(SPOILER!) Click here to see her in Season 2.
Cheerful and restless, Yume is a long-time fan of Hime who entered Four Star Academy in order to become a member of S4 and meet her. In the first episode, a strange phenomenon caused her to put on a performance that amazed everyone, until she passes out and is unable to remember anything upon waking up. She is a cute-type idol from the Flower Song Class who uses the brand My Little Heart. In Season 2, she created her own brand, Berry Parfait, which she later upgrades into Rainbow Berry Parfait with the help of Koharu.
Age: 12-13 (S1), 13-14 (S2)
Birthday: March 3 (Pisces)
Specialty: Daydreaming and the will to never give up
Type: Cute
Main brand: Rainbow Berry Parfait (previously Berry Parfait)
School: Four Star Academy
Units: Yuzukoshō, S4
Voiced by: Miyu Tomita (speaking), Sena Horigoshi (singing)

Tropes associated with Yume:

  • Animal Motifs: Koalas. Her brand's mascot is a koala and she includes a drawing of a koala in her autograph.
  • Ascended Fangirl: A fan of Hime's whose dream was to enter S4, which she accomplished at the end of season one.
  • Bad Liar: The poor girl is unable to lie to save her life.
  • Big Eater: Almost always seen with a large plate of food, usually something sweet.
  • Butt-Monkey: Early on in season one she was shaping into one. She has not only fallen out of tree, but also ran straight into a bush, tripped over her own feet a few times, and some characters treated her poorly.
  • Childhood Friends: With Koharu.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Hoo boy.
  • Composite Character: Most fans compare her to being a cross between prior protagonists Ichigo and Akari. Not only in looks but personality.
  • Fangirl: Of Hime.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Held by knotted hair. In season two, they're longer and wavier.
  • The Glomp: Most often towards Rola and Koharu.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold
  • Hot-Blooded: Can be quite competitive and extreme when fired up too much, especially while training. This usually results in her getting hurt.
  • Idiot Hair: A small one.
  • The Klutz: Best demonstrated by her first meeting with Subaru, which with ends with her falling from a high branch in a tree on top of him.
  • Meaningful Name: Her given name means "dream", while her surname contains the character for "rainbow", a recurring theme for her.
  • Nice Girl: She's usually very friendly and hard-working.
  • No Sense of Direction: Koharu confirms in the first episode that Yume has always done poorly with them.
  • Oblivious to Love: At the end of episode 37, Subaru starts developing feelings for Yume, but she doesn’t seem to notice as she doesn’t see him as anything more than a friend and (supposedly) a rival, if not at all.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The one time she didn't have an appetite, everyone immediately noticed something is troubling her.
  • Pink Heroine: It's very rare to find her in anything without pink on it. Even her hair goes from blonde to pink.
  • Plucky Girl: What else to expect from an Aikatsu! protagonist?
  • Rainbow Motif: A common theme for her.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Rola's blue.
    • She’s also the current kouhai to Ichigo's sempai in the second crossover episode.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Her eyes are three separate colors: red, orange, and yellow.
  • To Be a Master: She aims to be the top idol, which she finally accomplishes in Season 2 by defeating then-current reigning idol Elza Forte.
  • Tsundere: To Subaru, when he acts like a Troll towards her, but she warmed up to him later on.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Some fans viewed her this way at first due to the mysterious Headmaster.

    Rola Sakuraba
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cf50737b6ec75b604dbcfb8c2390bdd3.jpg
A haughty girl who becomes Yume's first friend and rival at Four Star. A talented singer, she becomes interested in Yume after the latter does really bad in training, despite her amazing first performance. Rola is a cool-type idol in the Flower Song Class who uses the brand Spice Chord.
Age: 12-13 (S1), 13-14 (S2)
Birthday: November 4 (Scorpio)
Specialty: Doing introduction quizzes
Type: Cool
Main brand: Spice Chord
School: Four Star Academy
Voiced by: Ayaka Asai (speaking), Rie Fujishiro (singing)

Tropes associated with Rola:

  • Anime Hair: A thick ponytail that splits at the middle into three separate drills.
  • The Ace: One of, if not THE, best singers in her year. She also managed to get first place in the Song Class audition (which is considered the most difficult one to pass) and shows talent in many fields.
  • Butt-Monkey: Despite starting out as The Ace, the series slowly starts giving her some pretty bad losses throughout the first season. Come the second season, Rola has become something of a punching bag to the point that the rival school's headmistress shows very little respect for her despite her talent and mocks her even when Rola has success.
  • Can't Catch Up: Despite her large amount of talent, she's only won a handful of the competitions she's participated in, and compared to the likes of the new S4 she can't really compare. By the time she makes her international debut, Yume had been the top idol for quite sometime.
  • Catchphrase: 'Omoshiroi janai', which roughly translates to "Isn't that interesting?".
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: While she was never that cold to begin with, befriending Yume has made her a lot softer.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Starts out with the impression that she thinks pretty highly of herself; almost arrogantly confident. She was very quick to show her superiority over Yume at the beginning of Season 1 by trying to knock her down in regards to making it into S4. Mostly likely influenced by being from a prominent musical family and being raised on high expectations. By episode 7 you can already see that her supposed superiority was a mask for a complete lack of confidence. Mild compared to other more arrogant characters under this trope. See also Break the Haughty as the facade breaks down as she continues to lose to Yume and then gets repeatedly insulted by Elza.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Rola, like Elza, knows what it's like to suppress the emotions she wants to express more than anything, and wants to make Elza realize that.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Yume's red.
  • Stepford Smiler: Hides her emotions behind emotional walls all while smiling like she's always fine. Tsubasa called her out for always smiling yet sighing to herself when she was alone.
  • Tsundere: Originally displayed a softer variation of this this attitude with Yume whenever she did something nice for her.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Vinegar kelp. An ice cream was made based on it for her.

    Hime Shiratori

    Lily Shirogane
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shiroganelilyfull2230990.jpg
Composed and elegant, Lily has a weak body and spends her time off-campus at a rehabilitation facility where she can rest and train. She enjoys fashion and wishes to become a designer. A cool-type Idol who originally used Spice Chord until developing her own brand, Gothic Victoria.
Age: 13-14 (S1), 14-15 (S2)
Birthday: January 22 (Aquarius)
Specialty: Playing chess and cards
Type: Cool
Main brand: Gothic Victoria (previously Spice Chord)
School: Four Star Academy
Units: Yuzutto Lilie☆
Voiced by: Reina Ueda (speaking), Nanase Matsuoka (singing)

Tropes associated with Lily:

  • Affectionate Nickname: Called "Lilyenne" by Yuzu.
  • Anime Hair: Long, thick hair separated in four equally thick drills with an ice-blue ombre. Her straight cut bangs blend in with two more, smaller drills.
  • Animal Motif: Caged birds. They often appear in her coords in some form and her first performance features a giant broken bird cage, while her second features her in one. Her appeal involves her gaining feathery wings near the end.
  • Childhood Friends: With Yuzu.
  • Hurricane of Aphorisms: Well known for throwing proverbs at the drop of a hat.
  • An Ice Person: Nicknamed the "Tundra Songstress" and whenever she's present a rush of cold air blows in.
  • Informed Flaw: Though she is depicted frequently as lacking stamina and body strength, this does little to affect her ability to perform. While her movements in her character songs aren't necessarily wild, she does enough jumping around and spinning (on top of singing), especially in The Wasteland's Miracle, that you'd wonder how she can't even manage two push-ups.
  • Out of Focus: Season 2 has her on the back burner due to the Venus Ark drama.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Yuzu's red.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Red and purple.
