Main Characters
Frisk
The latest human to fall into the underground.
- Ambiguous Gender: Just like its source material. Though in The Leave Option in the Pacifist Run. Frisk is refered to as a little boy by a kidnapper.
- Big "NO!": When Sans tells them that they will never be able to finish the fight due to Sans never taking his turn.
- Comical Angry Face: It's Sr. Pelo, what else did you expect?
- Humiliation Conga: Has one in the Genocide ending.
- Little "No": Has 2 of these before their Big "NO!" for the reasons mentioned above.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When Toriel asks if they'd like to say goodbye to everyone before leaving the Underground, Frisk high-tails it to the surface instead.
- Slasher Smile: Sports a few. One when chasing Flowey with a knife, the other when trying to kill Sans in his sleep.
Flowey
A small, golden flower with a knack for murder
- Character Catchphrase: "Too bad!"
- Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: When he monologues to Frisk in the Genocide Ending, he states that neither of them would hesitate to kill the other if they got in their way. While standing in Frisk's way. His first words after he fully realizes this are "Oh, shit...".
- Foul Flower: His original counterpart is the provider of the page image.
Sans
A lazy, pun-making skeleton who fights Frisk at the end of the Genocide Route
- A Handful for an Eye: Throws pocket sand into Frisk's eyes as an attack.
- Ascended Extra: From a minor character in the Pacifist video to the main (hero) antagonist of the Genocide video
- Calling Your Attacks: Sans calls his last volley of attacks the "Sans Dance"... at the top of his lungs.
- Hero Antagonist: Like in Undertale, he's the final obstacle Frisk faces in the Genocide Route, and is giving it his all to stop Frisk from destroying everything.
- Megaton Punch: His first attack against Frisk.
- Suddenly Shouting: When he announces the SANS DANCE, he does so at the top of his lungs.
Minor Characters
Asgore
- Butt-Monkey: Asgore is treated as this in All Three Videos/Runs. The Pacifist run is the inly one where he lives, but even then, he's still punched in the face after Toriel blames him for "touching the child".
- Out of Focus: He shows up in all three Underpants videos like Flowey or Frisk, unlike those two, he doesn't really get a lot of focus, he's the Disc-One Final Boss in the Neutral video, gets killed in one stab in the Genocide run (before Flowey stabs him a few more times to off him for good), and the one video he lives, the Pacifist run, he's essentially treated more of a Butt-Monkey (at least he isn't killed).
Toriel
- Jerkass to One: Her hatred for Asgore is more pronounced in Underpants, but otherwise, she's rather cordial.
- Mama Bear: Just like her canon counterpart. but Played for Laughs.
Papyrus
- Memetic Mutation: His sounding like Waluigi makes him become this. It's funny as all hell.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Just like canon, he's this in the Pacifist run, where he essentially dooms monsters with the help of a "tiny flower".
Undyne
- The Voiceless: Except for one Scream in the Pacifist run, she doesn't have a speaking line.
Alphys
- Oh, Crap!: When Papyrus mentions he got help getting the main 6 monsters together by a "tiny flower".
- Otaku: The only thing that gets her out of a brainwashed mess from Asriel's shenanigans in the Pacifist run is Frisk telling her that anime is real.
Other Characters
Sr. Pelo
The animator of the series who shows his reaction to the events of the game.
- Audience Surrogate: Serves as this for first-time players of Undertale.
- Freak Out: When he unlocks Chara's dialogue at the end of a Genocide, he feels like he's stuck with a psychopath.
Chara
- Big "SHUT UP!": During Sr. Pelo's freakout they yell this just to get him to shut it. It works.
- Creepy Child: Shows up to destroy the world of the game, and causes Sr. Pelo to freak out completely.
- The Ghost: Asriel mentions them once in the Pacifist Run Video, but they don't show up at all.
- Knight of Cerebus: Outside of the Big "SHUT UP!" they yell to Pelo and them mercilessly smack the Do Not option in the "do you want to destroy the world?" segment, they are definitely played seriously & terrifyingly in the Genocide Run video.
W. D. Gaster
- Freak Lab Accident: Played for Drama (and horror).
- Knight of Cerebus: Except for the "flip off" part, the video 17 is mostly terrifying... and so is Gaster.
- Papa Wolf: Gaster fell into the Determination extraction machine while trying to protect Sans and Papyrus, the former unconsciously holding the latter (who was still a baby) under the machine.
- Voice of the Legion: After the accident.
SANESSS
A crudely drawn version of Sans akin to characters like Mokey and Wahoo. Uses Tom Blasters.
- Catchphrase: WANNA HAVE A BAD TOM?
- Leit Motif: Mogolovonio, Pelo's vocal dub on Megalovania.
- Oddball Doppelgänger: Due to being a crudely drawn counterpart of Sans, he's definitely this.
- Stylistic Suck: Given the fact he's a poorly drawn Sans that uses blasters that use Tom's face, this is an obvious given.
