Heroine
Akira Asagi

The main heroine. She is the commander and teacher of the SRX unit.- All-Loving Hero: She wants both worlds to survive.
- Amnesiac Hero: She has been the instructor of all six SRX units, but she doesn't remember because her memory is altered each time.
- Commanding Coolness: She is the commander of the 6th SRX unit. And all of the five units before that.
- Death Is Cheap: Once the blue world fails to win the war, she is resurrected over and over again to serve as the instructor of the Riders.
- Death Seeker: When Yousuke first finds her, due to the events of the 5th war, she says she wants to die already, and it is hinted that she also wished for this in the previous wars. However, in the climax, she declares she no longer wants to die and instead wants to fight for the salvation of both worlds.
- Sci-Fi Bob Haircut: Has this hairstyle. Though previously, she had five different hairstyles.
- Teen Genius: She skipped grades and graduated from university at 15.
- Transferable Memory: In the anime, her memories were transferred into Hako.

Yousuke Christoph Komae

The member of SRX with the highest score, a battle genius.- But Not Too Foreign: He is half-German, half-Japanese.
- The Lancer: To Takt.
- Parental Abandonment: His parents died when he was young.
- Real Men Wear Pink: His hobby is cooking and he is quite good at it.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Takt's blue.
- The Stoic: Downplayed. He tries to act like one but he hides a great passion deep inside.
Takt Kirisawa

The leader of the SRX team.- The Ace
- Big Bad: Turns out to be the leader of the Nightfly o Notes.
- Does Not Like Spam: He hates shiitake mushrooms.
- Friendly Rival: He is Yousuke's friend but he also sees him as a rival.
- Height Angst: He is worried about about his height so he wears high-heeled boots to make him seem taller.
- Heroic Sacrifice: He asks Akira to shoot him as he restrains Grunbach so that the world can be saved.
- Long-Haired Pretty Boy: His hair reaches his mid back.
- The Leader: He is the levelheaded leader of the team.
- The Perfectionist: A very serious one.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Yousuke's red.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: He just wants Akira to choose a world so that she can be free of her suffering and so that the Riders don't have to fight anymore.
Yuuji Tsuga

The oldest member of the SRX team, and only one with actual combat experience.- Beware the Nice Ones: He generally an optimistic and kind person, but he's scary when he snaps.
- Big Brother Mentor: He acts like an older brother to the all the younger members of the team and always looks after them.
- The Big Guy: He's the tallest member of the group.
Hiro Kurama

The youngest member of the SRX team. Kazuki Suzuki

A member of the SRX team that everybody considers to be eccentric.- Cloudcuckoolander: Downplayed.
- Gratuitous English: He often sprinkles random English into his sentences.
- Suddenly Fluent in Gibberish: Ge is able to understand what Rickenbacker is saying even though the others can't.
Hijiri Mutsuki

A supplemental member who transfers in to the SRX team.- Ambiguously Brown: He is tan.
- Action Survivor: He is the only survivor of the 5th SRX team.
- Sixth Ranger: The sixth member of the team.

Kazuki's Substance partner.- The Unintelligible: He will only make strange noises when he tries to communicate so no one (except Kazuki) can understand him.

Hijiri's Substance partner and the first Substance that appeared in the Blue World.- The Quiet One: He doesn't talk much.

Soichirou Amakasu

Akira's second in command.- The Engineer: In the game, he performs maintenance on the Substances.
- Number Two: He is the second in command of the unit since he assists Akira.
Hako Salome Sakura

An engineer sent from Tokyo LAG to help out at Ryukyu LAG. Only appears in the anime adaptation.- The Engineer: In the anime, she performs maintenance on the Substances.
- Loss of Identity: She goes through a breakdown after finding out that she and Akira have the same memories, leading her to question her existence.
- Teen Genius: According to reports, she submitted an extraordinary paper that got the attention of Tokyo LAG, leading to her working for them. Turns out that report never existed. But since she performs maintenance on the Substances and she is essentially Akira, she is also a teen genius..
- Transferable Memory: She has Akira's memories.
