One of the few going-back-in-time fanfics that actually give you the feeling that TI actually happened - actually seeing the implications of being stranded in a post-apocalyptic wasteland gives the whole thing a very different atmosphere. This is a work that really explores the implications/ramifications of what happened and has intelligent writing on all sides - for example, the adults become suspicious and Asuka neatly avoids turning into a possession sue or magically fixing all her issues, instead, she gets some juicxy What The Hell Hero moments and the author doesn't let their shipping preseference blind them from what exactly is completely disfuctional about Shinji and Asuka's relationship and how her selfishness and arrogance play a mayor part in it, instead of gloryfying her for being "badass". If it is possible for a fanfic to make Shinji/Asuka (eventually) work in a believable way whithout them becoming OOC, this one does it.
Takes place in the original 'vese, but incorporates some Rebuild elements and some nice displays of research by the author, and the writing style is good and detailed.
FanficRecs Definitely recommendable
