I stumbled on this fic quite a while ago, and I have to say the concept is very appealing. It takes the characters in directions that wouldn't normally be explored, and for the most part the conversion feels natural. That said, there are several flaws:
- The author relies heavily on the strength of references to other source materials; Sailor Moon, World of Warcraft, Darkstalkers, etc., which sometimes works but for the most part just serves to distract from the main narrative.
- The author flanderizes the Norns (mostly Urd) and the Tendos & Saotomes fairly mercilessly in order to justify continuing antagonistic interactions between them and Ranma.
- The author really gets stuck in a rut by spending all of his time hyper-sexualizing both Hild and Ranma whenever they have girl time - which is most of the time they spend together. He focuses so heavily on it that he ends up repeating himself constantly, making it tedious and annoying after the first couple of chapters, and removing some of the depth of their interactions.
So overall verdict, good idea, not very good execution. Worth checking out once.
