Characters from round seven of Fifteen Strangers.
Akane Kurashiki
The Infinite
Bracelet number 6 from the original Nonary Game on the Gigantic. Akane is a strong-willed kindhearted girl who nevertheless holds a fair amount of secrets in her heart. As someone with personal experience with Zero, she's taken by surprise into this game, but takes everything with strong resolve. Her power is the ability to glide smoothly along paths of ice generated from her feet, much like an ice skater.
Made it to the survivor pool without staying shattered. Acts as the executioner for Trial 2.
- An Ice Person: As the result of her power.
- Covert Pervert: Tends to sneak in a few perverted jokes to tease people every now and then.
- In-Series Nickname: Calls herself Violet to begin with. This doesn't last long.
- Nice Girl
- Official Couple: with Kaito Momota. The two bond quite a bit during the first two weeks and they're more or less a couple by the second week. This also counts as Opposites Attract, as Akane loves the occult, while Kaito has a fear of it. This results in tragedy during Week 3 when Kaito is killed.
- Plucky Girl
- Trauma Conga Line:
- Case 2 is this for her. First Kaito dies, then the culprit is revealed to be Moriarty, then she kills him in an act of revenge, and THEN her brother, afterward, reveals he's been the fabricator.
- Case 4 makes matters worse when her brother Aoi, and Hubert who had become an adoptive brother to her, collaborated to kill Zack and were executed.
Alastor
First Light
Description
Made it through hell to the survivor pool.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: For a demon supervillain from Hell, he's a pretty nice guy.
Annushka "Anya" Borzakovskaya
The Caretaker
Description
The culprit for Case 1.
- Gone Horribly Right: Her plan for the trial was to waste as much time as possible, but hit her limits when Akane started calling Moriarty "daddy".
- Only Sane Woman: She spent the majority of case 1 regretting her existence when surrounded by everyone else's antics.
Aoi Kurashiki
The Striker
Description
Alive... for now. The fabricator, as revealed by himself after Case 2.
- Tropes
Brain
The Blue
Description
The victim of Case 3. Acts as the executioner for Trial 1.
- The Spock: What else would you expect from a guy named Brain juxtaposed with his comrade Heart? Shown more clearly when he has to Shoot the Dog at the end of Trial 1.
Gai Tsutsugami
The Adamant
Description
Made it to the survivor pool, crystals be damned.
- Tropes
Hermes v1
The Fury
Description
Made it to the survivor pool, scars and all.
- Acceptable Breaks from Reality: The computer game he's from has many examples of this, from no momentum physics, no gore or injury too overt, and even all the different universal languages not evolving over time.
- Genre Deconstruction: What happens when a video game character that knows he's in a video game enters the real world? He's gotten tripped up by actual momentum, the concept of pain and how other people react to it, among other things. Furthermore, he deconstructs cruel players mindlessly torturing and killing as Hermes doesn't even try or do good things due to the abuse and trauma he's experienced.
- Hope Is Scary: As the weeks went by and more people have been encouraging Hermes to try and make choices for himself and generally treat himself better, he slips into this, worrying about whether or not him making a big choice that matters will just backfire and hurt either himself or his friends.
- Insistent Terminology: Prefers being called an AI, not a robot, as robots in his game all have an intelligence stat of 0.
- Motor Mouth: Is capable of talking extremely fast
- No Fourth Wall: He describes both himself and the rest of the gen 1 AIs as capable of conversing with the player and knowing they're inside a computer game.
- Our Gods Are Different: He's based on the Greek god, Hermes. However, he's a video game NPC who's in charge of the quicksaving mechanic. This doesn't stop him from referring to himself and other first-gen AI as gods.
- Painting the Medium: To denote he's the only fully non-organic robot in the cast, he speaks in Courier. To denote the progression of his infection, less and less text has been in Courier.
- Playing with Fire: His power is the ability to throw and charge up fireballs.
- Shipper on Deck: So, so much. He even uses a "shipping wall" to keep track of the amount of ships he has.
- Stepford Smiler: Is generally very excitable and talkative and upbeat, but he's experienced trauma that has lead to him reveling in watching others die and not even trying to stand up for other people when it matters.
Hubert von Vestra
The Thriller
The loyal retainer to the Adrestian Emperor. Hubert handles all tasks that would be too inconvenient for the royal line to dirty their hands with, including maintaining the staff, security and... more dark tasks. His power is the ability to do absolutely SICK dance moves with accompanying confetti and lights.
One of the two culprits of Case 4, as well as the *true* fabricator. Acts as the Executioner for Trial 3. Despite being executed, made it to the survivor pool.
- Affably Evil: Often talks about all the despicable things he's done in his life... but spends his time on the Gigantic generally being very personable and even showing bits of outright kindness to his fellow Strangers. To the point that others claim to trust him outright, much to his chagrin.
- Battle Butler: His canon job description, and one he maintains on the ship. He is often found cleaning after the other Strangers.
- Big Brother Instinct: Has two younger siblings he's very protective of, and can be read as his feelings toward Edelgard as well. On the Gigantic this describes his relationship with Akane.
- Dating Catwoman: After Aoi confesses to being the Fabricator their barely hidden relationship could be read as this. Turns out it was closer to Unholy Matrimony
- Murder Is the Best Solution: Sees this as a practical option in many cases, though he assures others that he has no interest in killing for it's own sake.
- My God, What Have I Done?: His reaction after seeing Akane execute Moriarty brutally only a few hours after he urged her to take her revenge.
- Torture Is Ineffective: Runs into this when threatening Aoi after he is exposed as the Fabricator. Not only does it not work it very well could be something else entirely...
James Moriarty
The Earthworm
A professor of Mathematics, a heroic spirit, and the infamous crime lord who fought against Sherlock Holmes. Moriarty is just as dangerous as his reputation would imply - though he usually sees no need to be, and is usually a pretty affable and reasonable guy. His power is the ability to create portals, allowing instant travel between rooms the user has been to.
The culprit for Case 2.
- Cool Old Guy: Physically looks to be one of the older strangers, but that doesn't stop him from keeping up with the others pretty well.
- Parental Substitute: Aspires to be this for the Kurashiki siblings. There's a moment in Trial One where he steps up as a father figure for Akane (leading to her saying she could call him Father or 'Daddy', although this leads to a few misunderstandings).
- Zero-Approval Gambit: Attempts to do this when discovered as the culprit so no one feels guilt over his death, He receives mixed results, some hating him, others... not.
John Connor
The Maelstrom
Description
Killed by Zero due to committing an act of defiance at the start of Week 3.
- Badges and Dog Tags: Displays them proudly as a memento before his last stand.
Kaito Momota
The High King
The former Ultimate Astronaut and culprit of Case 5 in the Gifted Inmates Academy killing game. An aspiring hero, Kaito takes on a hopeful outlook on the situation despite the inevitable hopelessness of being in a killing game twice. He's not the brightest stranger in the bunch, but he has an undeniable heart and cares for others when others might not, so he aspires to earn his hero status. His power is to create a defensive aura that slows down/decreases damage done by projectiles.
The victim of Case 2.
- Born Unlucky: Kaito's luck isn't the best, especially with this being the second killing game he's been in.
- Dramatic Irony: Kaito isn't the only one from Danganronpa V3 to be in a killing game twice, though he's unaware of it.
- The Heart: One of the more empathetic strangers amongst this group, Kaito typically follows his heart more than anything else.
- Hidden Depths: Kaito enjoys botany and takes a liking to Stray Cat.
- In-Series Nickname: Star-Lord. Also calls himself 'Luminary of the Stars'.
- Nice Guy
- Official Couple: with Akane Kurashiki. The two bond quite a bit during the first two weeks and they're more or less a couple by the second week. This also counts as Opposites Attract, as Akane loves the occult, while Kaito has a fear of it. This results in tragedy during Week 3 when Kaito is killed.
- Raised by Grandparents: Kaito was raised by his Grampa and Gramma, which impacted his views a bit. He's not as hip to the trends as some others might be and enjoys what people would call the classics.
- Wistful Amnesia: Kaito has forgotten things, much like the other strangers - in his case, this includes Maki Harukawa, his previous almost-canon Love Interest. He uses her nickname, 'Maki Roll', for Makima (though it is 'Makimaki' instead of 'Harumaki').
Keith Kogane
The Paladin
Description
Killed by the Gimme during Week 1
- We Hardly Knew Ye: He didn't even get to last a week before being killed by the Gimme after stealing from him.
Makima
The Familiar
The leader of Special Division 4 in the Public Safety department of Tokyo, Japan - a "devil response task force" that only offers the choice of extermination or assimilation. Soft-spoken but sharp-witted, Makima dearly misses her seven (7) dogs and enjoys the art of cinema. Her power as The Familiar is to telekinetically move an object or summon a sword, which she does quite regularly. A Mysterious Woman by definition, since she's the only one who sacrificed points in a certain minigame to stop anything from whispering her secrets...
Made it to the survivor pool... at a price.
- Berserk Button: Do not, under any circumstances, coerce her to pretend that the real Chainsaw Man can talk.
- Nerves of Steel: Makima has negative but still fairly muted reactions to experiencing the effects of 75 stabbings, the dismemberment of her closest friend, and even her It's Complicated amputating her hand.
- Refuge in Audacity: Makima drops lines like "I Could Tell You But Then Id Have To Kill You" with almost no irony.
- Wistful Amnesia: One of the things that Makima forgot was the last time she cried watching a movie, so seeing another intense one causes her to cry again and grab Kira's hand for comfort. Although she did have that type of meaningful experience a few months before being brought onto the Gigantic, it turns out that the actual last time she cried was under almost identical circumstances in the previous time loop.
Power
The Drop
A feral young woman who is actually the Blood Devil, Power is a bit of a loudmouthed oddball. She enjoys fights, food, and the presence of cats. She works under Makima in the Public Safety Division, but they've kept their distance since the game started. Her power is to weaponize sounds to create powerful concussive soundwaves. The stronger the sound, the more powerful and ear-crushing the waves. It also causes the floors to light up for some reason.
The victim of Case 1.
- Cloudcuckoolander: Makes outlandish proclamations regularly, calling herself the 'President of Earth' and shouting at the top of her lungs.
- Kindhearted Cat Lover: A big fan of cats. Some of her cats have shown up in the game.
- The Lad-ette: Power pays no mind to anything feminine and tends to be fairly crass.
Ritsu Onozu
The Partner
An AI who was originally part of a classroom taught by a dangerous alien known as Korosensei. Presently, she exists without a real body to speak of, leading her to inhabit the deceased body of Ray, which comes with all the downsides of inhabiting what is essentially a corpse. Her power is to enhance movements by up to five times the intent.
Made it to the survivor pool... in one increasingly rotten piece.
- Cute Clumsy Girl: Ritsu's power makes her naturally liable to run into things and bruise herself repeatedly.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Turns out feeding a corpse cake is not a good idea, as she found out during Trial 1.
Roland Fortis
The Eye
One of the Twelve Chasseur Paladins of the Church, Roland is a devout man of god and a fierce fighter with an overabundance of love and a willingness to be tactile with most people he meets! He's cheerful, but isn't nearly as stupid as he seems to come off as. His power is that of 'an odd gleam that shines in his eye and the strange whispers that surround him but is really The power to see things that others cannot/Things as they are.
Made it to the survivor pool, thank the Lord. Acts as the executioner for Trial 4.
- Official Couple: With Alastor. The two of them started as strangers and from the start of some Unusual Bonding over a Minigame in Week 1, then evolved into a full blown couple by Week 4. Counts as Opposites Attract, as he's a Holy man of the cloth and Alastor is a Devil.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Roland is an amazingly kind-hearted and benevolent man. Just don't make him your enemy as he has proven he has the skills to easily take another's life.
- Cuddle Bug: Shown to be affectionate, hugging others he cares about without so much as thinking twice.
- Dual Wielding: In the Final Trial, He fought against Demonic Bugs using Durandal, that had been split into two blades/bladed-whip type of weapons.
- Good Is Not Soft: While being extremely virtuous and kind, it didn't stop him from taking out any demonic threats or punching James Moriarty when discovering he had killed Kaito Momota in Case 2 and seemed unrepentant about it.
- Smarter Than You Look: On numerous occasions, he played the role of an idiot, but is a lot more intelligent and perceptive than he truly ever let on.
- Friend to All Children: He has a soft spot for children and it's continued here. As shown with how kind and gentle he was to both Gai Tsutsugami, Ritsu Onozu & Annushka "Anya" Borzakovskaya
- Family of Choice: He comes out of the round with a Daughter. Ritsu Onozu was adopted easily and he even has referred to her AS his daughter/asked her to call him Dad within the game itself.
Valerie Castillo
The Free Hour
Description
The culprit of Case 3.
- Cuckoosnarker: Comes with the territory of being a Malkavian.
- Fully-Embraced Fiend: To be expected, since she's a Sabbat member. Val loves drinking blood and being a vampire, and doesn't care how her monstrous nature disturbs the other characters stuck on the Gigantic.
- Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Despite bring a bloodthirsty, predatory monster, was able to grow attached to some of the cast members during her time on the ship. And then burned most of those bridges when she killed Brain and desecrated his corpse.
- Lesbian Vampire
- Mad Prophet: Is normally one of these, due to her clan's curse. It's dulled somewhat due to the setting nerfing everyone's abilities.
Yoshikage Kira
The Gear
A completely normal businessman from Morioh with one wife(?) and one son(?). Kira tends to stand deliberately off-center from the spotlight and prides himself on living a life that is comfortable for him, very rarely aspiring to stray from what has kept him at ease. He believes in an occultic divination technique called onychomancy that involves predicting the future via fingernails. His power is to transform parts of the body into wheels, with accompanying engine sounds.
Made it to the survivor pool... unfortunately.
- Body Horror: In a thread with Brain, he somehow turns his face into a wheel thanks to his power.
- Born Lucky: Believes he is, at least. In his own words, "Luck is on Yoshikage Kira's side!"
- Clark Kent Outfit: Surprisingly revealed to be absolutely shredded in Trial 1. Unsurprising when considering that he's from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
- The Comically Serious: Tends to be a bit more straight-laced compared to the rest of the cast.
- Companion Cube: Self-professed to have a particular affection for the Mona Lisa. A copy appears in the casino, and he feuds with Hermes over it.
- Really Fond of Sleeping: Has a sleep routine that others can (and do) tell time by, including a glass of warm milk before bedtime. He had to make do with wine in the starvation sub-motive, and when it changed to noises meant to disrupt sleep, it made him murderous.
- Sharp-Dressed Man: Often wearing a nice suit of some kind, unless he isn't. Sometimes overlaps with Villain in a White Suit.
Zack Prince
The One
Description
The victim of case 4.
- Tropes
Zero
The somberly dressed host who first presents the rules of the game. Delta from Zero Escape.
- Tropes
The Gimme
A creature and a salesman who guards items and will sell them to the strangers for the price of a few coins. However, whatever item they get is random. Implied to not be someone to mess with. Kills Keith the first week for attempting to steal from him. His true name is Charon.
- Tropes
Cubey
A polar bear that guards the weapon room. Named by Kaito, since he's a polar bear, so he reminded him of ice cubes. Any other name resemblance is unintentional...probably. Has a mysterious collar that no one knows the meaning of.
