Was a member of the Council of mutants, and a rather important persona in it. Possessed shadow powers until Dominic attacked him and killed him, or tried to kill him. The attempt evidently purified Mike completely, replacing his shadow powers for light ones and his dark and evil personality by a heavenly one. He acted as a sort of guide to the adventurers, aiding Dominic in his last strike against Cepheus by granting his powers onto Dominic's blade. He also advises the survivors of the final battle on their future, before disappearing.

Master Li, her mentor and guardian, helped her overcome many obstacles, to include those in her personal and professional life as well. The weeks following the Bomb, Riley found herself alone and in terrible need of some guidance. She had been stripped of the last person she cared for, and it wasn't until she met the swordsman that she was able to open up emotionally, as well as learn her purpose in life.
