Chixie is such a cute little bug, you wouldn't expect the filthy rap battle she spits when she confronts the band that stole her song. Troll Eminem would be impressed.
You like that? / I wrote it!
You hit that? / I own it!
Comin' in hot / tryna steal my spot
Just grab my bulge and deepthroat it!
And her mortified reaction when she realizes that she just risked culling to tell a rival to fellate her.
Chixie: I just... told a bunch of highbloods / to eat my bulge.
The encounter with The Grand Highblood during Chahut's route is mostly terrifying, with most of his interactions with you being insults or veiled threats. However, he also fumbles with his video call for a bit and while insulting the MSPA Reader, compliments their legs. This in turn causes just about every Purpleblood at the congregation to start ogling your legs, including Chahut.
Did a giant clown just say that you have nice legs over troll FaceTime?
Your character, who is by this point drunk off their ass on Faygo, admits that they're probably going to end up fucking a troll at some point. And if it has to be a clown, well so be it.
Chahut's first bad ending, as pictured above, involves her and Amisia killing a random Bronzeblood that the latter caught in a trap. Instead of being horrified, the Reader is instead very annoyed with how murderous trolls can be, and decides to leave.
Zebede's enthusiasm at you offering to die for him.
Every volume begins with some narration about the MSPA Reader and their search for friendship. Volume 13 just starts with "BLAH BLAH BLAH FRIENDSHIP BLAH" before going straight to the selection screen.
The Running Gag of Purplebloods not showing up in the volume announcement posts in the standard way.
The fact that Marvus turns out to talk very casually with a lot of slang and abbreviations.
Nihkee's route is full of funny moments:
After seeing a gruesome display of Muscular Theatre, the reader has to get a bathroom. They mean use the snack. They mean... they'll be right back.
The Reader ends up becoming Nihkee's opponent after her original one was eaten by a troll-eating plant. How were they persuaded to do this? Not for a chance of money or fame, but for a chance of friendship.
Nikhee manages to flex so hard the announcer's sleeves explode.
When the Reader wakes up in Nihkee's exercise room, they notice she is wearing a different outfit for exercising... which happens to look exactly the same as her previous outfit.
If the Reader doesn't hesitate, at one point during the training Nihkee will give them a drink, which is described as being an energy drink combined with milk.
In Lanque's R-rated route, he offers the MSPA Reader drugs, but the Reader refuses them. Lanque then gives them to Diemen, who replies "Thanks, I love to put drugs on my wiener."
Before the routes split, the Reader is described as having dressed in some random clothing, which happens to be a bra, some fishnets, and a cape. Meanwhile, Lynera is wearing her usual smart schoolgirl outfit because "We would've had to pay someone to redraw all her sprites".
Also before the routes split, Ardata tells the Reader she has one question for them. What follows is a fairly elaborate "do you certify that you're old enough to see mature content question, written in Ardata's quirk. The legalese it's written in comes right out of nowhere, and imagining Ardata saying it is rather amusing.
As scary, sad, and confusing as the epilogue is, the ending where Doc Scratch tells the MSPA Reader that reading a "briefwebcomic" will help them understand what's going on, and the fact that it actually opens the first page of Homestuck in the computer's browser, can be funny.
The names of some of the original songs by James Roach that are included in most volumes start off with fairly normal names for Homestuck songs, but gradually become sillier:
The music for Folykl and Kuprum's route is called ">tfw another james roach track", lampshading how quite a few songs by him had been used so far...and this was only the sixth volume.
Similarly, the music for Zebede's route is called "beekeeper who? i dont know her." This references the Beekeeper, one of the early concept trolls which was scrapped, and Zebede was partly based on her.
Mallek's route has a song called "fortnite funny moments epic fails episode 413", which James said he named in the hope of confusing people who were actually looking for Youtube videos about funny moments from Fortnite after hearing that the Friendsim music had been uploaded to said site.
The music for Stelsa's route is called "I.I.Y.W.A.S.W.I.W.T.B.O.T.S.A.4.A.A.T.W.U.O.T.D.T.M.I.H.C.I.M.F.H." It's short for "imagine, if you will, a situation wherein i wrote the bulk of this song at 4 am and then woke up only to discover the monstrosity i had created in my fleeting hubris".
If you thought any of those were ridiculous, then you haven't seen the name of the track James made for the unknown Purpleblood's route. It's ASCII Art of Bowsette in a cute anime style, and it can be seen here, or in the game's credits. Of course, that name couldn't be used when uploaded to Soundcloud, so there it's just called "(an ascii image of bowsette)."
Marvus' theme is called "Clownfucker" (though James says Toby named it), and is meant to reflect "the real life struggle of finding someone hot and slowly but surely acclimating to the fact that they are a clown. we all been there. extremely relatable."
The music for Lanque's route (The NSFW version) is called "yall know i just do the music right," a reference to how fans would often ask James questions about Hiveswap that he doesn't know all the answers to. It may also be a pre-written response to anyone who asks him about what happened in either version of the route.
The Soleil Twin's route has a track called "the final clowntdown."
