WIP session for the character of Murphy & Mitzi.
Murphy
Description of his character bio:
- Badass Adorable:
- Born Unlucky: So unlucky, in fact, that lightning seems to seek out him specifically when he's not playing with cut wires, hiding under a lone tree or flying a kite during a storm, but just passing by the people who do exactly that and don't get struck.
- Butt-Monkey: Gets injured on a very regular basis.
- Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Has more common sense than Mitzi, and can sometimes be seen trying to discourage her from doing something even he finds stupid.
- Cool Board: He's hardly ever seen without his skateboard.
- Cute Little Fangs: Sports them since his redesign.
- Ear Notch: Gained a double notch on his left ear after his 2022 redesign. It's not clear how he got it in-universe, but he keeps making up cool-sounding explanations about it.
- Endearingly Dorky:
- Jerkass Has a Point:
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: For all the "bad boy" facade he puts up, Murphy is far from insensitive, especially when Mitzi's wellbeing is at stake.
- She's Not My Girlfriend: No matter how much Ship Tease happens between him and Mitzi, he'll vehemently deny any claims that they're an item.
- Sir Swears-a-Lot: At least by the standards of a series that doesn't use that much profanity (and censors all of it). Compared to Mitzi, who only cursed once, multiple comic strips and animations show him swearing, and in "Sound Styles", he listens to the profanity-filled "Check" by Zebrahead.
- His character profile, however, states that he only swears quietly to avoid getting in trouble.
- Small Name, Big Ego: When allowed to provide his own description for a news report, this is what he comes up with:"He is the storm, the reaper can't catch him, the devil fears his presence, he lives in all ladies' hearts."
- And just to inform, this is the same guy who keeps injuring himself while doing anything "cool", it's been established that girls aren't into him, and he died by attempting a kickflip.
Mitzi
Description of her character bio:
- Ambiguously Brown: She has dark skin in official humanization art while Murphy is white in the same art, but whether the difference in ethnicity applies to their canon counterparts as well is unclear.
- Break the Cutie: This happened to her in "Miss-Bee-Havior" when Vivian squished her pet bee Colin with her book

- Cloudcuckoolander: Some of her ideas get pretty bizarre. Case on point, one strip has her trap a bee under a glass hoping it'd pour honey over her toast.
- The Ditz: She is practically the embodiment of SpongeBob's jokes about squirrels. Although she can screw in a lightbulb on her own, she does it the wrong way.
- Genki Girl: She's pretty much joy personified.
- Girly Girl:
- Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak:
- Nice Girl: Seemingly has no mean bone in her body, though it doesn't stop her from hurting people with her stupidity.
- Sweet Tooth: Occasions when she's shown eating something that isn't sweets can be counted on one hand.
Zoe
Description of her character bio:Zoe is the very definition of peak performance. She's multi-talented, great at rollerblading, and looks cool doing it. Everyone is impressed with Zoe's skill, but she's humble about it. She's laid-back, approachable and wise, but sarcastic and sassy in her general attitude. Zoe seemingly knows all that goes on around New Lennium City. Everybody knows Zoe, and Zoe knows everything. She has many part-time jobs around town, usually at places like movie theaters, malls, and restaurants. She's always around somewhere, so naturally Murphy and Mitzi regularly ask for her assistance. She's essentially like their older sister: someone they can both relate to who can provide wisdom and a slightly more mature perspective on whatever problem they have. Whether Mitzi accidentally got gum stuck in her hair again, or Murphy is asking why girls don't think he's cool, Zoe always has some way that she can help them out.Even with her friendly advice, Zoe still playfully insults Murphy and Mitzi like an older sibling would. Though she doesn't always show it, she cares about their well-being. She'll support them whenever she can, but doesn't always stop them from doing self-destructive things. She can't be bothered.When Zoe isn't blading around the city or fixing Murphy and Mitzi's messes, she enjoys a calm evening reading. Just because she's totally rad doesn't mean she can't further enhance her base of knowledge.
- Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Serves as one to Murphy about as much as he does to Mitzi.
- Cool Big Sis: Viewed as such by the titular duo.
- New-Age Retro Hippie: Her parents are 70's era hippies, which explains her laid-back personality.
- New Job as the Plot Demands: Has so many day jobs that Murphy and Mitzi are pretty much guaranteed to run into her during most of their escapades.
- Retcon: Originally used to be 14, but her age was changed to 16 in the revised bio.
- Statuesque Stunner: She is pretty tall for a 16 year old.
- Teens Are Short: Initially played straight, but she became much taller after the 2022 redesign.
- Tomboy: A girl who's an expert in extreme sports.
