Too Good for Disney?

I'll be honest here. Me, as well as a lot of my friends, grew up in the “kidcom” era of Disney Channel. We do like a lot of shows with Periphery Hatedoms, like Hannah Montana and all that jazz. Looking back, I still like them, but in more of a Guilty Pleasure kind of way. Andi Mack, though... well, right off the bat there's no laugh track, and the protagonist learns that her older sister is actually her biological mother. And then later on the show dealt with stuff like gun violence and featured Disney Channel's first gay character. And yet, somehow, none of it felt forced. With an incredibly talented young cast and just overall good quality, this is a step in the right direction for Disney Channel. 10/10 Edit: The first gay recurring character. There was a lesbian couple on Good Luck Charlie.
