    Sol

Sol/The Sun

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/8_6.png
Sex: Male
Chronological Age: Approx. 4.6 Billion Years
Physical Age: Young adult
Birthday: Unknown
Hair Colour: Light Yellow
Eye Colour: Yellow
Status: Alive

  • Beware the Nice Ones: He seldom gets actually mad, but when he does, it’s not a pretty sight.
  • Big Brother Mentor: Sees himself as this for the Solar System. After all, he is the center of the system and it’s his job to guide the planets around him. He also likes being called "big brother".
  • Bishie Sparkle: Whenever he appears, everything is covered in sparkling light. Even his dialogue boxes.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Sol thinks he's far more irresistible than he actually is.
  • The Ditz: Most of the time, he is a bit quirky and Innocently Insensitive.
  • Drama Queen: He is overly emotional and often overreacts to the situation, with lots of tears and sparkles.
  • The Dreaded: Feared by the sun-grazing comets as he could destroy them in a blink.
  • Expy: Initially resembled France, from the blond hair to the shining personality.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: Having the world revolves around you also means being the center of beating, snarking and else. Sol keeps coming back for more.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: When it comes to those he likes, he casually hugs, touches or/and has many physical contacts with them. It does make them a bit awkward and uncomfortable, but he means well.

Gliese 581

Gliese 581 (left) and the imaginative planet ‘Gliese 581g’

A cheerful red dwarf star from the Libra household who’s good friends with Sol and Kepler-22. He currently lives a more traditional lifestyle together with three planets (e, b & c).

He always tells the story about a mysterious being whom he suspects to be a ‘planet that’s like Earth’ who wanders around his place. He nicknamed them ‘g’.

  • Imaginary Friend: According to this, it turns out that the potentially habitable planets Gliese 581d and 581g doesn’t exist. They were said to be misinterpreted stellar activity data.
  • Older Than They Look: Gliese 581 may look small and young, but he’s older than Sol.

    Kepler- 22

Kepler-22

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/81353872_8f30_4ba9_8643_e4f570da9744.jpeg

Sol’s older cousin who resembles him but much cooler (literally and figuratively) and wears glasses. He has a habitable planet living with him who’s into surfing, called Kepler-22b. He lives in the Cygnus household.

     Bellatrix

Bellatrix (γ Orionis)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/89544dc6_fdca_4200_9984_88f1901739b3.png

The third brightest star in Orion. She’s a strong lady good at fighting. Rigel and Betelgeuse, who also belong to the Orion household, call her ‘big sister’.

  • Action Girl: Look at the way she mightily wields a sword. Do you want to mess with her with the risk of having you head cut off?
  • Cool Big Sis: To Rigel and Betelgeuse. Well, a big sis who can wield a sword is certainly amongst the coolest types of sisters.
  • Meaningful Name: Bellatrix means ‘Woman Warrior’.
  • Pirate Girl: She was once a navigator and like Rigel, she adopted pirate speech.

    Blue Straggler

Blue Straggler (Vampire Stars)

    Canopus

Canopus (α Carinae)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eb6f8801_5bf9_4e02_b638_2c9bac784aeb.jpeg

Been there, done that.

The brightest star #2 (in Earth’s eyes). Sirius A always teases him and call him ‘old man’ due to his old-fashioned personality and appearance. He’s close friends with Earth.

  • Always Someone Better: Sirius A likes to annoy him by telling him his only second in brightness and will always be in the bottom (visually). Actually, it’s the other way around. Even though Sirius appears brighter because living close to Earth, in reality, Canopus is brighter than him (literally and figuratively). He retorts this to Sirius when he gets on his nerves.
  • Older Than They Look: While he is known in some countries as an Old Man’s Star and Sirius calls him ‘old man’, he looks like a young adult at worst.
  • Cool Boat: He used to live on an enormous fancy ship called Argo Navis...which got divided into three, leaving him with only the ship’s lower body (Carina). Due to this, he’s quite thrifty lately.

    Alpha Centauri Trio

Alpha Centauri

Sirius Brother

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7acd0a35_6e2e_457c_b49c_6ac60104a29c.jpeg

Known as the Dog Star, they’re a pair of twins and Sol's relatives.

    Sirius A

Sirius A (α CMa A)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tenrou1_4065.png

The brightest looking star from Earth in the night sky. He is the more dominant between the two brothers. He’s very vain. Though he doesn’t show it much, he cares for his brother and he knows his past before B became a white dwarf star.

  • Affectionate Nickname: He calls Earth ‘E-chan’ to show his fondness for the planet because of the ‘Brightest Star’ thing they gave him.
  • Big Brother Worship: To VY Canis Majoris. Sirius looks up to him so much and calls him ‘big boss’.
  • Big Little Brother: Apparently he is a bit taller than Sirius B.
  • Bishie Sparkle: To go with the whole ‘Brightest Star’ thing.
  • Cool Shades: And why would he wears those orange shades, you ask? Because he might be blinded by his own ‘awesome brightness’.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Well, he is the Dog Star, so it’s would be appropriate for him to have some tiny fangs.
  • Large Ham: Vain and equally a huge show-off.

     Sirius B

Sirius B (α CMa B)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tenrou2_5875.png

The more serious among the two. He always watches for his brother’s safety. Because he worries too much, he frequently gets headaches.

He and Sirius A both grew up together. However, he grew faster and turned into a red giant. One day, everything stopped and he ‘died‘, then he became a white dwarf.

  • Extreme Doormat: His brother Sirius A walks all over him and Sirius B does nothing to stop him.
  • Fountain of Youth: Looks younger than before turning into a white dwarf because he had shed his ‘old selves’ (as well as his memories) in a planetary nebula.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: He has no memory before he became a white dwarf, his remembrance of his past just stopped at his Red Giant stage and all his memories during his planetary nebula are vague.
  • Successful Sibling Syndrome: Because of Sirius A’s showy personality, Sirius B’s always been overshadowed by him. Usually, the only person who notices him is Earth, that’s why he likes the planet as well.

Summer Triangle (Altair, Deneb and Vega)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0351b32a_54f7_46b7_927f_aaf8b3bc5fae.png
From left to right: Altair, Vega, Deneb

    Altair

Altair

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/66300539_7359_4456_b2a8_59b3dd202add.jpeg

A serious guy from the Aquila household. He’s quite affectionate in a morose way towards Vega. He has three other brothers.

    Vega

Vega

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4b3020e3_8873_44a0_b8ab_95ad3a49b6bc.jpeg

One of the current brightest stars on Earth and the first star Earth took a photo of, other than Sol (astrophotography), he was also one of Earth’s previous ‘Northern Pole’ stars.

He has a slightly plump and soft stomach that Altair likes to poke (Due to its rapid rotation, the star has an equatorial bulge).

  • Dragged into Drag: Every Halloween on Earth or any time they could dress up, Vega is always forced to dress as ‘Orihime-sama’ of the Tanabata legend, much to his dismay.
  • Nice Guy: He is mild-mannered and kind.

    Deneb

Deneb

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/398a1c37_29eb_4852_8c20_beb0dc893140.jpeg

The tallest of the trio. He’s happy that he’s well known enough to be called just ‘Deneb’ in comparison to the other stars also called ‘Deneb’, which they had to add where they’re from.

He’s the one who suggests weird costume ideas every time they have to dress up.

Some well-known stars in Canis Major (minus Sirius)

     Wezen

Wezen (δ CMa)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ddd6a84e_56f5_4021_a771_c0deb0e85bd7.png

A tough one. Along with Aludra and Adhara, she’s a good archer. She’s not fond of men.

She’s slowly dying and will soon perish by supernova.

     Mirzam

Mirzam (β CMa)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/478b2b77_9875_48bf_91c3_bfe7c2fd88fa.png

A very serious soldier and particular with rules. Together with 5 other stars, he owns a ‘Market for Soldiers’.

  • Meaningful Name: His name came from a word that means ‘herald’. He’s the first to know when Sirius would return from a trip.

     Muliphen

Muliphen (γ Canis Majoris)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/8629134c_7956_4758_abef_61e4be3f8aeb.png

Not much is known about him because he doesn’t stand out as much as the other guys. Sirius thinks he’s weird.

He’s given a gamma designation even if there are some stars brighter than him.

     Adhara

Adhara (ε CMa)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/f90ee01e_88d6_4f8c_8a61_49e79396658d.png

A spunky girl. She’s been Earth’s ‘brightest star’ and a record holder for being the brightest seen during the last 5 million years. She’s a bit dangerous, being a great source of UV rays.

She has a twin sister.

     Furud

Furud (ζ CMa)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/d7accefa_6fd6_4a50_9e7f_239519f5907e.png

He’s very silent and creepy. He seems to have a strange ‘shadow’ (his binary companion) following him wherever he goes.

     Aludra

Aludra (η CMa)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/05c76982_1628_44b9_afcc_e5b9e045e3f6.png

A really good fighter and hunter like Wezen and Adhara. She’s still very young but she’s already in the last stages of her life.

She’ll collapse one day and go supernova within a few million years.

  • Meaningful Appearance: Her hair is a radiant light blue color, which is reflective of the real star's color.

    VY Canis Majoris

VY Canis Majoris

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ae812515_f648_4760_bd98_89ad62dbddc9.jpeg
In the background is Westerlund 1-26.

One of the biggest known living stars. Most stars are intimidated by him. He’s described as ‘cool’.

Due to his large unstable size, he doesn’t appear much at star gatherings.Member of the Big Stars Club.

  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Due to his large size, he's quite unstable. He might snap and go supernova. It’s possible he’ll leave behind a black hole person in his place.

is one of the largest known stars. He is a red hypergiant star like VY Canis Majoris and also one of his friends. He can be described as a burly, red-headed uncle wearing a theatrical swan-outfit (as a proud member of Cygnus). He’s a bit… fabulous, but, at the same time, manly.

He’s one of the active members of the Big Stars Club.
