The Nibelcole
- Adaptational Abomination: Rather than the group of Pseudo-Spirits based on Marina Arusu they are in canon, the Nibelcole of the story are some kind of shadowy ghosts who attack Spirits.
- Chess Motif: They're compared to Pawns, despite not being a part of the DEM's automaton army. This is because when compared to a Spirit, they're individually weaker, but still strong in overwhelming numbers.
- Our Ghosts Are Different: While the exact nature of what they are is a mystery, the Nibelcole are described as "shadows without any features like a generic stick person", giving them a ghostly appearance.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: They having glowing red-pink eyes, which is the only facial feature they have.

- Adaptational Villainy: Unlike canon, where he was a Bromantic Foil for Shido, or "Date A Re:Live", where he was a member of Ratatoskr, he's a spy for DEM Industries.
- Codename: His name as a DEM spy is Black Crow.
- False Friend: While calling him a friend may be a stretch, he clearly acts like he's Shinji's buddy as part of his cover.
- Meaningful Name: His codename was chosen based on how he's a villain who gathers information in plain sight.
- The Mole: He works as one for DEM Industries, gathering information and relaying it back to him.
