I just have to say this fic is fantastic. It has everything I've been looking for in a Supergirl fanfic. More than a few dozen Kryptonian survivors to the destruction of the planet? Check. Heavy focus on Kryptonian technology/culture/society? Check. Well-developed plot and characters? Check. Kara being her canon sexuality AND in a respectful, loving relationship? Check. Reasons why characters are acting certain ways in a plot-relevant manner? Check. Reasons why advanced tech isn't coming to Earth? Check.
I love Non, Astra, and Alura in this fic. I'm really glad you fleshed them out and made them really likeable. The 2015 series never did. Kell-Ur is great too and I love how everything is progressing between him and Kara. There's give and take and neither of them overwhelms the other. I love when relationships have checks and balances. There's no constant fighting, but it's not unrealistically perfect either.
Kara's not a Mary Sue either, hurrah! At first, I thought it would be the case when I saw "12th-level intellect" but reading further showed me that she's experienced enough hardships and struggles to disqualify her from that trope. And the El brothers' relationship is very well done. It's nice to see that Zor and Jor didn't hate each other. Kara's relationship with her dad is also very touching and reminds me of my own with my dad before he passed.
Alex, Winn, James, J'onn, Clark, Lois... *chef's kiss*. James' jealousy is also really amusing to see, considering the 2015 canon. And the culture clash between Lois and Alura was really funny too.
All the tech and scientific explanations are great and are what I've been searching for in a Supergirl fic. Krypton was a technologically advanced planet and it seems when most authors DO decide to mention it they forget that it's thousands of years ahead of Earth. This fic really puts a spotlight on tech and that soothes my nerd side. The society and culture (Bonding vs marriage, natural vs Codex/Genesis Chamber birth, etc) bits are awesome too.
My only issue is that the fic could use some additional tags to make to make it more visible (I never would have found it if I hadn't heard of Speedforce's other fics) but overall this a solid fic.
