Trivia / He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2021)

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
  • Defictionalization: In "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Heroes and Villains Guidebook", one of Skeletor's evil ambitions is to finish his autobiography. The second book in the Tales of Eternia series is that autobiography; "I, Skeletor".
  • Died During Production: Kevin Conroy who voiced Hordak in this incarnation in his brief cameo that set him up as the Big Bad of the next season unfortunately had passed away on November 10th, 2022 from late-stage intestinal cancer. Meaning that Hordak will have to be recast in following seasons.
  • Early Draft Tie-In: The "Heroes and Villains Guidebook", released before season 2's release, had Avion as part of Eternos' map. To represent the Avions, two citizens' faces are shown. Their faces take inspiration from the Stratos of the original show, where they have an entirely different design in the show proper. This would be repeated with season 3 and Mer-Man's redesign, albeit not as jarringly.
  • Full Circle Portraying: Roger Craig Smith is the second person to voice both Batman (first done in the Batman: Arkham Series prequel games) and Trap Jaw. The first is Diedrich Bader, who first voiced Batman in Batman: The Brave and the Bold and voiced Trap Jaw (in addition to King Randor) in Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
  • Remake Cameo:
    • King Grayskull is Alan Oppenheimer, who played multiple roles in the Filmation series, including Skeletor. When King Grayskull becomes evil from using Havoc, his voice changes to the classic Skeletor voice.
    • In the Italian dub Keldor/Skeletor is voiced by Maurizio Merluzzo, who voiced Adam/He-Man in Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
    • In the Latin American Spanish dub, Ruben Moya, who voiced Adam/He-Man in the original series, now voice King Randor instead.
  • Role Reprise:
    • In the Italian dub, Fabrizio Mazzotta voices Ork-0 after voicing the regular Orko in Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
    • In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, Mario Jorge reprises his role as Ork-0, having voiced Orko in the past three series.
  • Show Accuracy/Toy Accuracy: The designs of the toyline are very accurate to that of the show, but there are a few inconsistancies.
    • Instead of the tentacled hovering robot, the toy iteration of Tri-Klops goes for a human wearing the visor in green, similar to the original series' design of the character. While it's meant to be Tri-Klops controlling an Eternos soldier, the robot is green rather than a show accurate metallic color.
    • Cosmic Terror Skeletor has the Sword of Power and Havoc Staff sticking out of his back rather than his arms like in the show. Justified as the sword and staff act as levers for the toy's action feature.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The first Tales of Eternia book for the series was planned to be "Ork-0's Day Off". This would later be changed to the release of "The Hunt for Moss Man", with the original book scrapped with unknown plans for release.
    • The planned fourth season would have featured an invasion by Hordak and his forces, with half the Masters splitting up to head for Earth while the other half stay on Eternia to lead a resistance.
