Snikt. As soon as the audience heard Wolverine popping his claws at the end of the first trailer, they started to believe...
What brought up some people's interest was the fact was that the screenplay was written by David Hayter.
The casting of Ian McKellen as Magneto roused wild hope in many X-fans. They got an actor who is the right age to play Magneto, who has dignity, and can really really act? Woohoo!!!
Although people had been decrying X-Men Origins: Wolverine as just moreover-exposure for the most popular X-Man and the "fourth Wolverine movie," the trailer at Comic-Con convinced some people that it could actually be a good movie in its own right.
Let's all be honest here and admit why the Wolverine movie might be good: Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool! The end result was half right as Ryan as Wade Wilson was genuinely entertaining and one of the best things in the film despite limited screen time. The good news is, Deadpool had his own spin-off movie and sequel, still portrayed by Reynolds.
X-Men: First Class had two announcements that pleased the fans: the return of Bryan Singer (although only producing, he'll be unable to direct) and James McAvoy as the young Xavier.
And Kitty Pryde is back, too! Played by Elliot Page again!
Along with Iceman and Rogue!
Peter Dinklage is cast as Bolivar Trask, which has excited some fans. An acclaimed actor such as him is icing on the cake.
A preview clip of the opening battle scene was made public. A lot of comics fans were ecstatic to see Iceman finally "ice up" like he does in the comics.
The final trailer started out pretty good, but it had one hell of a finish. Scott, Jean and Kurt are surrounded by dead or unconscious bodies, and when Raven asks them how they fought their way out, Scott replies that they "had a little help." Cue a shot of Wolveriene's adamantium claws popping into frame!
On March 25, 2015, Ryan Reynolds tweeted a picture of the official costume◊ for the Deadpool movie. Just look at it! It's as if they ripped the suit straight from the comics!
When rumors of a PG-13 rating had fans worrying that the movie couldn't do Deadpool's black comedy and violent fight scenes justice, Reynolds revealed those rumors as an April Fool's joke, and assured fans that the picture would instead become rated R! He even made this announcement in costume, to show off how comic-accurate it looked even in motion.
The first trailer for Logan......oh boy, the feels....
Logan is rated R and had the best reviews so far, which pleased tons of Wolverine fans.
Dafne Keen was an awesome X-23.
The Deadpool 2 teaser was hilarious and well made! Not to mention a Stan Lee cameo in the extended teaser.
Sure, Dark Phoenix is unnecessary, as the X-Men rights will be reintroduced into Marvel Studios... wait, THERE'S CONCEPT ART OF THE SPACE SHUTTLE ACCIDENT THAT AWAKENED THE PHOENIX? Hats off to the producers for wanting to make this movie comic-faithful!
Director Simon Kinberg has also stated that he knows why X-Men: Apocalypse wasn't a critical success: the visual effects overshadowed the characters. He wants to do the reverse for this film, which is fitting for the Villain Protagonist Jean!
The film has also been described as a drama about the fight for Jean's soul, as its being threatened by the Phoenix. They want to get the emotional beats correctly!
