Desperately Seeking Ranma' s title is ironic since, after all, you can't find Ranma in this story. He's been replaced by someone who's Ranma In Name Only.
Akane is, of course, bashed and portrayed as some kind of monster while Ranma's some Poor Widdle Victim who ran away because everybody is sooooo mean to him. Then there's the Sailor Moon in name only characters, the fact that the story just goes on and on and nobody is even remotely recognisable by the end.
Overall any story that starts with "Poor Ranma leaves Nerima" than its not worth reading, this story being a prime example of it.
