It begins as a rather light-hearted fan-comic about the Korea brothers (the OC North Korea is a male, and our already known S. Korea's twin older brother), but as it starts treating the Japanese forced entry in Korea and the death of Empress Myeonsong in 1895, the Genre Shift creates an intense Tear Jerker. South Korea is always shown in canon as a cheerful, child-like character, but to see him breaking down and BSODing after losing his freedom at the hands of Japan and then being separated from North Korea per Russian and American intervention makes him a huge, huge Woobie.
