Hi, readers! this is Lily, aka BOOM!, the creator of the page on the web manga "Bad Things Will Happen" by poker10403.
I discovered this manga only 2 days prior to writing this completely on accident, and immediately it gained a special spot on my list of my favorite stories (and an entire compilation document in my Google Docs). Why? Let me explain:
1)The story has the perfect mix of drama, humor, and action to keep me entertained
2)The art style is the right balance of simple and detailed
3)It's a crossover between Mario and Pokemon, two of my favorite franchises. And it's done masterfully enough you won't even question it.
4)The characterization is on point, and the new characters all have their own charm and personality.
5)It's such a good, detailed story that it's hard to believe it isn't official. Seriously, this story is amazing!
The only gripes I have are that A) the comic hasn't been updated in a couple of years and B) some of the grammar and wording feels...off. I'm pretty sure that English may not have been the primary language of the writer or that this may have been in a different language first—through no fault of the creator. I'm actually making a transcript of the comic that fixes the issues and makes it flow better, but stays as true to the original as possible.
Despite, those small issues, though, this is one of the best mangas I've ever read.
