All of the pairings are well-written and sweet, as well as the battle scenes that are incredibly fast-paced and leave you wondering what happened and I need more. The emotions are heavy in this fic. Two things of note is that Denethor is written in a way that will make you like him, which is really just Boromir and Faramir combined and put in a blender. That is not a bad thing though and will actually make watching The Lord of the Ring movies harder, thinking what he might have been like before everything happened. You will instead not like his father, who is just as bad as Denethor crazy when he's not crazy. Another thing is the female OC, Dernwyn, is basically an expy of Éowyn, as well as her relationship to her uncle, Thengel, is just like Éowyn's to Théoden. Again though, that is not a bad thing if you think that Fíli and Éowyn could be a good couple and enjoyed the relationship Éowyn and Théoden shared and wouldn't mind reading it again under different names.
