Prologue

• Rantaro's first meeting with Kokichi. The fact that his unpleasantness is so amped up and exaggerated compared to canon can come across so jarring to the point it's funny. Not to mention the virtually non existent segues that may or may not be intentional on the authors end.
  Kokichi: BRILLIANT! SPECTACULAR! TRULY INCREDIBLE! THIS PAST HOUR HAS BEEN EASILY THE MOST FULLFULLING EXPERIENCE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE!
  Rantaro: ...You're lying through your teeth you little squirt.
  Kokichi: ...Yeah that's true. Lie detectors are kinda hot to me, you wanna go on a date sometime? The name's Kokichi Oma, Ultimate Supreme Leader.
  Rantaro: Sorry dude don't bend that way, if you catch my drift.
  Kokichi: Eh It's fine, I prefer clowns anyway.
  Rantaro: Narcissism isn't cute you know.
  Kokichi: ...WELL FUCK YOU TOO! YOU COCKSUCKING, DEGENERATE, PIECE OF SHIT, HOMOPHOBIC MOTHERFUCKER! GO ROLL INTO A LAKE AND DROWN!
  Rantaro: Well alright then! I guess i should just go!
  Kokichi: GOOD IDEA!
• Ryoma's can provide a bit of Cringe Comedy, with how bad Rantaro is at talking to him.
  • Ryoma's pun can provide a quick chuckle as well.
  Rantaro: Thanks. You want to hang later?
  Ryoma: Sure, I'll make a noose if you want.

Chapter 1

• The image of Tenko being tied down to her bed after she knocked Rantaro out can be amusing to think about.
• As Rantaro is being tended to by Kirumi inside of his room, Kokichi comes in, begging for her to spend sometime with him. Kirumi, clearly desperately trying to avoid him, pawns him off to Rantaro like a mother who was in the middle of work trying to distract her child.
  • Naturally speaking, Rantaro's annoyed, it's at that point Kirumi drops her confident aura and basically nervously pleads with Rantaro to go along with it. He begrudgingly agrees to do as long as Kirumi makes it up to him later on.
  • Rantaro get's a good one in Kokichi's free time event.
  Rantaro's Thoughts: Holy shit I was right! All politicians really are douchebags!
• During one of Miu's Free Time Events, Rantaro talks about his experiences in middle school before coming to Hope's Peak. Upon him stating the name of the middle school he went to, Miu realises that they actually went to the same one as eachother. As it turns out, contrary to his game counterpart, Rantaro was apparently a ladies man.
  • It gets even better towards the end of it. Miu ends up giving Rantaro one of her new inventions. A pair of glasses that can see through different stuff, walls, skin, clothes. No points for guessing which was the default setting, considering it's creator.
• Kirumi's Free Time event has her and Rantaro baking cupcakes for the class. Including Miu after hearing about her homelife after what happened earlier that day. When they are trying to squirt icing onto the cakes, Kirumi winds up squeezing the tube too hard, splattering it all over her face. Does she get mad? Nope! She bursts out laughing!
  • Following that, remember her agreeing to compensate Rantaro for distracting Kokichi? It comes back! How does she do so? By giving Rantaro the underwear she was wearing.
    • This entire scene basically serves to show how even Kirumi can be a bit of a goofball when she wants to.
• During Rantaro, Kaito, Shuichi and Gonta's bonding session in the bathhouse, the 4 of them are talking about standard stuff, with Kaito flat out complimenting Rantaro on his surprising muscle mass. It's at that point the 4 of them notice some noises coming from the outside door. It turns out to be Kokichi and Angie. It shouldn't be a surprise as to what follows afterwards.
  • What's even better is that this is what provides Kokichi and Angie's alibis for Kirumi's murder.
  • Come Chapter 6 and there's some Fridge Humour to think about. With the revelation of Kaito actually being the mastermind of the killing game, also comes the realisation that Tsumugi was disguised as him up until they were murdered. Then you remember that Kaito was the person to organise and come up with the idea for the bathhouse session. Given Tsumugi's hobbies, as well as the stereotypes associated with them, it's not hard to imagine that it probably wasn't for the "bonding exercise" that "Kaito" said the Bathhouse Session was for.

• During the party, when Miu and Rantaro flip a coin over whether or not there will be any more murders, the coin lands in Miu's chest. When Rantaro goes to grab it, Kokichi shoves his head into her breasts. To make it even worse, this all takes place in front of everyone else, including both Miu and Rantaro's Love Interests.

Chapter 4

• At the start of the trial, it is immediately established that all of the boys have ironclad alibis, since they were the three that triggered the body discovery announcement, with Tenko letting out a Big "WHAT?!" when that means a girl had to be the culprit. Afterwards when it is established how Kaede also has an alibi, due to sleeping with Rantaro when the murder occurred, Rantaro has not so flattering descriptions of the three remaining suspects.
  Rantaro: Given the information we have, there are a total of 3 suspects. Those being, the backstabbing cow.
  Maki: Okay, low blow.
  Rantaro: Tits McGee.
  Miu: Ooooohhhh! Such savageness! It’s unbearable! OOOOOHHHHH!
  Rantaro: (Did she just… Nevermind.) And the misandrist.
  Tenko: And proud of it!
