Funny / Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon

  • "Invincible" Rummy's appearance is as short-lived as it is amusing. From believing he's a demi-god despite being ranked dead last in the Arena (something that Ayre notes with aplomb) to his hammy lines and final words, his whole existence is a joke unto itself.
    Rummy: N... No! MAD STOOOMP!!!
    • If Rummy somehow manages to kill you, his victory line with his accent is one F-bomb away from channeling Sundowner.
    Rummy: Whoo! I'm INVINCIBLE!
  • Everything about G1 Michigan. A Drill Sergeant Nasty to the point of parody, you'd be hard-pressed to find a line where he isn't insulting his subordinates, enemies, or you. His raucous personality is a humorous break from the largely serious pilots encountered throughout the game.
G1 Michigan: Albany! I forgotten we still kept you around! Iguazu is worth a hundred of you! Which means, Albany, the merc is worth 20 of him! You're doing nothing productive... Why don't you do the math for us?!
Osawa: The answer's 2,000 Albanys, sir!
G1 Michigan: Shut your stink hole and start shooting!
    Osawa: Uhhh... Sir, yessir!
  • During New Game Plus on Chapter 2, you get Carla for your Mission Control for the hacking drone mission, she complains that the Coyotes could've done their attack with more flair (she would've just raided from the air and ripped her physical servers out of her base), as well as complaining about the hackers stealing her crypto keys.
  • Both "Cinder" Carla and Ayre can't tolerate "Honest" Brute's antics, asking you to shut him up for good.
Ayre (who's clearly annoyed): Raven... I'm starting to get confused, it'll help if you could shut him up.
  • If Iguazu is disabled first when confronting the Ice Worm (which he almost certainly will), V.II Snail and G1 Michigan start taking verbal potshots at each other in the middle of the high-stakes mission for petty squabbles.
G5 Iguazu: Don't do this to me, HEAD BRINGER! I'm not going down first!
V.II Snail: Pathetic. Is that all Balam's Redguns can muster?
G1 Michigan: I see Arquebus sent a top Vesper to provide running commentary.
    • Amusingly Snail is likely to fall back soon after Iguazu. Sometime he retreats first
  • While you're supposed to bring the Stun Needle Launcher to the fight against the IA-02 Ice Worm, nothing is stopping you from not bringing it. That's not to say you won't get chewed out for it in hilarious fashion:
G1 Michigan: G13! Let's see that fancy gizmo that Arquebus paid the big bucks for. What?! You didn't bring it?! G13, Your ability to ruin my field trips is uncanny!
    Ayre: (sighs)
  • "Cinder" Carla Hijacking the COMS on her Arena's battle data when you fight her AC, much to ALLMIND'S confusion due how unexpected the ordeal was, mind you this is the only time it happens, once you finish the battle ALLMIND shuts Carla down and recovers control, apologizing for the unexpected circumstances on the simulator.
  • If you wait some time after Ayre pinpoints the location of the access point to open the partition at the Reach the end of the Depth 1 mission, she will try to make a chat about the NEPENTHES' name sake, then asking C4-621 to keep going.
  • So how do you get the info of the last Arena Analysis battle being available? Ayre decided to pull an ALLMIND imitation, then sheepishly feeling she needed to clarify it was her.
Ayre: "Registration number rb23. Callsign Raven. Your Records have been updated." ...Sorry Raven, it's just me.
  • For those that go on a Self-Imposed Challenge of never touching the Arena, and thus never getting the OS Tuning upgrades, on a fresh save taken all the way to the very final mission of NG++, and then finally complete all of the Arena at this point in time, ALLMIND is blatantly confused and wonders why you're bothering giving it Analysis data when it's pretty much irrelevant at that point considering they already dealt with everyone else and the only pilot left is C4-621. If you don't even touch the Training tutorials on a fresh save and complete them at this point, ALLMIND genuinely is flabbergasted and stumbles over its own words that 621, who by this point is The Ace of all aces and the last pilot of worth standing, came this far off of pure instinct alone.
ALLMIND: Is this correct? You...never archived certification until now? But how did you? What were you thinking!? This is all very confusing...but thank you for participating.
  • After the mission "Attack the Refueling Base", V. VIII Pater will call you up and deliver a message from V. IV Rusty. What seals the deal, however, is how he decides to deliver said message: by doing an absolutely ATROCIOUS impression of Rusty's way of talking.
    V. VIII Pater: "I knew you could do it... 'buddy'. I've got my eye on you." *beat* ... Uh, that is all...
    • What makes this even funnier is that Pater's JP voice actor admitted on stream that From Soft had prepared all sorts of voice lines for the missions that ended up being cut from the main game, but this impression in particular had to be done by himself because From wanted to add more dialogue from Rusty but due to scheduling conflicts, Rusty's voice actor wasn't available at the time, so they made Pater do an impression of him instead.
  • While you're supposed to take V.VII Swinburne by surprise and get a free shot to his back, there's nothing stopping you from simply walking up to his AC for a friendly chat. It takes him several seconds to realize that the random war machine the size of his own is not one of his grunt's MTs and actually open fire, accusing you of disguising yourself even though you did no such thing.
    • Furthermore, you can take up his offer, and shoot him dead anyway. The usually straightforward Ayre will take a moment to wonder whether Walter taught you that underhanded move.
    • Even better, Swinburne dies to anything hitting him once his guard is down. You can purge your right hand weapon just to slug him with your bare fist if you feel like it, or embrace your inner Patches and give him a Boost Kick.
    • Speaking of Patches, there's some meta-humor behind Ayre's assumption that Walter taught you that move; Patrick Seitz, Walter's voice actor, was also the voice of the original Patch The Good Luck, all the way back in Armored Core: For Answer before William Vanderpuye took over the role in Patches' more famous appearances. In a way, you could have learned it from him!
  • Rokumonsen is dedicated to the LARP of being a ninja it's almost a Mood Whiplash, regardless of his place on the gritty battlefield of Rubicon-3. Evidently, he can form perfectly-structured and situation-relevant haikus on the fly despite how rightfully pissed off he is at 621's betrayal.
