So, I'm a huge Total Drama fan. After RR finished its run in 2015, I spent the next few years waiting on baited breath to see what the next installment will hold; what new friendships, romances, and rivalries will spawn, which exciting twists and turns the narrative will take, how the loose ends will all be tied up...
Then we got a goddamned baby spinoff.
To quote a certain Angry Nerd... what were they thinking?
Look, I'll be honest: I don't like stuff involving little kids, and I've yet to see a baby spinoff that didn't make me want to vomit, but this is perhaps the worst. Little attention is paid to established characterization, the dialog is asinine, the stories are bland and basic, the "jokes" are juvenile and trite, and the whole show smacks of marketing gone wrong, a desperate attempt to pander to Total Drama's fans without actually putting in the effort to create something they'll like. The only real positive I have is that, with a 15 min runtime, at least the episodes are over quickly.
Bottom line: Go listen to "The Wringer" by Eminem - specifically the "Crest Whitestrip" part - and you'll get a feel for how much I Would Rather Suffer than sit through this miserable excuse for a spinoff.
