This fic was written by a soldier stationed in Iraq, and does a good job of depicting what post-3I life might degenerate into for the people that got un-Tanged. Some elements smell of Deus Ex Machina and I don't know if the way that Asuka is portrayed will sit well with readers, but overall the writing is strong and the story is compelling.
