"The joy of slaughter, balancing the universe with blood and conquest. There is a beauty to it, but the novelty has worn thin. I fear that we will not accomplish our noble goal with our current method."

    Thanos

Thanos-842667

Birth Name: Dione

Known Aliases: Thanos, The Mad Titan

Species: Deviant Titan

Citizenship: Titanian (Formerly)

Original Reality: Earth-842667

Affiliation(s): Titanian Royal Family (Formerly), Black Order

Portrayed By: Josh Brolin

Appearances: Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime), Captain Marvel: Phalanx (Dream Sequence), Thanos Titan Rising

"Steve Rogers. Your comrades have fallen my the wayside. You stand alone, the only bastion preventing me from slaughtering your comrades inside and obtaining the Time Stone from them. Your efforts are valiant, but they will prove futile. It is as this universe's version of me said to that pest of a trickster god. Dread it, run from it, destiny still arrives all the same. You have my respect, Captain. Surrender, and you will have my mercy."

The Thanos of Earth-842667. Driven to accelerate his quest for the Infinity Stones by the arrival of the main universe's Corvus Glaive, Thanos quickly obtained all the Stones except Time, which had been sent away with the main universe's Wanda Maximoff. After four years of conquest and bloodshed in an attempt to balance the universe with only five Stones, Thanos was able to follow the Avengers to their universe in search of the Time Stone. Facing off with them in battle, Thanos finally fell thanks to Tony Stark's Snap. Faced with death, Thanos congratulated the Avengers on their victory before turning to dust, leaving his mark on the Avengers both physically and mentally.

  • Abusive Parents: Apparently averted. The Black Order of Earth-842667 are much closer to Thanos, especially Nebula and Gamora.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Thanos-842667 is far more Affably Evil than the main universe one, offering Steve Rogers a sincere chance to have a life of love and riches and being a less abusive father than the main universe one.
  • Affably Evil: He's polite and offers the Avengers of both his world and Earth-62338 a chance to surrender, but if his warnings are not headed, he will balance the population of the universe by violent force.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Titans are all purple, but Thanos is a much darker and unnatural shade.
  • Arch-Enemy: To the Earth-842667 Avengers/Resistance.
    • He can be seen as one to both the main universe Steve Rogers and Carol Danvers. He forces Steve to confront his demons, and forces Carol to relive trauma, with his shadow still looming over Danvers in Captain Marvel: Phalanx.
  • Ascended Extra: From the film Endgame. He maintains his status as a sort of Villain Protagonist, receiving two dedicated chapters that explore his past and his motivations.
  • Badass Boast: He has quite a few.
"If this is the best Earth has to offer, obtaining the Tesseract will take even less effort than I thought. I won't even need my army."
Thanos in Chapter 15 of Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime)
"Avengers, this is my endgame. I turn your leader, your glue, against you. Before this fight, you said you'd... What was the phrasing? Ah, yes. You said you'd kill me right this time. You'd kill me together. United you stood, and divided you'll fall."
Thanos in Chapter 19 of Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime)
"Midgard. Terra. Earth. This annoying little blue marble has been a thorn in my side for far too long. My destiny is fulfilled today"
Thanos in Chapter 20 of Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime)
  • Attack Backfire: His use of the Reality Stone in the final battle of Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime) backfires horribly when he confronts Vision, the only character on the battlefield that could destroy that stone.
  • Benevolent Boss: He's much nicer to his troops and his Black Order than his main universe counterpart.
  • Big Bad: Of Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime) in a sort of Villain Protagonist sense.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: This Thanos is evidently a better father to his children than the main universe one, given that none of them betrayed him. He sheds sincere tears of grief with Gamora over Nebula's death.
  • Call to Agriculture: Thanos states that this was his passion before he became a conqueror.
  • The Chessmaster: Thanos makes plans and contingencies and has the means to execute both.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Even more so than his main universe counterpart. He makes liberal use of the Infinity Stones to weaken, depower, and neutralize various foes, as well as employing various dirty tactics.
    • By the Hair: He grabs Carol Danvers by her's.
    • Kick Them While They're Down: He forces Carol Danvers to experience Maria Rambeau's death before twisting the knife by saying it's her fault because she was busy helping the Avengers.
  • Cool Starship: Sanctuary II.
  • Divide and Conquer: Seemingly his favoured tactic. He goes around during the final battle of Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime) taking out the Avengers' various powerhouses like Ghost Rider and Captain Marvel. It works very well, and he is only defeated when the Avengers face him together.
  • Dual Wielding: Thanos makes use of both his sword and his Infinity Gauntlet in battle.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Thanos' first big moment in Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime) is the massacre of the Dwarves of Nidavellir and the brutal murder of Eitri in order to obtain the Infinity Gauntlet.
  • Exact Words: He tells the Eitri of his world that he'll be willing to negotiate with him for the survival of the Dwarves after the Gauntlet is complete. Eitri misinterprets this as Thanos offering him mercy.
  • Face Death with Dignity: When Tony Stark deals the killing Snap to him, Thanos congratulates the Avengers on their victory over him.
  • Forgot About His Powers: Thoroughly Averted. Thanos uses the Infinity Stones in creative ways against the Avengers rather than just using the Power and Space Stones like his main universe counterpart.
  • Galactic Conqueror: He more or less conquers his home universe before setting his sights on all other realities.
  • Hero Killer: He has quite the body count, with Earth-842667's Minn-Erva, Carol Danvers, and Steve Rogers all dying by his hand.
  • It's Personal: Summed up best in a quote from Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime).
"Across every world I have conquered, I have met resistance. They've ranged in size and power, but all have fallen to me. In all my years of conquest, violence, slaughter, it was never personal. But this little blue marble you call Earth? In my reality, it cost me my goals and rendered the great my beloved daughter Gamora made invalid. She and I have both sought vengeance against your world. I have killed many of you before, and I look forward to having the chance to do so again."
  • The Juggernaut: Even more so than his main universe counterpart. He No-Sells everything the heroes throw at him, from War Machine's Proton Cannon to the combined might of the Oathbrothers to the Spirit of Vengeance to Captain Marvel. It takes a series of heroes weakening him and destroying his weapons, a plan from Corvus Glaive, and Tony's willingness to lose an arm to finally kill him.
  • Karmic Death: Like his main universe counterpart, he seeks to wipe out half of all life across the universe with a Snap of the Infinity Gauntlet. Tony Stark turns his own Stones against him with the use of Dwarven magic.
  • No Body Left Behind: Like his intended victims, he turns to dust with a Snap of the Infinity Gauntlet's fingers.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: He fights off an attack by his world's Avengers, managing to defeat them all. He mentions they came remarkably close to killing him, despite his having five of the six Infinity Stones. What went down is finally revealed in Captain Marvel: Phalanx, and it is brutal.
  • Old Supervillain: The location cards with Chapter 15 of Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime) state he was born in 1770 BCE, meaning that he predates Stonehenge by over two centuries.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Thanos outlives his first son, Thane by millennia. Most of the Black Order, his adoptive children, also die during the final battle of Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime), with the exception of Supergiant and Gamora.
  • Outside-Context Problem: For the main universe heroes, who would never have expected an alternate Thanos to follow them.
  • Parental Favoritism: He refers to Gamora as his favourite daughter.
  • We Can Rule Together: He offers Steve Rogers this chance. Rogers refuses.
  • Xanatos Gambit: Thanos destroys his world, preventing the Avengers from returning the six Infinity Stones from his universe in the event of his death, thus ensuring they remain a potential threat after he's gone.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Not his minions or his army, but his universe. He has Ebony Maw destroy the World Tree of Earth-842667 with the Crown of Surtur as part of his Xanatos Gambit.

Thanos before going to obtain the Gauntlet, Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime)

  • Achilles' Heel: It has two.

    • Mind and Soul are used to scan Steve Rogers' mind.
    • Mind, Soul, and Reality are used to scan Carol Danvers' mind and force her to relive her worst memory.
    • Power and Reality combine to melt the alternate Hulk.

    • Power and Space combine to kill the alternate Carol Danvers, bring Thanos' army to the battlefield, and depower the main Carol Danvers.
    • Reality and Soul are used to take a trip through his and Steve's memories.
    • Reality and Space are used to freeze the battlefield during the final battle, telekinetically move the alternate Steve Rogers' shield, teleport the Skull of Surtur and Eternal Flame into the alternate Ebony Maw's hands, and send said Maw to Earth-842667.
  • Socketed Equipment: The Infinity Stones fit into the slots.
  • Wrecked Weapon: Tony destroys the Gauntlet with his Snap.

"What race? Look around you! Your squabbles over those damned rings drove us to near extinction!"

The Diplomat of the Black Order, Ebony Maw was born as Rolwal-Lee on the planet Nahtanoj to a people chosen to guard the Rings of Axonn-Kar. When his race drove themselves to extinction over the Rings, Ebony Maw launched them into space with his powers at the same tome Thanos arrived on his world. Raised by the Mad Titan to be his trusted diplomat, Ebony Maw aided in his centuries of conquest and war. During Thanos' hunt for the Infinity Stones, Maw killed Loki before travelling to Muspelheim with Cull Obsidian to obtain the Crown of Surtur. Going to Earth in search of Time and Space, he was present when Gamora killed the Ancient One upon discovering the sorceress had sent the Time Stone away. After a four year wait, a method to obtain the Time Stone was discovered. While rest of the Earth-842667 Black Order joined Thanos in hunting for the Time Stone on Earth-62339, Ebony Maw took the Crown of Surtur and the Eternal Flame back to Earth-842667 to destroy Yggdrasil.

  • Adaptational Name Change: In the comics, Maw has No Name Given. In the MCFFU, he was named Rolwal-Lee before joining the Black Order.
  • Killed Off for Real: He destroys Earth-842667 with the Crown of Surtur on the orders of Thanos, dying alongside the universe in the process.
  • Mind over Matter: He possesses the same telekinetic powers as his main universe counterpart.

  • Ordered to Die: Thanos orders him to destroy Earth-842667 at the cost of his own life. Maw fulfills this request.
  • Shout-Out: His name pre-Black Order is Rolwal-Lee. Rolwal is Lawlor, one of his voice actor's last names, spelled backwards. Lee is in homage to Stan Lee.
  • Villainous Friendship: In the few interactions shown between the two, Ebony Maw seems close to Corvus Glaive, with the two complimenting each other's skills.

     Supergiant

Birth Name: Nednyh

Portrayed By: Creator/Maisie Richardson Sellers, Lashana Lynch note

Appearances: Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime), Captain Marvel: Phalanx

"My name is Nednyh. I know what you're about to ask. I am the last survivor of my people. Another member of my species, a newborn, gained powers beyond our control. He created a field of dark energy and killed everyone. I survived only by shrinking down to an atomic size. I recognize you, however. You are Thanos, the Mad Titan. I seek a place in the universe, and I would enjoy one by your side."

A member of the Black Order, Supergiant joined Thanos after the extinction of her race. Joining the Mad Titan in his centuries of galactic conquest, she was a valuable member of Thanos' forces. Discovering that the main universe Corvus Glaive had attempted to steal the Mind Stone, she reported her findings to Thanos, who accelerated his quest. Travelling to Asgard with the Crown of Surtur before joining Thanos on Nidavellir, she aided in Thanos' Infinity Quest. Going to Earth in search of Time and Space, she discovered the Ancient One had sent the Time Stone away. After a four year wait, Supergiant figured out that bridging realities was the key to obtaining the Time Stone. Joining the rest of the Earth-842667 Black Order in hunting for the Time Stone on Earth-62339, she was one of only two members of the Black Order to survive the Battle of Earth.

  • Glowing Eyes: Her's glow when she uses her various powers. Shapeshifting doesn't stop this from happening, so she has to close her eyes if she wants to stay incognito.
  • Mind Rape: One of her favourite tactics is to induce nightmares and make use of psychological warfare. She forces Heimdall to destroy Asgard with the Crown of Surtur, and makes Carol Danvers relive her worst memories.
