Saphroneth is an experienced writer, with solid prose and clever humour, and makes good use of the Space Battles community to hammer out ideas and get feedback. Voldemort is only a minor nuisance in this story, with canonical threats generally being nipped in the bud quite quickly; the real focus is simply on what he does and learns at school. It's refreshing to see a story that just takes the opportunity to explore a magical world.
Of particular note is the many other non-human students who follow in Harry's wake, their quirks (sphinxes have to work hard to restrain themselves from attacking people who get riddles wrong) and accessibility challenges (how is a warg supposed to use a quill, anyway?) and unique strengths (the kitsune twins can give Fred and George Weasley a run for their Galleons!). Their many hijinks enliven the storyline and make it vastly more than a rehash. Dolores Umbridge, of course, is...not pleased.
