Takamiya Household

The main cast of Date A Live: Altered Timeline series, whose powers are tied to Westcott's ultimate goals and the many mysteries tied to the origins of the Eurasian Sky Disaster.

WARNING! All spoilers are unmarked.

Everyone as a Whole

    General
  • Field Power Effect: The different Spirits have been shown as being strengthened by being in a situation where their element is widely available, such as Origami being more powerful during the day and Tohka being stronger at night or in the shade.

The Takamiya Siblings

    General
  • Forgotten First Meeting: They met Tohka when they were young and living in an orphanage, but upon reuniting with her in the present day, neither of them recognize her at all.

    Shinji Takamiya

Shinji Takamiya

The protagonist of Date A Live: Altered Timeline, and the older brother of Mana Takamiya.

  • Official Couple: With Mio, since before he was reborn as a Spirit. Due to Mio sealing away his memories because of the events that nearly caused his death, he currently doesn't remember this.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Unlike canon, he was still (barely) alive after being shot by Ike, so Mio was able to have him be reborn as the same person instead of what happened in canon where he was reborn as Shido.

    Mana Takamiya

Mana Takamiya

The deuteragonist of Date A Live: Altered Timeline, and the younger sister of Shinji Takamiya.

The Spirits

    General

    Tohka Yatogami

Tohka Yatogami

Code Name: Princess
Angel: Sandalphon
Astral Dress: Adonai Melek

  • Big Eater: During her meeting with Shinji, Tohka eats so much that Shinji worries he might run out of money before she is full.
  • Childhood Friends: As she discovers upon regaining her memories, Tohka met Shinji and Mana during their time living at Tenguu City's orphanage. She decides not to tell them about this, due to her promise with Mio.
  • Emergency Transformation: She was born a Pure Spirit like Mio, but in order to prevent her from dying due to her body destabilizing, Mio had to absorb her and then absorb a dead human's body, making her part Human like the others.
  • Expressive Accessory: Her ribbon sometimes reacts to her mood. So far, its shown to sharpen itself when she's angry.
  • Fish out of Water: She shows this when she is on her "date" with Shinji. To give one example, when her stomach growls during the middle of a conversation with him, she doesn't realize that it means that she is hungry.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: When Shinji and Mana first meet her, Tohka has no memories beyond a few things, not even knowing what food or eating is. Following her first encounter with them, the first memory she regains is of her name. The rest of her memory returns at the end of the first arc, after they're fully unsealed, where it's revealed Mio sealed them as part of her plans to fight and defeat DEM Industries.
  • Name Amnesia: Tohka initially suffers from this, but compared to Date A Re:Live, she remembers it prior to her second meeting with the main character thanks to Mio.
  • Secret-Keeper: Tohka is the only one who knows the truth behind Mio's actions and current whereabouts, but has promised Mio to keep this hidden from everyone, especially Shinji and Mana.

    Origami Tobiichi

Origami Tobiichi

Code Name: Angel
Angel: Metatron
Astral Dress: Ehyeh

  • Adaptational Heroism: As a result of having her New Timeline personality from the start, Origami never developed her hatred towards Spirits.
  • Happily Adopted: She was taken in by her Aunt after her parents died in a car crash four years ago.

    Yamai Sisters

Yamai Sisters

Code Name: Sylpheed

Kaguya Yamai

Yuzuru Yamai

    Kotori Itsuka

Kotori Itsuka

Code Name: Salamandra
Angel: Camael
Astral Dress: Elohim Gibor

  • Adaptational Personality Change: Her personality is a fusion of her three personalities in canon, with the Blood Knight tendencies from her Spirit form, the kindness from her White Ribbon/Little Sister form, and her attitude from her Black Ribbon/Commander form.
  • Blood Knight: She's very happy to wreck the Diabolus once she has decided that she has had enough of Westcott.
  • Fiery Redhead: Though she does try to hide it from those she doesn't know well, she has a very short temper.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: She sports this look right after healing herself from getting shot at by the Diabolus.

    Yoshino Himekawa

Yoshino Himekawa

Code Name: Undine
Angel: Zadkiel
Astral Dress: El

  • Pseudo-Romantic Friendship: Her relationship with Natsumi has shades of this, for Natsumi seems to be most comfortable when with Yoshino compared to the others in the Keisei Junior High group and later all the Spirits.

    Natsumi Kyouno

Natsumi Kyouno

Code Name: Tanuki
Angel: Haniel
Astral Dress: Adonai Tzabaoth

  • Adaptational Heroism: Despite her way of thinking being the same as canon, she uses her powers as a Spirit for the sake of others, rather than for revenge.
  • The Cynic: Among Mana's group of friends, she usually expects the worst in most situations, and even when something good does happen to her, she'll often wonder how long it will last.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: While the details are unknown, Mukuro mentions that Yoshino "saved her" in the past, implying this is the cause behind her cynical way of thinking.
  • Healing Hands: She can use Haniel's shape-shifting abilities to heal others by transforming someone’s body into one without injuries, though this only works on physical injuries.
  • Marshmallow Hell: Ends up being a victim of this when Miku hugs her for her work with healing civilians hurt during the Diabolus attack, much to her displeasure.

    Mukuro Hoshimiya

Mukuro Hoshimiya

Code Name: Cosmos
Angel: Michael
Astral Dress: Eloah

  • Brutal Honesty: When Kotori, Yoshino, and Natsumi all try to dodge Mana's question about them not noticing her reaction to seeing her brother and Tohka pass by them, Mukuro willingly admits that she didn't see it, knowing her reply is all Mana needs to realize none of them saw it either.
  • Younger Than They Look: Despite being a Junior High School student, she has the figure of someone who should be in High School.

    Miku Izayoi

Miku Izayoi

Code Name: Lorelei
Angel: Gabriel
Astral Dress: Shaddai El Chai

  • Adaptational Heroism: She shows no signs of having been an Evil Diva like in canon, and has no issues with men, based on her first meeting with Shinji.
  • Marshmallow Hell: Ends up doing this to Natsumi when congratulating her for healing those hurt by the Diabolus.

    Kurumi Tokisaki

Kurumi Tokisaki

Code Name: Seelie
Angel: Zafkiel
Astral Dress: Elohim

  • Age Lift: Unlike in canon, she is young enough to attend high school.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Her vision gets blurry if she isn't wearing her glasses.
  • Dropped Glasses: Implied to be a common occurrence, along with them breaking after they fall off, since she carries multiple spares on hand.
  • Triple Shifter: Nia has to deal with her deadlines for her Manga from her editor while still going to school.

    Mio Takamiya

Mio Takamiya

Code Name: Deus
Angel: Ain, Ain Soph, & Ain Soph Aur
Astral Dress: Shevirat Ha Kalim

  • Adaptational Heroism: As she reveals to Tohka, her reason for the creation of the Spirits is much more altruistic and selfless, as they are meant to be the swords and shields protecting Shinji and Mana from Westcott's megalomania.
  • For Your Own Good: When Tohka asks her why she sealed away her memories, Mio shares her own to explain her reasons. It works. However, Tohka doesn't fully accept her reasons until she explains what will happen if Shinji were to die.
  • Interface Screw: When in the disguise of Phantom, her shroud of noise makes few able to see her, both with one's eyes or a form of camera.
  • Ms. Exposition: During her first meeting with Tohka (as Phantom), she explains several things about who Tohka is and certain traits that are shared across all of the Spirits.
  • Official Couple: With Shinji, since before he was reborn as a Spirit.
  • Secret Identity: When forced to come out of hiding and talking to Tohka before she restores her memory, Mio hides herself under a shroud noise and calls herself Phantom.
  • Symbiotic Possession: When Shinji is at risk of dying, Mio temporarily borrows Tohka's body in order to heal him. This causes Tohka's hair and eye colors to become Mio's, and allows Shinji to see Mio herself for a brief moment.
