The fic contains the following tropes:

  • Adaptation Deviation:
    • Ava Ayala/White Tiger joins Shuchi'in's Student Council Committee as the fifth member before Miko Iino.
    • Instead of being banned to participate in the summer festival like in canon, Kaguya is ordered by her father to go there and steal.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: In the manga, Ai Hayasaka's hair is blonde. In Queen of Thieves, her natural hair color is silver but dyes her hair blonde when she's in her civilian persona.
  • Anti-Villain: The reason why Kaguya is stealing is to build up 50 million Yen to pay to her family and be free from their affairs. Kaguya admits to Hayaska that once that's done, she'll drop the Black Cat identity for good.
  • Anywhere but Their Lips: Black Cat kisses Spider-Man on the cheek after he lets her go.
  • Betty and Veronica: Shirogane has his primary love interest, Kaguya and another one in the form of the superheroine, White Tiger.
  • Broken Pedestal: White Tiger became suspicious towards Spider-Man after seeing him freeing Black Cat. However, she let it slide after hearing Spidey's explanation.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • The Sinister Six completely destroyed Spider-Man when he was tricked into their ambush.
    • Then they, along with Hammerhead, were on the receiving end when the symbiote-empowered Spider-Man was free.
  • Didn't Think This Through: While Kaguya uses thievery as the fastest means to gain funds, she did not realize until a maid tells her that her gains are being offset by the cost she incurs from using the family resources to pull of her heists. Not only that, her family has blackmail material to keep her in check if she goes against them.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Kaguya has a few rules she follows by when she dons her Black Cat guise. First is that she won't kill people. And second, she won't rob banks because that's beneath her.
  • False Flag Operation: Hammerhead ordered Black Cat and Silver Cat to convince Spider-Man that they performed Heel–Face Turn and lured him into a trap where the Sinister Six would ambushed him.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: As Shirogane puts it.
Shirogane: It doesn't matter how much you've gone through in your life. It doesn't give you the right to be selfish. Being selfish is a choice. And if you use your own circumstances as a cop-out, then in the end, that's just an excuse.
  • Generation Xerox:
    • Junpei Jonah Jameson follows his father's footsteps in slandering Spider-Man.
    • Ai Hayasaka inherits the Silver Sable title from her mother.
  • Irony:
    • Both Spider-Man and Black Cat have a fierce rivalry with each other, not knowing that they are their respective love interests. Makes even more complicated when they start falling for their alter egos.
    • Miko Iino respects Spider-Man but hates Shirogane. Ishigami and even the Narrator can't help but laugh at this.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Junpei makes a good point that the police did their duty in stopping crime without hiding their faces behind masks unlike Spider-Man who does. However, Miko, while does agree with that point, argues that the circumstances between the cops and vigilantes are different and not to mention, the cops can't even handle supervillains.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: During the week, Shirogane had to fight and capture the Shocker, Vulture, Rhino, Chameleon and Electro all while preparing for an exam.
  • Related in the Adaptation:
    • In this adaptation, Ai Hayasaka is the daughter of Silver Sable.
    • Yuriko Watanabe is the older sister of Miko Iino.
  • Secret-Keeper:
    • Ai and Chika know that Kaguya is the Black Cat.
    • Ishigami knows that Shirogane is Spider-Man.
  • Shout-Out: Doctor Octopuss tossing a student out the window is based on an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants.
  • Truce Zone: Shuchi'in Academy is the only place where the children of superheroes and supervillains can mingle together. This was made by their parents who while they despise each other, they don't want their kids to be caught up in their feuds.
  • What You Are in the Dark:
    • Black Cat chooses to rescue a girl from a collapsing building than choosing to search for the diamonds she just stolen.
    • Shortly after, Spider-Man finally captures Black Cat but in the end, lets her go after seeing her rescue a child and also seeing the huge turmoil she's in.
    • Although Black Cat aided in Spider-Man's capture, she ultimately tried saving him from the Sinister Six.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility: Shirogane took this to heart after learning it from a placard at the academy.
  • Yandere: Kaguya slips into a murderous rage after somehow sensing White Tiger kissing Spider-Man (Shirogane).
