Humans

     Charolette (Charlie) Emily Rosebury
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/charlie_design_by_necromulus_dcbg3lp.png
Charlie as drawn by Necromulus
Ever since the events of the original novel, Charlie has been spending the preceding time attempting to overcome the trauma of her past. But her attempts at a quiet, peaceful life keep being interrupted by the vengeful ghosts of her family's past.

  • Adaptation Name Change: Her last name here is Rosebury instead of Emily. Though it remains as her middle name.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: In The Twisted Ones, Charlie was going down a self-destructive route that would eventually end in her demise. In this AU, she's taken the steps to try and mentally better herself although it hasn't been completely successful
  • Apathetic Clerk: At her job at Saviors Savers as she's only taken the job to have something to do besides sitting around at home.
  • Badass Adorable:
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Starts one with John in Moving Forward.
  • Cooldown Hug: Occasionally needs one of these whenever she loses her temper or just gets overwhelmed with the situation around her.
  • Daddy's Girl: Was this when she was a lot younger, but the things that she's discovered about her father's legacy had put a serious strain on her perception of him.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Being the daughter of one of the founders of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria naturally means that Charlie hasn't had an easy time going about her life. Especially given her self-defense slaying of her father's business partner, an act that she's found herself feeling guilty over despite his actions.
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": An easy way to trigger Charlie's Berserk Button is to continuously refer to her by her real name as opposed to her preferred nickname.
  • I Am Not My Father: Charlie is adamant about avoiding the same sort of fate that befell Henry.
  • I Did What I Had to Do: She feels guilty for having taken William's life, she concluded that it was an unfortunate necessity. That was of course, before he rose again as Springtrap. His subsequent actions caused her to doubt her previous judgment.
  • Missing Mom: Charlie's mother abandoned the family shortly after Sammy's murder and despite attempts at reconciliation, Charlie has never been able to form a solid relationship with her.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: Is comfortable around those that she's very close to, but has a hard time opening up to those she's only recently met.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: She is not William Afton's first victim like in the original novels.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Played with. Charlie doesn't fall into either Tomboy or Girly Girl Categories in either personality or appearance. Averting her Like Father, Like Son tendencies from The Twisted Ones.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Was much more upbeat and chipper as a little girl. She is slowly beginning to regain some of that, but only lets it out around those she trusts.

     John Barnett
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/john__re_design_by_necromulus_dce7msj_6.png
John as drawn by Necromulus
Charlie's best friend, now upgraded to boyfriend shortly after the events of the original novel. A writer by passion, he's taken up college classes in Brookhaven New York to hone his creative skills. But like with Charlie, the events surrounding the opening of a new Freddy Fazbear's has dragged him into the adventure as well.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: In all his official art appearances, John is drawn as a brunette. In the art for this AU, he's a blond.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: In the original book, John was The Stoic leader type with a few character moments that indicated something deeper, and then in Five Nights at Freddy's: The Twisted Ones he Took a Level in Jerkass. In this story, he's dropped his stoic traits and leaned more into his true personality.
  • Beneath the Mask: John's The Stoic tendencies in "The Silver Eyes" are explained in "Moving Foward as having been a cover that he constructed to please his overbearing father.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Was always attracted to Charlie as a child and those feelings didn't go away despite their years apart. Becomes a coupe with her in "Moving Forward."
  • I Am Not My Father: John's father was unsupportive of his writing aspirations and his subsequent attempts to "man up" his son only drove him to get as far away as possible. To the point that John considers being compared to his father in any way to be an insult.
  • Official Couple: With Charlie.
  • Understanding Boyfriend: Although hesitant to get involved with the things happening inside the new Freddy's, John is more than willing to go along with it all to help put Charlie's mind at ease.

     Carlton Burke
The son of Hurricane's chief of police, Carlton always had a knack for rebelling against the rules put in place by his parents without caring all too much for the consequences. After his near-death at the hands of Dave Miller, he's become a lot more reserved with a much sharper sense of humor.
  • A Boy and His X: Golden Freddy: AKA Micheal Brooks can be seen as his companion throughout the events of the story.
  • Broken Bird: The events of Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes have left Carlton a shell of his former self and thus a lot more cynical and world-weary.
  • Break the Cutie: His kidnapping at William's hands and the revelation about just what happened to his friend Michael broke something in Carlton that's left him more bitter towards the world than ever before.
  • Cop/Criminal Family: Carlton is deadset on being the opposite of his father as much as he possibly can without going over the edge into villainy.
  • Cop Hater: His relationship with Clay has lead to Carlton becoming soured towards almost all law enforcement.
  • The Lost Lenore: Had a crush on Micheal back when they were kids that never fully went away.
  • The Snark Knight: Almost every other line from Carlton is some sort of quip or sarcastic remark.

     Jessica
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jessica_6.jpg
Jessica by Necromulus
One of Charlie's best friends when they were kids, Jessica has since grown into the backbone of her re-kindled friend group after the events of The Silver Eyes. She is studying paleontology at a college located in New York City. Though much like her other friends, the near-tragic events that took place at the original Freddy's have scarred her psyche more than she wants to admit.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Don't let her girly attributes fool you. If push comes to shove, Jessica is unafraid to stand up to anyone that wants to give her friends crap.
  • Childhood Friends: Is this with Charlie, John, and the others.
  • Girly Girl: Frequently toes the line between this and Tomboy with a Girly Streak.
  • Race Lift: In the graphic novelization and most canon art depictions, Jessica is presented as a caucasian. In this AU however, she is an African American.
  • Shipper on Deck: Was this for Charlie and John after the events of the original novel. The fact that she succeeded in this endeavor is a source of personal pride.
  • The Fashionista: Although not vain by any stretch of the means, Jessica has an eye for fashion and is the one that most people would go to if she needed an opinion on an outfit.

     Rick Taylor
Originally Introduced in: Five Nights at Freddy's. First Novelverse appearance in The Ghosts of Our Fathers

  • Ascended Extra: Was only a voice in the original games, here has a name and a face.
  • Mythology Gag: Says "Hello, hello!" into the microphone at the grand opening of the new Freddy's.
  • Obliviously Evil: Rick had no idea what he was unleashing when he opened the new Freddy's, he just wanted to bring the joy of Freddy's to a new generation of children.

     Arty
One of Charlie's co-workers at Jeremy Fitzgerald's store and later an employee at that be Freddy's. Is obsessed with the idea that he can sweep Charlie off her feet and into his arms.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: While the original Twisted Ones Arty wasn't the nicest person, he wasn't particularly malicious. But this version of Arty makes him into an Abhorrent Admirer with delusions of grandeur.
  • Malicious Misnaming: Insists on calling Charlie by her full name of Charlotte because he finds it prettier than her desired nickname.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Almost became this until both Charlie and Jeremy put their feet down and refused to allow him to continue with his bullcrap.

Animatronics

     Freddy Fazbear.
Freddy is one of four animatronics that Charlie's father Henry constructed back in the early '80s for his now-closed restaurant. Built as an extension of Henry's original "Fredbear" character, Freddy is the cheery-looking lead member of the band. Current company owner Rick Taylor hopes to one day restore the old band to its former glory, unaware of the dark secret that lurks behind the faded brown fur.

     Bonnie the Bunny.
     Chica the Chicken.
     Foxy the Pirate Fox.
  • Hook Hand: Foxy's most defining feature next to his eyepatch.
  • The Berserker: Is the most bloodthirsty of all the animatronics and known to attack anyone he perceives as a threat.
     Springtrap
Originally Introduced in: Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes as a non possessed suit. Gains sentience in The Ghosts of Our Fathers

When Charlie triggered the Spring-Bonnie suit's spring-lock mechanisms and killed William Afton, she assumed that was the end of the man who ruined her childhood. But in reality, she'd only created a monster born from the broken remains of Afton's soul and fused together with the suit that serves as his tomb.

  • Adaptation Name Change: Has yet to be called Springtrap in the story and most likely never will be.
  • Artificial Zombie: Subverted as, by all indications, there's little to nothing left of William Afton inside of the animatronic aside from a few bits of bone that come out of his head when Arty attacks him.
  • Berserk Button: Although it can't feel pain in the same way as a normal human, harming Springtrap in any way is the fastest path to getting on his bad side.
  • Big Bad: Although he's yet to take center stage like his canonical counterpart, Springtrap's actions are what drive the overall narrative.
  • Decomposite Character: Although he contains the soul of William Afton as per both the games and books, Springtrap lacks any trace of Afton's personality. Often acting more akin to an intelligent animal than a human being in a suit.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: If provoked Springtrap will fly into an almost uncontrollable rage. something that Arty and later Charlie discovered the hard way.
  • Haunted Technology: Par for the course with Springtrap.
  • It Can Think: Although he lack's the full power of Afton's mind, this version of Springtrap is capable of figuring out how to stay alive in his current situation.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: Springtrap's eyes are said to be colored an almost cartoonish white and black unlike his green-yellow irises from the game.
  • Slasher Smile: One of the most prominent features of the Spring-Bonnie costume is its infamous grin.
  • Soul Fragment: Has only a few noticeable bits of Afton's memory and personality.
  • Soul Jar: Effectively acts as this for William Afton's soul, though the soul is the only thing he actually shares in common with the now-deceased serial killer.

     The Puppet.
A mysterious animatronic that was found hidden amongst the spare suits in the original Freddy's location that Charlie finds herself strangely attracted to. Although it doesn't move like the others, it seems to have a mind of its own.

  • Ghostly Goals: Wants to be free just like the other souls, and it doesn't care how it achieves that goal.
  • Go Madfromthe Isolation: Spent a little under fifteen years stuck inside its gift box, and that time alone hasn't done much good to it.
  • Vengeful Ghost: The Puppet was locked in a box inside Henry's office when the Pizzeria was abandoned. It's hard not to see why it's so pissed off.
