to ask for you to summon a creature that only has two legs?
    • Later in that episode, Jack rescues the kids caught in the geolyph, but unless he could read Yusei's mind, Dub!Jack decides to call himself a miracle (which would be in character).
  • Trudge's rivalry with Jack (who isn't even present) is hilarious in itself, but even funnier in the dub simply due to the fact that Dan Green (Yami Yugi) voices Trudge and Ted Lewis (Yami Bakura) voices Jack.
  • Episode 68 in general. Crow is tricked by the kids into doing something, while Jack and Yusei give each other a Are-You-Joking-Look.
  • Any of Crow's and Jack's quarrels Like an Old Married Couple in Season 3 over Jack's inability/refusal to get a job.
  • Crow's expression when he sees how much one blue eyes mountain coffee costs - 30 dollars (3000 yen in the original) for a cup of coffee!?
  • Jack's attempts to get a job to prove Crow that he could. He ended up being a chef, working in a book store, working at a dry cleaning shop, and the cafe where he regularly drank expensive coffee. Only to get fired from all four jobs in a relatively short amount of time.
  • In the first part of a two part episode that introduces Sherry, the "conversation" that Jack, Crow, Mina, and Akiza have while they're looking for a possibly missing Yusei is hilarious. And especially Akiza's frustration to the boy's seeming lack of concern or worry.
Jack: (after being questioned on how thorough his search was) "If you're so worried about Yusei, why don't you go look for him?"
Crow: "I would but, 'Clucker's Deep Fried Chicken' doesn't deliver itself. I'm on the clock."
Jack: "I tried that 'Ultra Crispy Crisper' the other day. It's a little heavy on the paprika, but otherwise, I thought it..."
Akiza: "How are you talking about fast food right now!? What if Crow's right and something awful's happened to Yusei? Ugh! Man, these yahoos."
    • And then after Crow tells her about the anonymous message he received warning of Yusei's capture...
Akiza: "What!? Why are you just now telling us this?"
Crow: "I didn't want to wanna freak anyone out."
Akiza: "I'm gonna cobble you when I see you!"
Jack: "I believe you mean "clobber", Akiza. To cobble is to make a shoe."
Akiza: "Well, whatever! Then I'm gonna cobble up some boots and use 'em to kick Crow's butt!"
Jack: "Heh. This Yusei thing's got you going. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you were in love with hi-"
      Akiza: "STOP RIGHT THERE, JACK!!"
    • In the same two-parter, the assertion of the head man of the guys who abducted Yusei that he isn't "a well balanced person", made all the more obvious as he restates this while having a remote-controlled Truck fall off an overpass right onto Yusei, Akiza, and Sherry.
  • Sly's filler episode intro: Yusei, Jack and Crow are working on Yusei's D-wheel, with Crow commenting the engine works great. Then this exchange occurs:
Yusei: *completely Deadpan* No need to worry about the engine exploding...
    Crow: The engine?
    Jack: Worry about it?
*cue the Auto-shuffle for his D-wheel malfunctioning and spraying cards everywhere from behind Yusei, who doesn't move as it occurs*
  • Akiza's I'm Okay! line in the dub of 75.
    • In the same episode, when Yusei takes Akiza skating to better teach her the oft seen Turbo Dueling move of coasting backwards, Leo can't help but feel like a "third wheel". Luna tries to disagree about the notion, but before long even she comes to admit that, "Yeah, this is totally a date".
  • The first Recap Episode opens with Jack having assembled a table and coffee set. After Crow opens the scene by celebrating that they won’t have to sit on the floor anymore, the scene ends with the table and chairs exploding into their constituent parts.
    • And when seeing that they can now make their own coffee, Crow says that now they won’t have to waste money at the place across the street. Gilligan Cut to a distraught looking Stephanie.
    Stephanie: Where’s Jack?
  • Yusei's sarcastic response to Crow begging him and Bruno not to mess up his bike in the dub of episode 94:
Crow: That runner is my baby. I depend on her.
Yusei: We know, Crow. Now, then, Bruno, hand me the hammer, the flame torch, and... ooh, the chainsaw!
  • Episode 99, Jack's fangirls have to get past a security guard to see him. One has a police badge and one has a press pass, so they can get through without a problem. The third is a waitress, so all she has to offer is a coupon for a free coffee. The guard is so flabbergasted it actually works.
Mikage: Let me in, I'm a cop!
Carly: I've got a press pass!
Stephanie: Ummm... Here's a coupon for coffee!
  • Episode 103, Jack and Crow are arguing. Stephanie begs them to stop. Carly cups her face and orders Jack to calm down for the sake of this cute girl, before double taking and going, "Why the Hell am I agreeing with you!?" Then Carly, Mikage, and Stephanie get into a three-way Cat Fight.
  • Everything during the first part of episode 114. From the Rastafarian Jaegar, to Jack's reaction when his favorite cup ramen is sold out, to Jack's ridiculous plan and how much Crow suffered during that plan. Really, it needs to be seen to be believed.
  • Episode 115 is, probably, the funniest episode ever. We start with everyone interrogating Jaeger about the relationship between the Public Security Maintenance Bureau and Yliaster, the show's Nebulous Evil Organisation. He then starts narrating an equally ridiculous and Tear Jerking story about the first time he ate cup ramen with his poor circus family, and how much he liked it, complete with Ocular Gushers. Three times funnier because of Jack crying as much as him, saying he understands his love of ramen, and giving him several boxes of ramen as a present. Then Sherry gets pissed and tells him to get to the main point. He agrees... only to continue with the story about how he joined the Public Security Maintenance Bureau to be able to provide ramen to his family forever.
    • It didn't end at that. As Jaeger is still reluctant about revealing information on Yliaster, Yusei reminds him that if Yliaster destroys the city, nobody would be able to eat ramen again. And when the information doesn't seem to be good enough, Jack threatens to take all the boxes of ramen he gave him as a present back. Jaeger's answer is a verbatim Anything but That!.
    • Not to mention Akiza's reactions to Jack's antics early on in the episode. After Yusei tells Jack to let Yeagar have the cup ramen he wanted, Jack starts crying about it and Akiza is in front of staring at him with a face that just scream are you serious?
    • The intro of Episode 115, my God. Oh Jack, we will never be able to look at you the same way again. And that is a wonderful thing.
      "I'll avenge my cup ramen!"
      • Pretty much anything Jack does in episode 115 is hilarious including jumping 8 feet into the air to get to an arcade machine and getting beaten by Cup Ramen Man.
  • From the DUB of Episode 124, when Leo tells Jack that situations like when Dragan threw his match against Jack as the King of turbo duels probably happen all the time:
Jack: What are you saying?! That my entire duel record is built on lies?! That I'm a giant fraud, a big fat phony full of baloney?!
  • Being pretty much Crow with a God card, Brave/Brodor is a walking COMF, and he trolls the hell out of Crow.
  • These lines from Lester (or Luciano in the original)
Lester: Good one [Jack], you're as funny as you look.
Lester(talking to Primo after purposely losing to Jack): You're the one who would have lost if I had been the one to win at rock paper scissors. (pause) Stupid scissors.
    • (the idea of Primo/Placiado playing rock paper scissors is pretty funny too)
    • Better yet, they're both incarnations of Aporia, meaning Lucciano basically lost rock paper scissors to himself.
  • Episode 132 gives a CMOF to Jose, of all people, when Placido returns to the pit at the end of his duel with Jack. Jose mounts his D-Wheel, which had been in hiding up to this point, by running at it, leading many a viewer to believe for a moment that he actually planned to race against Jack on foot! See it here at 4:15.
  • Episode 138 - Yusei and Team Ragnarok put together a plan to get to the Ark Cradle, involving Bruno and Old Momentum. Seeing as the Rune Eyes and Yusei's Birthmark can power their D-Wheels, Bruno rides an ice cream cart to get there, towed by Team Ragnarok's D-Wheels. Brave's entrance with it to begin with was hilarious.
  • The faces Aporia make in Episode 143 are utterly hilarious, especially one the right after jack destroys the last of his permanent cards.
  • Carly hiding among Jack's gifts in the final episode.
