Shinto Goddess of the sun incarnated in the form of a wolf, she is one of the gods of Nippon. While on her journey to rid her land of evil demons, a chance encounter with a boy from another world leads her journey down a new and strange path.- Action Girl: Easily the strongest of the main characters when in Nippon at least

- God Needs Prayers Badly: Being a god from Nippon, her power relies on the prayers of the people. Becomes a slight problem when she's all but cut off from it while in the modern world
Issun Boshi (Issun)
A self proclaimed wandering artists, Issun follows Amaterasu on her journey with hopes of acquiring the 13 Brush Techniques. Despite his appearance at first, he is in fact NOT a bug, but rather a Poncle.- Chivalrous Pervert: Same as in canon.
Souji Seta
A young man from the modern age, he was sent to Nippon while preparing to move to the town of Inaba.Persona: Izanagi- Big Brother Instinct: Even more so than in canon due to his little brother, Yu
- Shock and Awe: His Persona, Izanagi
Yu Seta
Souji's younger brother. He was pulled into Nippon along with his brother, and somehow acquired a COMP system.- Badass Adorable: Relatively speaking, since he's still a kid, but is able to fight on the front lines too.
- Summon Magic: His COMP allows him to use an artificial variant of it.
Mariko (Marie)
A mysterious girl Souji meets in Nippon. Having lost her memory, she journeys with the group in hopes of recovering her memories.- Mysterious Waif: Her lack of memories makes her this.
- Shock and Awe: She is able to control electricity.

One of Orochi's servants who guarded the Tsuta Ruins.- Adaptational Badass: In the game she is the first boss and likely an opponent most wouldn't have too much of trouble with. In this story, she proved to be a tough enemy even for Amaterasu though she DID need a power boost from Orochi to do so
Shadow Yosuke
The manifestation of the darkness in Yosuke's heart, going berserk after he denied it. It ruled over the Dungeon known as "Twisted Junes" in the TV World.- Adaptational Badass: In the games it was the first boss fight that Souji could beat by himself. In this story, it took a joint effort of Souji, Amaterasu, Chie, and Marie to beat.
