Main characters

    Squire Flicker
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdflicker.png

Voiced by: Edward Glen (show), Joseph Rye (game)

Flicker is the main protagonist, and the Squire to Sir Loungelot. He is an inspiring inventor and dreams of becoming a knight. Unfortunately, his master Sir Loungelot finds him more useful as a de facto servant, rather then a squire.

  • Bungling Inventor: His inventions rarely work as he planned.
  • Honor Before Reason: This is what is holding Flicker back the most. His sense of honor prevents him from taking credit for his several accomplishments that would easily promote him to knighthood. Thus allowing Loungelot to swoop in, and take credit for himself. His devotion to the Knight's Code of Chivalry is fanatical often to the point of Skewed Priorities. In one particular episode, Flicker's instance at cleaning up litter ensured that Geoffrey and his knights escaped with the taxes they extorted from enslaved peasants.
  • Humble Hero: In Flicker's words, "a job well done is reward enough." Too bad Loungelot thinks otherwise.
  • Hyper-Competent Sidekick: To his master Sir Loungealot.
  • The Squire: Flicker's theoretical role in Camelhot. However, due to Loungelot's lazy and exploitative personality, Flicker is his servant in all but name.

    Princess Flame

Flame's season 1 design
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flame_season_2_copy.png
Flame's season 2 redesign

Voiced by: Stephanie Morgenstern (show), Kath Soucie (game)

Princess Flame is the daughter of King Allfire and the stepdaughter to Queen Griddle. She serves as the deuteragonist of the first season, but was gradually Demoted to Extra in the second season. Flame is very headstrong and dedicated to her ideals.

  • Action Girl: She is arguably the most competent character in the show. Her notable instances of badassery include secretly entering a jousting tournament for her hand and curbstomping all of the other contestants, defeating Sir Geoffrey with her father's sword Excaliburn in single combat, and starting an all female knights' club (which included Flicker Dragged into Drag) that temporarily out competed the Knights of the Square Table.
  • Art Evolution: As with many other characters, Flame's character model was drastically redesigned in season 2. Most notably, her hair is no longer concealed by a veil, and its color has been changed from purple to blonde. Her dress color also has changed from various shades of pink with some purple in the first season, to a combination of light green, purple, and red in the second season.
  • Demoted to Extra: Although she was featured fairly often in the early episodes of season 2, her role drastically diminished over the course of the season. To the point that she pretty much devolved into a background character, if she even appeared at all.
  • Missing Mom: Flame's biological mother has never been seen or even mentioned in the show or the game.
  • Only Sane Woman
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: She often works with Flicker to foil Sir Geoffrey's schemes.

Royal Couple

    King Allfire
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdallfire.png

Voiced by: Aron Tager (show), Jim Cummings (game)

King Allfire is the noble-hearted but comically inept ruler of Camelhot. He is the father of Princess Flame, the stepfather of Sir Blaze, and Queen Griddle's second husband.

  • Big Good: As the King of Camelhot, he tries to serve this role. Key word, tries.
  • Expy: Obviously, he is a parody of King Arthur from Arthurian Legend.
  • Henpecked Husband: Allfire is fully under the thumb of his aggressive and demanding wife.
  • Wicked Step Father: To a very toned down degree. At best, Allfire is rather indifferent to his stepson, but does express mild disdain and annoyance towards him on occasion.

    Queen Griddle
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdgriddle.png

Voiced by: Steven Sutcliffe

Griddle is the queen of Camelhot, whose temper (and girth) is the stuff of legends around the kingdom. She is the mother of Sir Blaze, the stepmother of Princess Flame, and Allfire's second wife.

  • Expy: She is a parody of Queen Guinevere. Griddle's ogling and favoritism towards Lougealot is a reference to Guinevere's and Lancelot's legendary affair.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: Her fiery (pun intended) temper is feared throughout Camelhot.
  • My Beloved Smother: Griddle is very doting and overly protective of her son Sir Blaze. She looses all semblance of controlling her temper whenever he is endangered or missing.
  • Parent with New Paramour: She is this to Princess Flame.
  • Pity the Kidnapper
  • Wicked Step Mother: Downplayed. Griddle isn't particularly malicious towards Flame, but she is fairly controlling of her. Most notably, Griddle frequently tries to get Flame married off against her will.
  • Womanchild: Despite being a middle aged queen, she frequently throws temper tantrums like a bratty toddler.

Knights of the Square Table

    Sir Loungelot
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdloungelot.png

"Sir Loungelot, ready to be served a king-sized breakfast!"
Voiced by: Scott Wentworth (show, season 1), Juan Chioran (show, season 2), Jeff Bennett (game)

Sir Loungelot is the head Knight of the Square Table. He is heralded as their greatest champion, but in truth he is lazy and cowardly. Most of the time, he spends his day womanizing, napping, eating, and bragging of his nonexistent "feats". Especially those that were actually done by his de jure squire and de facto manservant Flicker.

  • Bad Boss: Generally speaking, Sir Loungelot spends more time making Flicker do manual labor then actually training him. He also takes credit for Flicker's achievements, as Flicker is too modest and loyal to stand up for himself. Whenever Flicker is in trouble or danger, Loungelot will not hesitate to throw him under the bus.
  • Butt-Monkey: Boy, is he the show's chew toy. In the first season alone, he suffered a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown from a rabbit knight, was transformed into a newt, sat on by overweight pig bandits, and catapulted into the castle gate.
  • Dirty Coward: In one episode, Sir Lounglelot, Princess Flame, and Flicker were ambushed by a gang of bandits. Loungelot offered to hand Flicker and Princess Flame over to them, in exchange for his own safety. Thankfully, the bandits seemed content with only stealing valuables the group was carrying. Thus leaving Flicker and Flame mostly unharmed. In another, Loungelot refused to rescue the kidnapped Queen Griddle, until he was strong armed into it by Princess Flame.
  • Expy: He is a spoof of Sir Lancelot. His hair is also stylized after Elvis Presley.
  • Lazy Bum: His primary character trait. He relies on Flicker to perform his duties for him.
  • Meaningful Name: Loungelot's name perfectly summarizes his lazy personality.
  • Professional Butt-Kisser: He takes advantage of Queen Griddle's advances in order to improve his social standing.

    Sir Blaze
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdblaze.png

"Sir Blaze, the Smartly Dressed, ready to serve the hor d'oeuvres!"
Voiced by: Richard Binsley (show), Gregg Berger (game)

Sir Blaze is the biological son of Queen Griddle and the stepson of King Allfire. He is extremely flamboyant and effeminate, but is one of the more competent Knights of the Square Table.

  • Ambiguously Gay: Sir Blaze displays many stereotypes such as gardening, being obsessed with fashion, and speaking effeminately. Also note that in the theme song, when the line "We're straight [and true]" is sung, he winks at the camera. However his love life is never touched upon as he only fell in love with a statue of himself but that was a result of being hit by a Cupid’s arrow.
  • Disappeared Dad: His biological father, Sir Herman the Near-Sighted, was lost at sea years ago after loaning his glasses to a giant.
  • Nice Guy: He treats Flicker with respect and admires his inventions. In contrast (with the exception of Flame), the other Camelhot denizens either ignore Flicker's existence entirely or treat him like a servant.
  • The Fashionista: Fashion is one of Blaze's favorite hobbies.
  • Agent Peacock: Blaze is easily one of the most formidable of King Allfire's knights. At one point, he single handily rescued himself, Princess Flame, and Flicker from Castle Threadbare's clutches.

    Sir Burnevere
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdburnevere.png

"Sir Burnevere, the Overly Educated, obsequiously accessible to facilitate the monarch!"
Voiced by: John Stocker (show), Terry Jones (game)

Sir Burnevere is the oldest and wisest of the Knights of the Square Table. However, his extremely thick Scottish accent and habit of using big words means that none of his fellow knights can understand anything he says.

  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Sir Burnevere has a tendency to this, to the point that the Minstrel once observed nobody in Camelot can understand him.

    Sir Galahot
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdgalahot.png

"Sir Galahot, the Proper, ready to serve the king!"
Voiced by: Richard Waugh

Sir Galahot is a large and imposing Knight of the Square Table. Very little is known about him, but he describes himself in his debut as tall and proper.

  • Out of Focus: He has the least screentime and dialogue of the Knights of the Square Table, leaving his character largely unexplored.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Sir Galahot, along with Sir Hotbreath, completely disappears in season 2.

    Sir Hotbreath
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdhotbreath.png

"Sir Hotbreath, the Not-So-Proper, ready to serve the king! *BELCH!!!*"
Voiced by: Dan Hennessey

Sir Hotbreath is the shortest of the Knights of the Square Table. He has an uncontrollable tendency to burp fire as he talks, usually singing things around him as a result.

  • Gasshole: His defining characteristic is that he constantly burps fire.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Sir Hotbreath, along with Sir Galahot, completely disappears in season 2.

Other Camelhot staff

     Cinder and Clinker
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdcinderclinker.png

Voiced by: Richard Waugh

Cinder and Clinker is the two-headed jester in the court of King Allfire. Cinder, the left head, is perpetually upbeat, while Clinker, the right head, is always depressed.

  • Multiple Head Case: They're two heads on one body, with both heads having their own personality and having a tendency to finish each other's jokes and sentences.

     The Wandering Minstrel
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdwanderingminstrel.png

Voiced by: Richard Binsley

The Wandering Minstrel served as the narrator for season 1. In season 2, his character was mostly dropped (though he did appear in one episode).

     The Chancellor

Castle Threadbare

    Count Geoffrey
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdgeoffrey.png

Voiced by: John Koensgen (season 1), Cedric Smith (season 2)

Count Geoffrey is the main antagonist of the cartoon, though not present in the video game. A card-carrying tyrant, he is disgruntled with his rundown kingdom and thus constantly plots on capturing Camelhot from the Knights of the Square Table.

  • Art Evolution: As with many characters, Geoffrey's character model was redesigned beginning with the second season premiere. Unlike Flame, however, he appears in the design from season 1, and Merle gives him a killer makeover. His most notable changes are that his helm was swapped for a dragon skull, his hair color was changed from dark ginger to black, and his skin was given a much more pale color.
  • Bad Boss: "Bad boss" is putting things lightly. Geoffrey often uses his peasants as support beams to hold up his decaying castle and catapult ammo. He also had his first Evil Spy fed to the Crocodiles and subjected Evil Knight 4 to an unknown, yet unpleasant fate.
  • Demoted to Extra: Like Flame, his role in season 2 was drastically reduced. Sir Geoffrey's diminished role in Season 2 was done in favor for putting a higher emphasis on one-note villains of the week for their episodes' antagonists.

    Evil Knights No. 1, 2, and 3
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdevilknights.png

Voiced by: John Koensgen (Evil Knight No. 1, Season 1), Rick Jones (Evil Knight No. 1, Season 2), John Stocker (Evil Knight No. 2), Dan Hennessey (Evil Knight No. 3)

Count Geoffrey's bumbling henchmen. No. 1 is the fat one with the mustache. No. 2 is the short and skinny one with the long pointy nose. No. 3 is the bald and muscular one with the stubble.

    Merle the Wizard
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdmerle.png

Voiced by: Suzanne Coy

Merle the Wizard is Count Geoffrey's personal magician. She is a diminutive, wisecracking wicked witch whom Geoffrey often calls upon when he needs a bit of magic for his schemes.

  • Deadpan Snarker: She's always ready with a sarcastic quip or two.
  • She Is the King: A rare non-royalty related example - despite being referred to as "wizard", she's female.

    Evil Spy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bdevilspy.png

Evil Spy is Sir Geoffrey's agent to Camelhot, keeping tabs on what the Knights of the Square Table are up to so Geoffrey can come up with a scheme. He wears a crudely crafted purple dragon costume.

  • The Faceless: What his face looks like underneath the crude dragon mask, is never revealed.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: His dragon costume is obviously stitched together, yet he never seems to be noticed by any of the dragons.
  • The Voiceless: Evil Spy is never heard speaking. He is only seen whispering in Sir Geoffrey's ear.

Other characters

     Racka and Presley

Two recurring inmates imprisoned in Camlehot's dungeons.

Video Game Characters Only

    Sir George

Voiced by: Cheech Marin

Sir George is the main antagonist of the game, who is based on Count Geoffrey from the cartoon. Like Geoffrey, Sir George wants to take over Camelhot.

  • Expy: As stated, he is the game's version of Count Geoffrey.
