Billy Kimura
Billy Kimura
Voiced by: Akeno Watanabe (Japanese), Connor Heaton (English)
- Child Prodigy: Billy and Penny both graduated from prestigious colleges when normal kids their ages would have been in middle school.
- Friendly Rivalry: He and Penny have this, each calling the other a worthy rival.
- Gadgeteer Genius: He's an inventor.
- Insufferable Genius: Shows shades of this in episode one, but it quickly wears away for the most part.
- Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: When he decides to send five retired astronauts up to the Invincible to rescue his father, and he ignores Penny's warning the Baguans will simply shoot the rocket down as soon as it launches.
- Smart People Wear Glasses
Penny Carter
Penny Carter
Voiced by: Mitsuki Saiga (Japanese), Clint Bickham (English)
- Cassandra Truth: Penny warns Billy that sending a rescue rocket into space will only alert the Baguans. He gets shut down quickly, and mere minutes later...
- Child Prodigy: Billy and Penny both graduated from prestigious colleges when normal kids their ages would have been in middle school.
- Distressed Dude: He gets abducted by the Baguans and their allies more than once.
- Dumb Blonde: Inverted. He's a Child Prodigy and a scientist.
- Evil-Detecting Dog: Washington, Penny's trusted sidekick.
- Friendly Rivalry: He and Billy have this, each calling the other a worthy rival.
- Gender-Blender Name: Penny generally isn't a name given to guys.
- Insufferable Genius: Shows shades of this in episode one, but it quickly wears away for the most part.
- Offing the Offspring: Almost happens to him. While under the Baguans' mind control, his mother nearly stabs him while he's trying to save her life. Subverted in that she doesn't actually go through with it thanks to James stepping in to stop her.
- Parental Abandonment: He's an orphan.

- Punny Name: Hehe, Brest.
- Smart People Wear Glasses
Captain Clayton
Captain Clayton
Voiced by: Masaru Ikeda (Japanese), Marty Fleck (English)
- Alliterative Name: Captain Clayton. Albeit Captain probably isn't his real first name.

- Heroic Sacrifice: He dies during the final battle in order to buy the heroes enough time to enact their plan.

Emely
Emely
Voiced by: Sayaka Ohara (Japanese), Shannon Emerick (English)
- Action Girl: The only fighters who are stronger than her were given superhuman strength by the Baguans.
- Cool Car: Emely has two - her main one is a pink, Cadillac-inspired Flying Car with weapons, including a four-pronged armor piercing drill. There's also a decidedly less cool red one she uses in episode 2.
Horner
James
James
Voiced by: Yuji Ueda (Japanese), Gray Haddock (English)
- Ace Pilot: This was what got him abducted by aliens.
- Phlebotinum Rebel: He was abducted by and turned into a a living weapon by the Baguans, but he managed to escape before he could go through the process that would have taken away his personality and free will.
Lotta Brest
Lotta Brest
Voiced by: Ryō Hirohashi (Japanese), Morgan Starr (English)
- Girlish Pigtails
- Tagalong Kid: You'd figure that Penny and Billy would fall into this category, but they fit better in the Kid Hero area. The title of the series' Tagalong Kid goes to the one and only, Lotta Breast, that boarders on The Load but barely manages to avoid it.
- Youthful Freckles
Margaret H. Steamson
Margaret H. Steamson
Voiced by: Tsugumi Higasayama (Japanese), Laurie Gallardo (English)
- Ambiguously Brown: She's tan and has dark hair. This appears to have been an arbitrary choice on her father's part, as he created her.
- Artificial Human: Her father didn't sire her, he created her. She's the original Baguan.
- But Now I Must Go: We last see her flying off into space with the Baguans who survived being given Element X but were de-aged to infants, presumably to restart their society.
- Identical Stranger: She bears an uncanny resemblance to the hologram girl the Baguans use to communicate with humans.

- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: He probably didn't predict that the race of people he created would evolve into insect creatures, eventually have their bodies cease functioning properly, become a fascist empire, and invade earth in search of the one thing that could save them.
Tony Kimura
Tony Kimura
Voiced by: Minoru Inaba (Japanese), Bill Wise (English)
- Expy: Can be seen as one of Tony Stark or his father. Since both characters share such a striking resemblance and this Tony never puts on a suit of armor, it's hard to tell.
