Chastity is a comic book character created by writer Brian Pullido and artist Steven Hughes as a guest character in Evil Ernie. She was originally published by Chaos! Comics and has since been sold to Dynamite Entertainment where she has had intermittent miniseries appearances. She has had crossovers with Hack/Slash and Vampirella.

Chastity Marks is a young punk rock fan girl in the late 1970s who gets turned into a vampire during an attempt to get a job at a night club. Chastity proceeds to become a Hunter of Their Own Kind and remains a Friendly Neighborhood Vampire (unlike counterpart Purgatori). This doesn't prevent her from being a dark and brutal killer of her fellow undead, however.

While an iconic example of the Bad Girl Comic heroine, Chastity is notably a great deal more heroic than typical Chaos Comic heroines and actively attempts to protect the innocent. Many of the stories deal with her attempts to live a reasonably normal life and avoid the viciousness of her fellow vampires while retaining her rock and roll lifestyle.

She has an on again, off again romance with fellow vampire hunter MidKnight and was involved in a long term romance with Nob's frontman, Billy Zone.

     General
  • Action Girl: Chastity is a vampire slaying vampire and a woman who kicks all sorts of ass.
  • Antihero: Only by comic book standards as Chastity protects the innocent and prefers to kill monsters rather than humans but will do the latter if they're especially vile.
  • Bad Girl Comic: A vampire punk/goth girl who worked as an assassin for a council of vampires to kill other vampires.
  • Boyish Short Hair: Chastity has shorter hair than most comic book women, usually keeping it in a bob.
  • Cartwright Curse: Chastity has a history of getting involved with handsome heroic men that die horribly.
  • Characterization Marches On: Chastity went from being a typical Bad Girl Comic Villain Protagonist to the most heroic in Chaos Comics. She gets even more Lighter and Softer in Dynamite Entertainment.
  • David Versus Goliath: Any battle between Purgatori and Chastity as the former is a demon goddess that has overthrown Lucifer several times while the other is an "ordinary" vampire teenager.
  • Dressed Like a Dominatrix: Some of Chastity's outfits have elements of this with lots of tight leather and buckles.
  • Expy: Chastity has a lot of similarities to Sonja Blue by Nancy A. Collins. This includes being a living vampire punk rock girl who hunts other vampires.
  • Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Chastity is a protector of the innocent and does her best to avoid feeding on humans unless they're completely evil. This is a notable contrast to Purgatori, who is a full-on Villain Protagonist.
  • Good Bad Girl: While dressing like any other Chaos Comics or Dynamite Entertainment heroine, she is one of the nicer and more heroic as well as less inclined to kill lovers.
  • Hunter of Their Own Kind: One of Chastity's primary foes is her fellow vampires. In the reboot, she works for the Cabal (see The Illuminati entry) to destroy rogue monsters.
  • Monster Misogyny:
    • Most of the villains that Chastity fights have a tendency to go after nubile young women and have sexist attitudes.
    • In the reboot, she rescues a bunch of victims of human trafficking that are going to be fed to monsters.
  • Ms. Fanservice: The pages love detailing every detail of Chastity's Most Common Superpower and butt with Chastity's costume and She-Fu.
  • Perky Goth: Chastity loves dark and spooky things as well as is a vampire. She's also cheerful and happy.
  • Redheads Are Ravishing: Midknight really likes Chastity as do many other men (and women) in the comics.
  • Riot Grrrl: A feminist heroine who absolutely punk rock and Goth music. She routinely beats up misogynists and still finds time to hang out in clubs in her black leather outfits with fishnets.
  • Stripperiffic: Chastity's original costume accented her breasts and behind while not really loving much to the imagination.

     Chaos Comics (1995-2002)
  • Abusive Parents: Chastity's father was abusive in the original Chaos comic books, driving her to run away.
  • Archenemy: Chastity actually has this in Purgatori who killed her in the original timeline (she got better) and wants to either enslave her as a Sex Slave or destroy her for good. Chastity just wants her dead.
  • Chainmail Bikini: Chastity's original outfit is a black bikini and bondage wear.
  • Heel–Face Turn: This was especially pronounced in Chastity's case. While she remained a vampire assassin, in her first appearances she enjoyed killing innocents for fun. Later on, in her origin story, we find that she didn't even kill her abusive father; she only humiliated him to end his abuse of her and her mother, something uncharacteristic of the Chastity we see in her earliest appearances. In the first issue of the Evil Ernie ongoing series, she even says she won't kill innocents, making all this something more of a Retcon.
  • Mook Horror Show: Chastity once got harassed by a group of bikers with, well, less than honorable intentions toward her virtue. She ends up slaughtering them all.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Chastity is a vampire and Midnight is a vampire hunter. They're both hot for one another.

     Dynamite Entertainment (2014-Present)
  • Absolute Cleavage: Alyce Stonecliff wears a business suit with no undershirt or bra.
  • Abusive Parents: The Dynamite reboot makes her mother a Stage Mom who wanted her to be an Olympic gymnast.
  • Aborted Arc: Chastity volume 2 introduced a family of human trafficking werewolves called the Zoo. There was never a sequel to deal with them, though.
  • Cain and Abel: Raymond, Chastity's little brother, becomes a vampire as well but he's not nearly as nice as she is.
  • Career-Ending Injury: Chastity was a would-be Olympic gymnast when she broke her leg in a way that could never heal again (without vampirism).
  • Crisis Crossover:
    • Hack/Slash versus Chaos has Chastity try to stop Cassie Hack from destroying all undead or resurrected beings in the world.
    • Red Sonja: Age of Chaos has Chastity team up with Red Sonja to prevent Kulan Gath's magic necklace from destroying the world.
  • Feminist Fantasy: Chastity in Chastity volume 2 leads a group of women against a bunch of human traffickers and turns them into half-vampires.
  • Lighter and Softer: The Dynamite Entertainment reboot of the character is far less violent and nihilistic, even though Chastity remains largely unchanged herself.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: In the Dynamite Reboot, Alyce Stonecliff is a stand-in for Stephanie Meyers. She's secretly a vampire.
  • Stage Mom: Chastity's mother in the reboot was an Olympic figure skater who tried to turn her into one before switching to gymnastics.
  • Slavery Is a Special Kind of Evil: Chastity deals with an organization called the Zoo that trafficks young women to be sex slaves or food for werewolves.
