Targets

    Martin Lohrmann & Severin Weiss

Martin Lohrmann & Severin Weiss

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lohrmann_and_weiss.png

Citizenship: German

Affiliation(s): Third Reich, Alfredo Stroessner, Themselves

A pair of Nazi Third-Reich Surgeons that are confidants to the president of Paraguay; Alfredo Stroessner.

  • Asshole Victim: They were killed because Providence needed to weaken the presidents' influence it seems.
  • Co-Dragons: To Alfredo Stroessner, though 6 only says "the current president" in the comic proper. Given the current events unfolding, their assassination takes place in 1989.
  • Nazi Gold: One of them begs for their life and offers 47 gold if they let them go free. 47...declines.
  • The Faceless: Either Lohrmann or Weiss (the comic does not make it obvious who's who) has their face cutoff when falling down a drainpipe.
  • Those Wacky Nazis: The two were former Nazi surgeons that fled to Paraguay after the Third Reich had collapsed.

    Tor Halversom

Tor Halversom

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/both_tor.png

Citizenship: Swedish

Affiliation(s): Providence (Presumed), Halversom Media, Himself

The wealthy CEO of Halversom Media.

  • A Lady on Each Arm: This is how he's introduced in the comic.
  • Beard of Evil: We're not given the reason as to why Tor is a target, but it's likely Providence wanted him dead for past transgressions.
  • The Casanova: Implied, given the lady on his arm.
  • Comic-Book Fantasy Casting: Bares some resemblance to Reed Richards, even sporting a similar hairstyle, goatee, and greying sides the character is known for.
  • Grin of Audacity: His smug grin on his face says it all.
  • Karmic Death: 47 and 6 kill him with his own wine collection. During the hit, Subject 6 narrates over the assassination as a means to explain to 47 what poetic justice is, giving him a loose definition. When Tor retreats into his wine cellar, corks come flying out from bottles and he impales himself on a broken bottle when he stumbles backwards into it.
  • Make It Look Like an Accident: 47 and 6 set up a death trap in his wine cellar and impales him with a broken bottle.

    Mikhail Slavsky

Mikhail Slavsky

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mikhail.png

Citizenship: Russian / Ukrainian

Affiliation(s): Russian Army, Himself

A Pripyat soldier operating a smuggling ring out of the exclusion zone in Pripyat.

  • Cluster Bleep-Bomb: Mikhail only says varying Russian swear words in the comic, all of which are censored.
  • Fun with Subtitles: As mentioned on the main page, his entire time in the comic is just him swearing....which is censored. Immediately below his first curse is a "*Translated from Russian" prompt, which is completely redundant to add as the reader has no clue as what he's actually saying.
  • Impromptu Tracheotomy: 47 snipes him in the neck and bleeds out on his way to being handed over to the residents of the exclusion zone.
  • Oh, Crap!: His reaction when he sees a dead body, as he realises someone is out to kill him and immediately starts running down the stairs to the exit.

    Franklin Marchand

Franklin Marchand

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/both_franklin_marchand.png

Citizenship: Unknown

Affiliation(s): Bricolage Technologies, Himself

Founder of Bricolage Technologies, maker of satellites and has a hand in making weapons for Chemical Warfare.

  • Call-Back: His company; Bricolage Industries, had a leak of poisonous chemicals in their Afghanistan plant which killed 200 plant workers and 300 people in the surrounding towns as it had polluted the water. Franklin set up a relief fund to help those in the area in order to look benevolent and for good PR. 47's contractor see's through this act and kills him before the ICA does. Blue Seed Pharmaceuticals were the ones who leaked chemicals into the water that killed James Burnwood, and were the impetus of Diana's Roaring Rampage of Revenge.
  • Smug Snake: Before he's killed, the two panels show him off like this, with a smug smile on his mug.
  • Impromptu Tracheotomy: He dies by a camera exploding in front of him, presumably set up by 47 and his throat has lodges glass pieces in it.
  • The Hermit: Shares this with Thomas Cross from 2016 and is described as being reserved most of the time, not leaving his home unless he needs to.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: His death and his hit going wrong leads to Diana finding 47 in a bar, with Diana urging him to join the ICA.

Other Notable Characters

    Alvin Forrestal

Alvin Forrestal

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/both_forrestal_2.png

Citizenship: Unknown (Presumed English)

Affiliation(s): Providence (Presumed), Blue Seed Pharmaceuticals

An office worker at Blue Seed Pharmaceuticals.

  • Ambiguous Situation: It's not obvious if he really did know anything about the hit on Diana's parents. That said, his attitude before dying gives a pretty compelling argument that he at least had something to do with it.
  • Batman Grabs a Gun: The only person in the entire series to be threatened directly by Diana with a gun. While her intent was to kill him in a fit of rage, she then fires near him, and decides to use it more as a bargaining tool. Until Savi kills him, that is.
  • Boom, Headshot!: This is how he dies. Diana wanted information from him, but Savi killed him because Diana didn't.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: When threatened at gunpoint, he pleads that he has a wife and two daughters around Diana's age.
  • Slasher Smile: Before getting sniped and dying, he waggles his finger at Diana, and claims he didn't know about the car bombing at the cemetery.
  • Moment Killer: Before his brains are exhumed out of his skull by a sniper bullet, he makes an ambiguous statement about the car bombing incident at Brookwood Cemetery while standing menacingly:
"...I didn't have anything to do with—"

    The Technician

The Technician

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/a47_both_technician.png

Citizenship: Unknown (presumably German)

Affiliation(s): The Institute

An outside contractor; the man responsible for creating the clones' behavioural implants.

  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: The Institute tasked him with making implants for the clones that would explode if their behaviour went out of line. In return, they would keep his family safe.
  • He Knows Too Much: 47 kills him after the implant nullifier is made for this reason, to reduce the chance The Institute cottons onto their plan. 6 is not happy about this, and reminds 47 that killing people is not the "easy way out".
  • I Did What I Had to Do: He claims that, much like 6 and 47, he never asks why he made them, only that if he wanted to keep his family safe, he had to do it.
  • The Engineer: Manages to make a implant nullifier to wirelessly disable implants within radius.

    The Burnwoods

James, Nancy, and Peter Burnwood

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/burwoods_both.png
Peter (Left) and Nancy (Right).
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/h2_peter_nancy_burnwood.png
Peter and Nancy as they appear in Hitman 2

Citizenship: English

Affiliation(s): Burnwood Family, British Government, Erich Soders

Diana's younger brother, father and mother.

  • Ambiguously Evil: Peter and Nancy were friends with Erich Soders, an assassin with an impressive kill count, and were so close with him that Diana recognises him years later. How they know one another is never explained, so whether they conducted any "business" together or the Burnwoods were unaware of his activities is unclear.
  • Art Evolution: Much like with Diana, Peter and Nancy share very little visual resemblance to their comic selves, and were redesigned when they next appear in Hitman 2. Peters face is completely different; wearing glasses, looking slimmer and having auburn hair and a beard, while Nancy seems to have gained bleached blonde hair, looks a bit older, but otherwise does bear at least some resemblance to her comic self. The artists were quite careful to avert Hollywood Genetics, as both their hair colors would still carry the gene for Diana's iconic red hair.
  • Death by Adaptation: In Absolution, Nancy and James were still alive as of 2013, and Peter died in 1987. All three die in 1989.
  • Death by Origin Story: Their murders leads to Diana to seek revenge on their killers; Blue Seed Pharmaceuticals.
  • Expy: Of Thomas and Martha Wayne. The Wayne family tries to make Gotham a safe place to live, and in some continuities, are conspired to be killed to keep it a Wretched Hive for villains to roam free. Peter and Nancy are similarly going after a conspiracy to run the world in secret; Providence, by suing Blue Seed Pharma because they killed James Burnwood, Diana's younger brother, when the local water was spoiled.
  • Good Parents: While very little is known about them, they are shown to be loving and affectionate to Diana and James in old photos seen at the start of the comic, and care enough about James' death that they tried to take Blue Seed to court. Diana loves them enough to hunt down their killers, so clearly they're good people at heart.
  • Plot-Triggering Death: All three of their deaths sequentially contribute to motivations for another family member to right the wrong and get some justice. The story starts off with James's death due to badly treated water by Blue Seed Pharma, which gave him cancer and they died at a young age of 9. The parents, Peter and Nancy Burnwood, are killed by a car bomb set up by 47 and 6 on the orders of The Institute because they were going to sue Blue Seed. Diana, the sole surviving family member, schemes to avenge them by killing off the heads of Blue Seed.
  • You Don't Look Like You: Much like Diana, they got redesigned for when they appear in the games, starting with the Hitman 2 "Untouchable" cinematic. In the comics, Peter and Nancy look younger (late 30's or early 40's), Peter has orange hair, while Nancy is blonde. By contrast, in the "Untouchable" cinematic, Peter has darker hair (but still noticeably a bit orange), has grown a beard, has a completely different jawline, and is wearing glasses. Meanwhile Nancy's hair is a darker shade of blonde, has a chubbier jawline and a different hairstyle. Both Peter and Nancy also look a bit older too (almost early 50's).

    Savi

Savi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/both_savi.png

Citizenship: Unknown (presumably English)

Affiliation(s): Diana Burnwood, Herself

A gunrunner and the leader of a gang who acts as a mentor to Diana and helps her go after the executives of Blue Seed.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Calls Diana "Little Bird" a lot during conversations.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Diana gets her attention this way, by taking down some of her low-level thugs. She takes her under her wing because she was impressed with her moxie and (limited) fighting skill and wants to train her up to be a proper fighter and get revenge on Blue Seed.
  • Femme Fatale: Looks like one and acts like one to a T. She also advises Diana to play to her strengths by looking the part and that revenge is "no reason to look like a savage."
  • A Glass of Chianti: A not-insignificant amount of panels in the comic is of her holding a glass of wine (including this folders' image).
  • It Amused Me: A variation. In Issue 2, Diana asks Savi why she's helping her and responds with part of her reasoning being that she's quite curious to see where Diana's revenge plan with Blue Seed goes.
  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: Dresses up quite nicely and fights very well.
  • Limited Wardrobe: Throughout the comic book run, Savi wears about three different outfits (a mink coat and short dress, a purple pantsuit and a green pantsuit).
  • Pretty in Mink: Wears a jacket with furry sides on it, as seen above.
  • Smug Snake: When Diana gets some hands on experience with Savi's car, her chauffer is trying (and failing) to tell the very young Diana to slow down while driving, Diana herself is acting as if it were a race and Savi is pulling a Dreamworks Face in the back while drinking some wine.
  • Smoking Is Cool: Acts cool and smokes in a few of the panels.
  • The Sneaky Gal: Implied to be one herself, though also teaches Diana to act this way, as this is one of her strengths. It's also used against her, as Diana later goes behind her back and takes over her gunrunning business.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Has no bones setting her grunts to maul Diana to teach them to not be impatient.

    Robyn Gore

Robyn Gore

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/both_robyn_gore.png

Citizenship: Unknown (presumably American)

Affiliation(s): ICA

Diana's first handler at the ICA.

  • Affably Evil: While ruthless and amoral, as befitting an assassination agency coordinator, she treats Diana quite decently.
  • Black Boss Lady: Not a board member at the ICA, but is higher ranking than Diana is and thus makes her this Trope. Can be quite comforting to Diana, but acts more wise and like a teacher, though she is not afraid to be angry at Diana.
  • Lady Looks Like a Dude: She looks quite imposing and manly, so one could be forgiven for thinking she's a man at first glance.
  • Pet the Dog: When she notices Diana mourning deceased agents, she comforts her and advises her to go out for a walk.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Wears a purple suit, salmon shirt and white cummerbund and has a high ranking at the ICA.
  • Slasher Smile: As depicted in her image, she's fond of doing this.
  • Scary Black Woman: Given her line of work. Robyn chews Diana out for what she sees as Diana screwing up (despite Diana having no control over how the events played out, as 47 killed four agents and the target) and sends her downstairs to salvage the hit. A lot of the panels she appears in is her shouting for some reason.
  • Oh, Crap!: When everything goes pear shaped with the Franklin Marchand hit, Robyn sends Diana "downstairs" to make sense of what went wrong.

    Cheryl Franklin

Cheryl Franklin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/both_cheryl_franklin.png

Citizenship: English (Presumed)

Affiliation(s): Blue Seed Pharmaceuticals, Providence.

A high-ranking member of Blue Seed Pharmaceuticals.

  • Ambiguous Situation:
    • Was she really was the head honcho that killed her parents, or was she just someone who benefitted multiple times when all her colleagues were killed one by one, and she was just the last woman standing?
    • What was her fate after Soders left the building with Diana? It's possible Soders was sent to kill her and succeeded, or that she was an outright Karma Houdini and Soders didn't get to her and the latter was forced to quit to save Diana.
    • Related to the above, it's also unknown if Grey killed her, as at the start of Hitman 2, some of his militia in "Nightcall" mentions that one of the people they'd killed was "a lady from Blue Seed Pharmaceuticals", which may be Cheryl, but it could also just be someone unrelated that worked at the company.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Suspecting the hits on Blue Seed may make her a target, as soon as Diana captures her, she sets off a contingency plan that puts a mercenary hit on Diana, as well as call in a squad to free her and kill Diana's gang that captured her.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: It is at her building Diana finds Erich Soders again, and without that, she never would've heard of the ICA.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: After Soders meets up with Diana again, Cheryl is completely forgotten about, although it's unknown if Soders killed her before Diana arrived, if Cheryl escaped while Soders abseiled down the building, or if Grey and his militia kills her before the events of Hitman 2.

    Agent 81

Agent 81

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agent81_hitman.png

Citizenship: Romanian

Affiliation(s): The Institute for Human Betterment, Providence.

The final clone of the original batch by Ort-Meyer that 47 does jobs with in the 90's.

  • Foil: Like with Subject 6, he is considerably more chatty than 47 is (though that's not a huge bar to clear, admittedly).
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Due to Ort-Meyers' serum, he's suffocated by 47 several pages into issue 5 (willingly it appears) as the effects of the serum finally caught up to him. After his death, 47 is the only clone in the Institute that has survived the original process.
  • Stutter Stop: 81 does this when talking to 47 at a train station.
