Joining Forces as One is a Marvel Cinematic Universe and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power crossover by FalkorFics. In it, Adora is a Super-Soldier created from the blood of Captain America and named after the protagonist of the original She-Ra cartoon. When her first mission goes wrong and she's captured by Shield, she ends up on a path to joining Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

This work contains examples of:

  • Abusive Parents: Doctor Santos, the creator of Catra and Adora, taking the role of Shadow Weaver from the cartoon. Fittingly Enough, it's eventually revealed that she IS Shadow Weaver. And Catra's Mother!
  • Adaptational Badass: Agent Smith is revealed to be Kyle. This means Kyle goes from being a wimpy Butt-Monkey to a SHIELD Agent willing to hold a still-villainous Catra at gunpoint, run towards danger to save lives, and disobey Alexander Pierce to protect Adora and a post Heel–Face Turn Catra.
  • Adaptational Species Change: Catra goes from a cat-like alien to a human girl spliced with feline genetics after birth.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Adora's She-Ra abilities are absent here. She's still a Super-Soldier, but she has no magical transformation ability.
  • Age Lift: Entrapta is usually the oldest of the Princess Alliance. Here, she's implied to be younger than Catra. Likewise, Kyle is older than either Catra or Adora, unlike in canon. At least enough to be a skilled SHIELD agent.
  • Composite Character:
    • Natasha and Clint take on some of Glimmer and Bow's traits, namely their friendship with Adora and how they helped her come to a heel realization and change sides.
    • Entrapta is given the name of her robot Emily as a civilian identity in this world.
  • Darker and Edgier: Adora. Unlike her canon counterpart, this Adora is far more willing to kill her enemies. It makes sense as she was deliberatley trained to be an assassin. This is best demonstrated during the battle of New York, where she's described as breaking Chitauri necks, coldly pulling off headshots, and at one point performs a Bane-Style backbreaker. Then there’s her coldly gunning down Alexander Pierce at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  • Deadpan Snarker: Catra, as in canon, but also Adora on occasion.
  • Decomposite Character: Shadow Weaver is split into two separate beings. Her human body is Doctor Lorraine Santos, the creator of Catra and Adora and Catra's birth mother. Her powers and name are taken by the Eldritch Abomination Inperatio, the Weaver of Shadow, who's revealed in Chapter 14 to be possessing Lorraine and driving her most evil and cruel actions.
  • Luke, You Are My Father: Steve is rather surprised to learn that he has a clone/daughter after he's thawed out, let's just say that.
  • Oblivious Guilt Slinging: After lying to Entrapta and manipulating her into running away from Doctor Santos out of paranoia of being replaced, Catra is suddenly hugged by the young girl who calls her "a good friend". She's clearly guilty about this.
  • Opposite-Sex Clone: Hydra somehow obtained some of Steve's blood, which they used to clone Adora. It's later clarified that they used Natasha's DNA in order to fill in the gaps as it were.
  • Refuge in Audacity: How does Tony solve the issue of Adora's hero name? He simply buys out the She-Ra franchise so she can legally use "She-Ra".
  • Related in the Adaptation: In this universe, Adora is Steve's clone/daughter. Not only that, but it's eventually revealed that Catra is the biological daughter of Shadow Weaver's counterpart.
    • The Winter Soldier arc's aftermath reveals that Adora was made using Natasha's DNA as well, and that Catra's biological father was James Barnes.
  • Running Gag: The Avengers meeting up to try and figure out a Superhero name for Adora. And her rejecting all of them.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Catra has quite a potty mouth in this universe. The Archive of our Own version even has it referenced in the tags!
  • Super-Soldier: Adora is one, created from Steve's blood.
  • Tranquil Fury: Adora’s reaction to learning the full extent of the abuse Santos put Catra through is an eerily calm “I’m gonna Fucking kill her”
  • Wham Episode: Civil War, as in the source material. Not only are the Avengers Broken, Catra is forced on the run away from Adora due to the accords. Even worse, Entrapta gets teleported to an alien ship, where she discovers HORDE PRIME!
