What would have happened if Goku fell into the world of Shuumatsu no Valkyrie is a crossover between Dragon Ball Super and Record of Ragnarok found on YouTube by Zairux. It is done in a similar style to the Masako X - Dragon Ball What-If videos. Episodes 1-10 are combined into a single video here.

One day, Goku is bored and asks Whis for a strong opponent. Whis obliges by opening a portal to another universe. Goku lands in the Record of Ragnarok version of Earth just in time to be recruited by Brunhilde for the Ragnarok tournament after he got into a fight with and knocked out her original choice, Lü Bu. Later, Vegeta and Gohan look for Goku, so Whis sends them through the portal and they join the tournament as well.

  • An Arm and a Leg: Vegeta blasts off both of Poseidon's arms.
  • Apologetic Attacker: Hercules apologizes for using his club against Gohan who is fighting barehanded, but he must win.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: During the Adam and Zeus match, Goku is the first to notice Adam is suffering from Heroic RRoD and explains to Brunhilde and Göll that his body cannot handle fighting on the level of a god for too long.
  • Badass Boast: When Poseidon offers to pause their match until Vegeta can receive a Volund, Vegeta declares, "I don't need a weapon to defeat an insect like you!"
  • Batman Grabs a Gun: Before his fight, Vegeta says he won't need to use Super Saiyan against Poseidon, but is forced to use it and then Super Saiyan 2 to win. Goku calls him out on breaking his promise, and Vegeta admits that Poseidon was tougher than he thought.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Like in the original, Ares and Göll are horrified for their adoptive sibling Hercules when he resorts to using the Twelve Labors to even the odds against Gohan. Before the fight, Göll begged Gohan not to kill him and he agreed.
  • Big Damn Heroes: After Adam lost and two of her team members bailed, Brunhilde had no idea who to send out for the third match. Vegeta and Gohan arrive and agree to participate once they are filled in.
  • Bishōnen Line: Azathoth starts out as a massive tentacled monster, but then transforms into a much more powerful humanoid form.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion:
    • Goku easily defeats Thor, but not before Thor hits him with his hammer, which really hurt. Goku is forced to go Super Saiyan to defeat him.
    • Vegeta easily defeats Poseidon, but not before Poseidon stabs him with his trident twice. Vegeta is forced to go Super Saiyan 2 to defeat him.
  • Death by Adaptation:
    • When Shiva is on his way to his match with Tameemon Raiden, Beerus and Whis arrive in front of him. After insults are traded, Shiva ends up disintegrated by Beerus' Hakai.
    • This temporarily happens to everybody in Record of Ragnarok when Azathoth wipes them out. Zeno convinces him to bring them back.
  • Defiant to the End: After Poseidon loses both of his arms, Vegeta offers him a chance to surrender and live. Poseidon angrily refuses and charges with his trident in his teeth. Vegeta is forced to knock him out.
  • Didn't See That Coming:
    • Like in the original, the gods only agreed to hold the Ragnarok tournament to amuse themselves, thinking no champion humanity could field stood a chance against them. They are completely shocked when Goku, Adam, and the others can fight on their level.
    • Goku is surprised and says this world is pretty crazy when Brunhilde summons Adam, the first man, making him realize the dead walk among the living.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: The gods are horrified when Zeus reveals his plan to unleash an apocalyptic being on humanity if the gods lose Ragnarok.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: Ares, Loki, and others beg Zeus not to go through his plan to unleash an apocalyptic being because it is uncontrollable and will likely destroy the gods and the planet.
  • Explaining Your Power to the Enemy: As a sign of respect, Gohan demonstrates his transformations to Hercules and explains them as he does. Vegeta gets annoyed and thinks Gohan is stupid to do this.
  • The Force Is Strong with This One:
    • Goku and Vegeta can sense someone in the Ragnarok coliseum who is roughly as strong as Beerus, but they cannot tell who it is. It turns out to be Azathoth.
    • Hercules is the only god who bothers trying to sense Gohan, letting him know that Gohan is a true challenge.
  • God Guise: The gods begin to suspect that Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan are gods in disguise after seeing their power. Technically right when it comes to Goku and Vegeta because they can go Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue, but they were born mortal and Gohan has no god transformation.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Since Azathoth is way too powerful to fight, the group has no choice but to ask Zeno and Grand Priest for help.
  • Heroes Fight Barehanded: Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan all decline the use of Volunds and simply use martial arts (and one energy blast for Vegeta and Gohan).
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Before their fight, Hercules comments that if Gohan is indeed the son of Goku, he must be just as strong. Gohan sighs and says he is not as strong as his father.
  • Hope Bringer: In general, all the champions of humanity are this for the humans since they are fighting to save everyone. Even before the first match started, Brunhilde says she cannot explain it, but Goku fills her with confidence that humanity can win.
  • Hope Spot: After defeating Thor, Goku wanted to fight six other gods, hoping to win Ragnarok with a clean sweep so that nobody would be endangered. Brunhilde bursts his bubble by telling him each fighter can only fight once.
  • How Is That Even Possible?: The gods, Brunhilde, and Göll are all baffled and ask how the Saiyans are so powerful.
  • I Lied: Zeus secretly reveals to the gods that he has no intention of letting humanity live if they win Ragnarok. He has an apocalyptic being sealed away, and if the gods lose, he will unleash it.
  • Jump Scare: Goku lands his final blow to Thor and seemingly knocks him out. As he is about to be declared the winner, Thor suddenly gets up, which actually manages to scare Goku. Fortunately, Thor only has time to acknowledge his strength before passing out, giving Goku the victory.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em:
    • The gods are all enraged when Goku interferes with the Zeus and Adam match and many were ready to jump down and attack him. They stand down when they remember that he just defeated Thor, the strongest Norse god. Zeus also stands down because he is completely exhausted and heavily injured from fighting Adam.
    • When Vegeta and Gohan arrive at the coliseum looking for Goku, the guards refuse to let them in, dismissing them as mortals who were late to Ragnarok, and attempt to escort them off the premises. Angered, Vegeta tells them off and flares some of his power, which scares them into giving up and letting them in.
    • When Beerus barges into the coliseum, kills Shiva, and offers to take his place, Zeus and Loki confront him, but after sensing his power, back off.
  • Let's Fight Like Gentlemen:
    • Partly due to wanting a better fight and as a courtesy, Goku stands there and does not interrupt Thor when he removes his Járngreipr gloves so he can fight at his full potential.
    • Poseidon offers Vegeta a chance to arm himself, only for Vegeta to decline and prove he did not need to.
    • After fighting for a bit, Hercules asks Gohan to use his full potential and stands there when Gohan demonstrates Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and his Mystic Form. Gohan returns the favor by standing there when Hercules activates the Twelve Labors.
    • Beerus agrees to stand there and let Tameemon Raiden remove his limiters.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Beerus, bored with Tameemon and wanting a real challenge, breaks the seals on Azathoth, then a partially blinded and delirious Tameemon kills the last guardian keeping him asleep. The first thing Azathoth does upon awakening is wipe out the entire Record of Ragnarok universe of all life. Then Beerus realizes Azathoth is much more powerful than him.
  • No-Sell:
    • Shiva and Tameemon Raiden's attacks do nothing to Beerus, even when they remove their limiters.
    • Pretty much nothing works on Azathoth, not even Hakai or even Zeno's Erase. Only Grand Priest can hurt him so far.
  • "Not So Different" Remark:
    • Vegeta tells Poseidon that they are alike because of their great pride. However, Vegeta says he has learned to temper his pride due to his love for his family, which is why he will win.
    • Gohan says he and Hercules are alike since they are both heroes who fight for justice.
  • Outside-Context Problem: A few of the higher level gods like Zeus and Odin are aware that there are other worlds and dimensions, but nobody in this world has ever heard of a Saiyan and everybody is shocked that a Saiyan can fight a god without a divine weapon.
  • Pitiful Worms: Vegeta constantly calls everyone insects.
  • The Power of Love: Vegeta tells Poseidon that his drive to protect his family is what pushes him to become stronger.
  • Pretender Diss: When Shiva calls himself the God of Destruction, Beerus says he is nothing compared to the true God of Destruction and kills him.
  • Punch Catch: When Zeus is about to finish off Adam, Goku speeds in and catches his punch in time.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Vegeta tells Poseidon that him being aloof and alienating everyone due to believing he is perfect is no way to live and not the path to true strength.
  • The Reveal: Brunhilde reveals the apocalyptic being Zeus is using as a secret weapon is the outer god Azathoth.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here:
    • When Adam lost, two undisclosed members of Brunhilde's team fled the coliseum in fear, leaving two spots open so Vegeta and Gohan could join.
    • Zeus and Odin say if they lose control of his apocalyptic being and it destroys the planet, the gods can just move to another universe. It doesn't work when Azathoth instantly vaporizes everyone as soon as he wakes up.
  • Secret-Keeper: Goku whispers to Thor that he is from another world during their fight out of respect. Thor agrees to keep it secret. When Vegeta and Gohan arrive, they tell Brunhilde and Göll the truth about themselves.
  • Sneeze Cut: Back in Universe 7, Beerus sneezes after Goku and Vegeta discuss how they can sense someone among the gods will a ki level similar to Beerus.
  • So Proud of You: Goku is very happy when Gohan admits he was looking for him because he wanted to train with him and shed his pacifism.
  • Spared by the Adaptation:
    • Goku knocks out Lü Bu and takes his place in the match against Thor, then defeats Thor by knocking him out. This means Lü Bu and his Volund, Randgriz, survive.
    • When Adam is about to lose to Zeus, Goku, who was moved by Adam's strength and love for his family, interferes to block Zeus' final attack, then takes Adam to the infirmary. Adam is disqualified, but least he and his Volund, Reginleif, survive.
    • Vegeta takes Sasaki Kojiro's place and defeats Poseidon by knocking him out, where in the original, Kojiro killed him.
    • Gohan takes Jack the Ripper's place and defeats Hercules by knocking him out, where in the original, Jack killed him.
  • Underestimating Badassery:
    • The gods tend to underestimate the fighters representing humanity. Heimdall learns his lesson after Vegeta's victory and introduces Gohan respectfully when it is his turn.
    • Vegeta did not take Poseidon seriously at first, which gets him stabbed.
    • The gods do not understand the Super Saiyan transformations and just assume that their hair turned yellow. When they finally understand that the transformations make them stronger, they mock Gohan when he resorts to his Mystic Form since they think he turned back to normal. In contrast, Hercules is able to sense him and realizes he is even stronger than Super Saiyan 2.
    • Beerus made a similar mistake that Vegeta made regarding Cell, thinking that Azathoth would only be strong enough to be a decent challenge, only to find he is too strong to handle.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: When they find Goku, Vegeta yells at him for going on this adventure without him while Gohan points out he left without telling his family. Goku apologizes.
  • Why Won't You Die?:
    • The gods are all shocked when Goku survives a direct hit from Thor's hammer.
    • The gods are all shocked when Gohan survives a direct hit from Hercules' club. The only one who was not surprised was Hercules himself.
  • The Worf Effect:
    • Brunhilde comments to Göll that she was planning to recruit Lü Bu because he was considered the World's Strongest Man. Imagine her surprise when Goku knocked him out with one punch.
    • Shiva is the Hindu God of Destruction, but Beerus kills him with one attack.
    • Azathoth knocks out Beerus with ease.
  • Worthy Opponent:
    • Goku and Thor are both impressed by each other's strength.
    • Like in the original, Zeus is impressed by Adam.
    • Though Vegeta looked down on Poseidon at first, he admits that he is amazing when he briefly cornered Vegeta and then refused to quit after losing both of his arms.
    • Gohan respects Hercules after Göll tells the story of his heroism. In turn, Hercules respects Gohan for fighting barehanded and after he shows off his transformations and he realizes just how strong Gohan is.
    • Azathoth respects Whis and Grand Priest for putting up a fight and Zeno for being his peer.
  • Wrecked Weapon: At the end of their fight, Goku shatters Thor's hammer with a punch.
  • Your Magic's No Good Here:
    • Discussed. Before Whis sends Vegeta and Gohan through the portal, he warns them that some universes reduce your power or even cut it off. He tried to warn Goku, but he didn't pay attention. Fortunately, they learn this does not apply to the Record of Ragnarok world and they are at full power.
    • Played straight when Whis goes to the Record of Ragnarok world and finds that though he still has his physical powers, his Time Master powers don't work.
