In a post-Third Impact world, Asuka Langley Soryu^note the original and THE BEST! (her words, not ours) and her colleagues/friends try to move on with their (somewhat) better lives, despite their memories of prior events. With the possibility of Angels still out there, Dr. Akagi advised the Children to create blogs so that their synch ratios would improve, much to Asuka's annoyance, thus this blog was born. A Shot of Tsundere in Your Ginger is a Tumblr Character Blog created by Asuka Langley Soryu of Neon Genesis Evangelion fame, established on January 2012. It is a spin-off of the multi-character blog Ask Eva Cast.

Despite being self-described as a combination of various Evangelion continuities,^note the anime, RE-TAKE and Angelic Days Asuka is still the Ace Pilot of Eva Unit-02 and fighting Angels for NERV, and may or may not have feelings for her roommate, "Baka" Shinji. As her bio warns, she is full of "snark, sarcasm, irony and extreme Tsundereness", so don't expect her to hold back if anonymous questions press her Berserk Button(s). Weirdly, Third Impact appears to have caused a rift in reality, featuring Asuka interact with enough Alternate Universe Eva characters, and other unexpected characters, to create one Massive Multiplayer Crossover.

The blog became inactive in 2014.

• Affectionate Nickname:
  • Zig-zagged when it comes to calling Shinji "Baka Shinji", due to her tsundere traits.
  • Sometimes she calls Char Aznable "Commander Hottie" behind his back.
• Ambiguously Bi:
  • A Noodle Incident about what happened in the NERV women's shower room that is often referenced, much to Asuka's embarrassment.
  • Specifically, Ritsuko — if you go by any of the rumors Asuka's heard, considering she knows about Gendo and Ritsuko's history.
    Asuka: Have you heard the stories about Akagi's physicals? Ibuki once went to one and Rei swears she heard weird noises coming out of the lab... Something that suspiciously sounded like "Senpai, why are you dressed like a cat?" and "Maya, put on that mouse suit and squeak like a mouse"...

  • If someone mentions (or claims that she is inferior) to Asuka Langley Shikinami.

• Hormone-Addled Teenager: Asuka's relationship with whichever Shinji she's dating at the time, depending on whether the infamous events in RE-TAKE are canon, or not.
• The Nicknamer: In her dry wit, Asuka has nicknames for several people, whether endearing nicknames or not. Gendo, for example, has more than five.
• Once Done, Never Forgotten:
  • Asuka cannot resist bashing Shikinami without referring to her eyepatch.
  • Whatever happened in the NERV women's shower room haunts Asuka to this day.
• Poirot Speak: One of the old bios included this disclaimer:

  • On Kaji (as in the original series) and Char Aznable (who looks a lot like her dad).
  • ask-shinji-ikari Shinji points out how excitably-flustered Asuka got when Fuyutuski's relative, Bright Noa, turned up.
• The Rival: Subverted when it comes to Shikinami, although some of her actions imply otherwise.
  Q: Pilot Soryu, do you consider Shikinami a twin or a rival?
  Asuka: Neither… considering her a twin would mean she is my equal in all my areas of expertise [...] And calling her a rival would imply I actually see her as worthy of my attention, which is totally not the case here either.
• Running Gag:
  • What exactly happened in the NERV women's locker room?
    Anonymous: Biggest mystery of 2012: The Locker Event.
    Asuka: I'm not saying anything more.
  • Asuka trying to contain her excitement whenever Aznable arrives.
  • Ritsuko, Gendo, Misato, and Fuyutsuki took turns hacking Asuka's account, failing to hide their identities.

• Take That!:
  • A question asked about a recent battle with a new Angel got this response:
    Asuka: I saw Unit-01 and, for whatever reason, it began singing a Barney song. Putting the angel down was the only humane thing to do for all the innocent bystanders.
  • When asked about reading My Immortal, Asuka replies that her laptop broke down when she went to open it.
• The Tease: Asuka does this occasionally as a personal Rule of Funny to make Shinji squirm.
• Tsundere: Asuka embraces her classic trait. However, she often hops between the two types, depending on the user's questions.
• Unreliable Narrator: Due to being a composited version of herself, many of Asuka's claims can contradict themselves. Specifically, which universe does she live in? A lot of posts point to the RE-TAKE universe (since she gets shy and/or defensive whenever her inbox is full of questions about the story's most notorious moments) but she has also said that she's read the series.
• Vitriolic Best Buds: Implied to be Asuka's relationship with Kaworu (considering the events of their only meeting in the original canon), Misato, and Rei.
