A Mind Screw That I Can't Help Coming Back To.

When I first read Shadow I was intreagued by the abrupt yet distant style of Wolfe's prose. But when i delved deeper into Severian's story, I was confused and fascinated with the plot and world building. And when I finished, I was eager to puzzle out the elaborate, haunting, lovely little mind screw Gene Wolfe has written for us. It is a fantastic masterpiece of science fiction, and should be read by more fans of well crafted prose and plot.

I can't help but agree with you. The Book of the New Sun, while confusing at first, is undoubtedly one of the best sci-fi novels ever written. More people should read Wolfe.
