    In General
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: Each god is the embodiment of their respective order, as they have the ability to manipulate it via their divine powers.
  • Bargain with Heaven: It is stated that gods keep their promises with mortals if they have agreed to their terms. Since gods are beings of order, they cannot go against their nature.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Most gods do not grasp the mortal concepts of good and evil, as their sense of morality boils down to if the world continues to function in order while anything that causes a disruption to order is an abberation that must be destroyed.
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Gods are living embodiments of order that govern the natural laws of the world. If a god would be truly killed, their death would lead to a disruption of order and greatly impact the world in a negative way.
  • Cosmic Keystone: The Azure Sky of the Gods itself is a giant cosmic keystone, as it is the divine domain of the gods. If it were to be destroyed, the world would collapse.
  • Dimension Lord: Each god has their own dimension to rule over, as they become much stronger when they are inside of it.
  • Divine Ranks: While there are a lot of divine beings in the world, there is a bit of a hierarchy among them:
    • Divine Beasts: They are animal-like divine monsters that serve the gods, as it is shown that they are subservient to the gods and follow their commands. They are considered low on the divine hierarchy, being nothing more then numerous troops for a god to order around. Despite this, they possess above average power compared to mortal species, requiring skilled warriors such as those from the Mythical Age to defeat.
    • Keepers: Also known as Guardian Gods, are lesser gods that exist to protect order or the designated god they are assigned to. Like true Gods, they possess unique powers based on the order they protect. They are considered middle-tier divine beings, as while they are more powerful then divine beasts and far superior to most mortals, they can be beaten by upper-ranked Mythical Age warriors with moderate difficulty. Unlike true Gods, their deaths do not impact the stability of the world and there are multiple versions of the same Guardian God.
    • Gods: Also known as True Gods, are the gods whose job is to govern the order and law of the world. Each of them has influence over their respective order, which they can command via their divine power. The are highest ranked divine beings in the world and the most important, as if any one them were to truly due, the world would begin to collapse. Due to their vast power, only the most powerful beings in the world can challenge them in a straight-up fight and have a chance of victory.
  • God's Hands Are Tied: Although most gods are neutral, there are some benevolent gods among them. However, even they cannot take action to aid mortals as doing so via their divine power would distort order, thus inflicting the consequences of that distortion upon the world and mortals or due to being shackled by order itself.
  • God Is Neutral: Gods usually do not take sides in the affairs of mortals, as they are more concerned with maintaining order. However, due to the fact that Anos was actively going against the gods, made them drop their neutrality and aid humanity in their fight against the demons.
  • Home of the Gods: The Azure Sky of the Gods is the divine domain of the gods. It consists of various domains, with the four largest domains being referred to as the Fundamental Circle Garden.
  • Order Versus Chaos: The gods' philosophy centers around protecting and maintaining order, as they see themselves as the embodiments and guides to order, which preserves the integrity and stability of the world. In contrast, anything that opposes them and order is chaotic and must be destroyed for the stability of the world.
  • Physical God: All of the gods possess vast power and are regarded as the strongest beings in the world. Only extremely powerful beings like Anos and some elite demons from the Mythical Age, Hero Kanon and Great Spirit Reno could pose a threat to them.
  • Unfeeling Heavens: Most gods are unfeeling beings, who do not have emotions as it was even stated that they weren't even truly alive.

Main Gods

Milita

Goddess of Creation

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vol9_militia.png

The goddess that governs the order of creation. She is the god that created the world, and one of Anos' few godly allies.

  • All-Loving Hero: Militia is considered to be the most benevolent god that exists, as she loved the world more then anyone else and didn't harbour hatred towards anyone, with her being the only god that didn't want to exterminate the demon race.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Due to possessing emotions as well as her fondness of mortals, she developed a negative reputation among some gods, who thought that she prioritised mortals over order.
  • Badass Pacifist: While Militia is a kind and peaceful goddess who disliked fighting, she is still one of the most powerful gods in the world.
  • Batman Gambit: Some of her contingency plans rely on Anos performing the actions she had indirectly lead him to by using her own knowledge of his personality and capabilities in order to have him realize her plans in her place.
  • Big Good: Militia is one of the foremost individuals who strived to end the Great War and bring true peace to the world. In fact, Anos himself considers her this, as she had hoped to realize this wish for millions of years but was incapable of accomplishing it by herself due to being bound by order.
  • Can't Live Without You: Militia and her twin sister Abernyu are bound together by order, so if one of them dies, the other will die too.
  • The Chessmaster: A rare benelovent version. After the Great War, Militia initiated several plans to make the world more peaceful, as she had hoped that after their realization the world could find true peace and harmony.
    • She interfered with Nosgalia's creation of Eleonore as she used her powers to make sure Eleonore would be born without any hatred towards demons and modified her to be able to combine her powers together with Ennesuone to create new life. Militia knew that Anos would eventually save her and that she would become his companion, so her power would be at his disposal.
    • She created a living order called Ennesuone, which would be able to create new life that isn't bound by the order of the gods. However, while she wasn't capable of fully creating Ennesuone by herself, she left Anos with all of the requirements for him to be able to succeed in creating her.
    • She created the Underground World to allow Dragonewts to flourish. After she became aware of the Selection Judgement and the tragedy it inflicted upon mortals, she intended to stop it by sealing the god that governed over it.
    • She was even factor her own death into her plans, as after Arcana had killed her, she allowed the newly-appointed god to steal her divine power, as Anos would take interest in her due to believing her to be Militia, as her divine power could be used to aid him even after her own death.
    • All of this was building towards the end result of her grand plan: to recreate the world that was slowly dying into a new world that would not die and wouldn't be dominated by the cold order of the gods but replaced with a more kinder order.
  • God's Hands Are Tied: Due to her nature as a god, Militia was forced not to use her divine power to help mortals or risk distorting the order of creation, as the aftereffects of that would spill onto the world and negatively impact mortals that lived in the world.
  • God Is Good: Militia is considered the most benevolent and kindest of the gods, to the point of managing to win over Anos, who at that point was a Nay-Theist due to his own experience with the gods.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: She wears a white dress with silverish highlights, which signifies her divine nature.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: She was this with her best friend, the Goddess of Birth Wenzel, who she befriended in the Azure Sky due to both having similar orders and being one of the few gods to have emotions.
  • Lunacy: Her divine power is Artiertonoa, the Moon of Creation; which appears during the Month of Creation to recreate the lives that are destroyed and transform them into new lives, thus continuing the cycle of destruction and creation.
  • The Omniscient: Due to being the creator of the world, her divine eyes allow her to perceive anything that was happening in the world, which also allowed her to see all of the suffering that mortals went through.
  • Only Friend: Anos considers her his only friend among the gods, as her desire for a peaceful world was very comforting to him, who had originally perceived the gods to be selfish and only concerned about order.
  • The Maker: She is the maker and creator of the world, being the first god that existed.
  • The Stoic: She is shown to be a very stoic and non-emotive. But in fact, she is one of the few gods that possesses emotions at all.
  • The Power of Creation: Militia's main power was her ability to use her divine power over the order of creation, thus granting her the ability to create anything she desires. She is also a master creation magic user, far surpassing Anos despite his own great mastery of magic.
  • Token Good Teammate: Unlike most gods that were ultimately unconcerned with the fate of mortals, Militia showcased great empathy towards them and strove to find a way to balance her duty to order while ensuring that mortals could live peaceful lives. She is also the only god that didn't participate in the Great War but strove to find a way to end it peacefully.
  • Two Beings, One Body: She shares this dynamic with her twin sister Abernyu, as when one was active the other would be dormant until their respective month was over.

    Abernyu

Abernyu

Goddess of Destruction

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vol9_avernyu.jpg

The goddess that governs the order of destruction. She is the god whose existence is responsible for all of the death and destruction in the world.

  • Afraid of Their Own Strength: She is fearful of her own power due to the fact that its destructive capabilities destroyed anyone who she looked at.
  • Blessed with Suck: She is an immortal and powerful goddess, but her powers have left her isolated from ever meeting anyone and enjoying the world, as her power could even potentially destroy the world.
  • Can't Live Without You: Abernyu and her twin sister Militia are bound together by order, so if one of them dies, the other will die too.
  • Destroyer Deity: She is Goddess of Destruction, whose role it is to continuously destroy living beings to continue the cycle of creation and destruction. She is noted to be one of the most important gods in the world, as her sealing by Anos disturbed order to a great extent.
  • Don't Fear the Reaper: Despite being one of the most powerful gods and the god that was responsible for all of the destruction in the world, she herself isn't malevolent and is quite a nice and affable woman.
  • The Dreaded: Despite not intending to, she was this to the mortals of the Mythical Age, as they were terrified of the Sun of Destruction due to its great power and its power to destroy anything that she gazed at.
  • First Kiss: Anos gives his and takes her first kiss upon meeting her to use a special spell so she could begin to control her power.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She is a golden haired goddess and one of the few benevolent gods in the world.
  • How Do I Shot Web?: Much to her frustration, she was fundamentally incapable of controlling her power, as she involuntary destroyed anything she gazed at. Her training with Anos helped her gain a bit of control over her power, but it was noted that she was only capable of limiting the scope of what she destroyed to a degree as she was incapable of stopping destroying no matter how much she trained and desired.
  • Love at First Sight: She fell in Anos when she first saw him. Justified, nearly anyone else would have been destroyed the moment she gazed upon them with her divine eyes.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: She greatly resents her role as the destroyer, as she longs to be free of the duty that order imposed on her.
  • In Love with Love: After Abernyu proclaims her love for Anos, he accuses her of being in love with love due to the fact that she was slowly awakening her emotions. She concedes that he might be correct but that for the moment, it was enough.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Her mere existence caused the majority of death and destruction in the world. To put into perspective how powerful she is, that Anos needed to commission the creation of a special craft that could fly though her domain; which destroys everything that tries to fly through it, piloted and managed by some of his strongest subordinates and had to combine his power with Shin's blade form just to open up the Sun of Destruction, so he could reach her in perfect condition. And even then, Anos had to expend a significant amount of magic power to resist her order's attempt to destroy him.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: She voluntarily allows Anos to seal her inside of his castle Delsgade to remove the order of destruction from the world and keep mortal from being truly destroyed. However, this is partly averted as Anos also uses Venuzdonoa to sever Aberyu's consciousness from Delsgade to allow her to reincarnate as a demon.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: She is shown to be utterly smitten with Anos after first meeting him, and promised to keep loving him even after she would reincarnate and be able to experience love like a normal person.
  • The Power of the Sun: Her divine power is Sarjieldenav, the Sun of Destruction; which appears during the Month of Destruction to destroy the lives that are meant to be destroyed as that will create the space for new life to be born, thus continuing the cycle of destruction and creation.
  • Tsundere: After Anos initially apologizes for stealing her first kiss in order to use the special spell in order to help her control her power, she tries to pass it off as stating that is kiss is like being bitten by a dog to the gods. Anos internally notes that that his spell wouldn't have activated if she didn't care about the kiss.
  • Two Beings, One Body: She shares this dynamic with her twin sister Militia, as when one was active the other would be dormant until their respective month was over.
