Even funnier in context.

As a reboot to perhaps one of the most cheesy cartoons of the 80s, you can expect a good bout of comedy to be served alongside the Masters of the Universe's adventures.

Season One

  • At the beginning of the first episode:
Voice: Bring the sword to the champion.
    Teela: What champion?
[We cut to the opening theme with Adam drawing the sword.]
    Adam: I have the power!
  • Even when saving a stuck kitten, Adam drops some snark.
Adam: What, did you have rocks for breakfast?
Kitty: I thought they were potatoes!
Adam: Did they taste like potatoes?
Kitty: I never had potatoes before, I didn't know what they were supposed to taste like!
  • Right before Krass is swung into a poacher ship like a giant ramball, Cringer (who's trapped on said ship) remarks, "Have I mentioned how much I hate this game?"
  • When Teela and Adam first meet, Teela has gotten herself stuck in a tree surrounded by Cringer's tribe.
Adam: Um, can we help you, tree lady?
Teela: Uh, your village is full of cats. I'm apparently afraid of cats.
Adam: Then why'd you come out here to where the Tiger Tribe lives?
Teela: A voice in my head told me to.
Adam: Ask it how much it knows about cats being able to climb trees.
  • Some time after seeing Adam's first transformation into He-Man, Krass makes an attempt to use the Power Sword for its power, including its incantation, to no avail. Followed by Duncan attempting to try it out (Adding sticking out his pinky in order to try to get it to work), and even Cringer attempting to use it, leading to a muffled attempt at the incantation due to holding the sword in his mouth.
  • Upon witnessing the aftermath of Keldor's attack on several guards, Kronis jokingly tips one of the petrified guards over, much to Evelyn's annoyance. And later on when Keldor demonstrates his power to the two, Kronis then knocks over another statue as it was shaking from the power of the Havoc.
  • Cringer attempting to maul a hunter drone, only afterwards remembering that he has no claws any more and sliding off with a grumpy expression.
  • Keldor isn't impressed with the name "He-Man" and has quite a bit of fun mocking the other Masters while they're captured and helpless:
Keldor: "He-Man"? Is that what you're calling yourself now?
    He-Man: [defensively] What about it?
Keldor: Let me guess the rest, hmm? [walking around to look at the imprisoned Masters] Of course there's "Helmet-Girl"...
    Krass: Skeleton-hand!!
    Keldor: "Wrench-Boy"...
Duncan: [fake cough] Ah, you hear that? [fake cough] Wow, I, I, I got a cold, so, you might not want my energy, or... whatever!
    Keldor: "Street-Rat"...
    [Teela says nothing]
    Keldor: What, no witty comeback?
Teela: Trust me, nobody wants to hear the words I'd like to say right now.
Keldor: And last, but not least...
Cringer: "Last, but not least," what?
    Keldor: Nothing. You're a talking tiger. That's -- well, that's amazing.
    • Adam gets him back with some gold of his own.
He-Man: So how does this work? I just hold the sword over the pit, or...
    Keldor: [annoyed] Yes.
[He-Man is about to move the sword over the pit, then...]
He-Man: And then, boom, the power turns on, we're—and we're all good? And you'll let my friends go, right?
Keldor: Yes, whatever! Just do it already.
[He-Man is about to move the sword over the pit, but once again...]
He-Man: So this sword, for sure.
Keldor: I hold their lives in my hands, and you're toying with me right now?!
  • Ram Ma'am and Battle Cat's fistbump after defeating Battle Cat's shadow come to life is part heartwarming and part hilarious — especially considering that, in their powered-up modes, Battle Cat's paw is almost as big as Ram Ma'am's entire body.
  • Skeletor apparently flashed Evelyn and Kronis when coming out of a Havoc bath.
  • Kronis and Skeletor disagree on what codenames that should be used over the comm-link.
Kronis: Snake In The Grass to Snake Mountain. Copy?
Skeletor: Why are we doing the snake thing?
Kronis: What — you prefer "Shin Bone to Knee Bone"?
    • Later in the episode, Kronis has decided on a compromise and calls on Skeletor with "Snake Bone to Shin Mountain."
  • "What happens in the tree... stays in the tree."
  • This exchange between Krass and Ork-O:
    Krass: Hey, Dorko?
    Ork-O: It's Dork-O. Uh...
Krass: That's what I said. How are you in a fight?
Ork-O [cheerily] I can pull a Navit out of my hat!
    Krass: How is that useful?!
Ork-O: I never said it was useful. It's just terribly uncomfortable.
    • Comes with a hilarious Freeze-Frame Bonus in the form of the look on Krass’s face when Ork-0 indeed a produces two Navits that had taken up residence in his hat.
  • Cringer's opinion on Snake Mountain.
Cringer:[sighs] He could've been a little less on the nose with his choice of lair.
  • Adam and the Masters (minus Krass) have come to Snake Mountain to confront Skeletor, who... seems to be having some technical issues.
Skeletor: [over a loudspeaker] NEPHEW! Missed me?
Adam: Why else would we have come all the way out here?
Skeletor: I didn't catch that. Can you speak up a bit?
Adam: [hesitates, then begins shouting] WHY —
[Loud screech of microphone feedback causes everyone to wince]
    Skeletor: I have a microphone, you don't!
    Adam: WHY —
Skeletor: [over screeching microphone feedback] As you can see, I'm way up here, and you're waaaay down there. GAAAH! Curse this ancient technology!
  • Skeletor's reaction to the Masters' transformation sequence.
  • Skeletor's dramatic reveal to the Masters turns hilarious during this exchange...
    He-Man: Uncle Keldor?
    Skeletor: Please, call me Skeletor.
    He-Man: ...Why?
Skeletor: [Dumbfounded] "Why"? Because — the bones, my face. I'm a living skull!
Battle Cat: Then shouldn't you be Skull-etor?
  • Teela lampshading how on-the-nose Evelyn's title of "Evil-lyn" for her transformation is.
  • Speaking of on-the-nose, there's Skeletor dealing with his mutiny with about as much seriousness as can be expected from a guy who had long seen it coming from a mile away—i.e. none at all, proceeding to rub it in their face just how Out-Gambitted they really were the entire time. The added bonus is him casually in the middle of his epic monologue breaking away to tell a mind-controlled Red Shirt to jump off a tall rock just because he can. The Red Shirt proceeds to do exactly that.
Skeletor: [feigning shock] Oh, Oh no. Are you coup-blocking ME with a coup of your own? Is there no honor among thieves?
Beast Man: Beast Man thinks Skelly's playing it a little on the nose.
Evil-Lyn: Which is saying something, considering he doesn't... have one.
  • While Skeletor has the Dark Masters at his mercy, he punishes Beast Man by making him punch himself in the face repeatedly. There's even a pause before the last punch, making Beast Man whimper with his ears disheveled.
  • Randor and Skeletor meet again after ten years, and Skeletor really wants to revel in the terror he spreads... though Randor isn't playing.
Randor: I've already failed my son. I won't fail my kingdom too. I will face Keldor myself.
Skeletor: [dramatic entrance] If only Little Brother had a face to face. Am I right?
    Randor: Keldor!
Skeletor: It's been a decade, and all I get is [mocking voice] "Keldor!"? [gestures dramatically] "Is he a ghost? Or a zombie? What foul spectre doth stand before me?!"
    Randor: [raises an eyebrow]
Skeletor: [gesturing with his face] Look, doesn't any of this shock and horrify you?
Randor: Ah — um, any of what? Did you get a haircut?
    [Randor, Tuvar and Baddrah laugh]
Skeletor: [deadpan] Hmmph. There's the Randy I remember.
  • And Skeletor, when He-Man, Battle Cat and the rest come charging in...
Skeletor: Somebody get me a Battle Cat for my birthday! Pardon me, He-Man, but... why won't you stay dead?!

Season Two

  • Tuvar and Baddrah trying to figure out if they're being mind controlled or not.
Tuvar: If we're being mind controlled... is me asking this question even me asking this question?
Baddrah: Well, if Skeletor's doing the controlling, why would he need you to ask that question? He'd know!
Tuvar: Yeah, but is that your answer, Baddrah? Or is it his answer?
Baddrah: [gasp] You've blown me mind, Tuvar!
    Tuvar: Or did he?!
  • Ork-0 is told by Teela to keep King Randor safe. His immediate response is to hover over the sleeping king and say, in a (hopefully unintentionally) spooky whisper: "Do you feel safe?" Needless to say, Randor freaks.
  • The inherent absurdity of He-Man and Skeletor trying to waltz their way across a room full of dancing robots that will explode at the drop of a hat to get to the sigil piece they're guarding.
    Skeletor: I hate this day.
    • Special mention goes to one of the robots ending up having a crush on Skeletor and trying to dance with him… Only for Stratos to fly in and unintentionally blow up all of the robots just as they’re about to get to him.
  • Almost the entirety of Meanwhile…; Skeletor being forced to celebrate his birthday with Duncan after they wind up being trapped in Castle Grayskull after a failsafe locks them into a Pocket Dimension, increasingly becoming wacky as Skeletor begins to enjoy his impromptu party thrown by Duncan. It's so ridiculous and silly it feels just like something out of the original He-Man! A few moments include:
    • Skeletor trying to hit a pinata that Duncan keeps pulling up, using his Havoc Staff to do so, only to eventually just blow it up.
    • The two are starting to stargaze, and Duncan sees in the stars him and Skeletor having a fun time. Skeletor meanwhile points out him giving Duncan an uppercut as he bursts out laughing.
    • As a result of the castle systems being glitched out, during Skeletor and Duncan's battle over the Wish Stone, the two end up having a Scooby-Dooby Doors moment with several doors, with Skeletor briefly getting stuck in a smaller door at one point, and Duncan warping right behind Skeletor instead of to safety at another.
    • In the next episode, Cringer is momentarily thrown when Duncan offhandedly refers to Skeletor as "the birthday boy" without an explanation.
  • Earlier in the episode, Skeletor is celebrating his birthday with Trap Jaw and Beast Man along with his (reluctant) citizens, as the former ends up presenting the Painthor to him. Skeletor's reaction to it is practically that of an excited little kid, and the light nod to it basically being Skeletor's Panthor only makes the moment more hilarious for those who watched previous shows.
  • Trap Jaw and Beast Man getting into a fight. And by "fight", we mean they pose like characters in a 2d fighting game with fitting Idle Animation while videogame music starts up. Then the scene cuts away before we actually see them go at it!
  • Tri-Klops making King Randor dance around the throne room has to be seen to be believed! And then Trap Jaw sends Tri-Klops to its room like a little kid getting scolded. And just before it flies out of the room it looks at its makers and beeps out "I'm sorry."
  • The brainwashed guards arresting a guy for jaywalking. Apparently, Skeletor really hates jaywalking.
  • At the start of The Battle of Avion, as the Masters have Skeletor on the ropes, Stratos picks this time to make both himself and his team known... Followed by a false opening sequence for his team that’s just the definition of Epic Fail. And following that is the actual show’s opening, as if the show is just saying “Hey, this is how it’s done.”
  • Ork-0 and the RK units, after the "Orkening," are building a tower out of random objects. One of the RK units exclaims in triumph: "We have the tower!"
  • In-between the pretty serious plot of Krass being manipulated by Skeletor and her own insecurities, there's Duncan and Cringer deciding to try out Keldor's throne for themselves. Apparently it's very comfy.

Season Three

  • Mer-Man's apparent death when he tries to help King Grayskull return and instead a giant reanimated snake emerges from his tomb. What else did you expect the last words of a character voiced by George Takei to be?
Mer-Man: That is not King Grayskull. Oh my...
[gets crushed under the giant snake]
  • A magic accident leaves the masters body swapped with a bunch of navits and Ork-0 has to figure out how to use magic for real to reverse it. Ork-0 manages the magic, but his first attempt returns them to the wrong bodies, resulting in hilariously alarmed reactions of the Masters, with Duncan rather disturbed at how much Adam's body stinks compared to his own.
  • After returning to Orko to reveal he was able to get the spell right, Ork-0 accidentally causes Orko's spell spheres to topple out of the chest holding them, while also causing Orko to fall into the chest. While picking himself out of the chest to reach down and grab some of the orbs, Orko randomly grows a long pair of legs, which quickly zip back up into his robe.
  • Man-At-Arms offering Trap Jaw when offering him to help stop Skeletor isn’t funny by itself, but this line make it hilarious.
Duncan: A good mechanic uses all of the tools in his belt. And you definitely are a tool.
  • This conversation during He-Man and Rampage vs. Skeletor...
Skeletor: [About to blast Krass with a Havoc beam] Don't make this any more awkward than it has to be, kid. I've actually enjoyed our time together.
    He-Man: [Offscreen] So have I!
[He-Man jumps towards Skeletor and Rampage, ready to fight. Skeletor just looks confused for a moment, until...]
Skeletor: ...You and I have never worked together.
He-Man: I-I meant, me and her.
Skeletor: Then why didn't you just say that? In fact, why say anything at all?
Rampage: Seriously, that was a terrible surprise attack.
He-Man: I just needed to announce myself in a dramatic way to keep him from crushing you, okay?!
  • Amidst the rubble of Castle Grayskull... is the long sought-after toilet.
    • Yet, no one seem to notice or even acknowledge it, even as Krass sits on it.
  • Duncan: "AAAH! She's on fire with familial love and self-actualization!!"
    • Krass actually tries to stop, drop, and roll, as Adam and Cringer pat her down before they realize she's not really on fire.
  • Evil-Lyn explains to Krass that Havoc reveals one's inner truth. Per her own words, her "inner truth" is bats, which she doesn't even like. Cue Horakoth crying a single tear. Becomes even funnier in the season finale when this construct is revealed to be Hordak, her father.
