Much Better Than it Sounds

Much better than the bare summary and somewhat generic title makes it sound. An AU of the movie where Nick has been reduced to an insecure, self-hating, borderline Boomerang Bigot by years of abuse from and subservience to prey animals who use him as a secretary/slave/ occasional sex slave. Stumbles into the Nighthowler case with Judy through slightly different circumstances than the movie, and provides a riveting adventure as the case unfolds. But the main draw of the story is the psychological state of Nick, as the depths of his mental and emotional issues are slowly revealed throughout the story, and the fic starts giving you kidney punches right in the feels. One of the best Zootopia fics I have ever read, and definitely worth your time.
